Another OPK question?

Hi Girls

Just a quickie. I am currently day 11 in my cycle and think I o around day 14/15. This is the first time I have used OPK's, I have been testing since Sunday as per the instructions. So far only the control line is showing. When should I expect to see two lines?

Has anyone ever been in the situation where they didnt get two lines even though they thought they were ovulating??

Hi Manxie,

How long is your cycle usually? That should give you an idea of when you would see a positive. Its usually between 12-36 hours before you ovulate i think.

Having said that, i got a line (lighter than the control) but i knew i was ovulating, it was never as dark as the control, but it was darker than my previous tests. And i WAS ovulating, cos i conceived that cycle.

Katie - my cycle used to be 28 days but since having a miscarriage seems to have gone to 29. So its early days I guess I just thought I would be seeing a faint line straight away:detective:

I find the best OPK's are Discover. I usually see a faint 2nd line from day 12 then I see my surge cd16 and I O cd17.

I did use a brand (I think lullaby conceptions) where I didnt start to see a faint 2nd line until cd14 then it got darker until the surge cd16

Get rid of your FMU (First morning urine) Test around 4 hours later. You should see a surge the day before you O.

ok got my first faint second line today day 13....now i reckon I o day 14 or 15. If I can manage to persuade poor sickly dh to do the deed do you reckon today is too early?? I may just have one shot at this so need to get the best timing possible.:detective:

Does anyone test twice a day i'm sure I read about that somewhere??

Hey we are exactly the same. I 've been POAS (OPK) for a few days and got NOTHING. today (CD13) I got a faint second line - well its a very visible second line, but not as dark as the control line. So I'm assuming I'm going to O around CD16-17

Hmmm maybe I am ahead of myself here.....so cough, cough if not too much personal info when are you planning to give it a go:wink:

I am actually thinking of trying to bargain with dh, we give this month a good go and then if nothing give up maybe that way I can try and stand a good chance:(

I had EWCM from late yesterday so we BD'd last night. Will go again Fri Sat and Sun.

And then I'm terrible.... I start testing from about 4 DPO. I can't help myself :crying: I just cant. I need to go to PA (POAS-Anonymous).

I understand 100%. I'm using fetility solutions ovunow and pregnow OPK's and HPT's.

What brand do you have?

The pregnows are 10iul/ml

I was bored so I just POAS again. This time the line is VERY faint, but I think that that has alot to do with the fact that I drink excessively throughout the day and pee every forty minutes :)
