We bought a brand new one for our DD for around $150 (i think- was a long time ago).
Youll need to be scrupulous in making sure that its safe, working, etc.
I wonder how much a newer one would be nowadays?
Good luck with your decision- $50 sounds ok- depending on how old it really is.
HTH!!!
we had the fisher price ocean wonders aquarium cradle swing it was fantastic, The two-position seat on this swing reclines and rotates 90 degrees to rock side to side for newborns, simulating the movement of a cradle. The swing also props up and adjusts to move back and forth, providing comforting motion for older, it was a god send

Didnt have that one, but had a fisher price one which was great - however I noticed in Target yesterday that they had a swing that would double as a highchair ... on sal for $41.99
as long as it has diff speed setting, and diff kind of music, (otherwise you would be fed up with the same music) you will be fine..... I really would of been lost without my swing.... Just with my big one it lasted till she was over 1 years old...
