View Full Version : Any lesbian couples on IVF?
Just had my first egg pickup after four unsuccessful IUIs. They said in the end the donor didn't thaw too well and ICSI IVF was my only option. Feel like we've been through the wringers this year with all the ups and downs. Had to travel 2000km for each IUI and now for IVF as VIC is a little backward on the legislation stakes.
Interested in talking to anyone in the same boat.

Good luck with the IVF.
I had one go at IVF after years of IUI without success, and the same issue with our third donor's samples not thawing well. I found I couldn't handle the nature of IVF and gave up trying for two and a half years. The anaesthetics, the hormones, the embryos being made and then not taking were just too much for me.
We then had success DIY but with a new donor who had a great sperm count. We are expecting our first child in May next year, 7 years after we first started trying.
See how you go with IVF - if you find it OK, then keep going. If you are feeling like you have been through the wringer take a couple of months off and look at all your options. You can keep going with IVF, you could find another donor.
Good luck with it all, and I hope you find some support on the board.
hi there,
my wifey and i have been doing ivf for abit, check out my thread - nsw mum 2 b seeks advice - its been a long road, and after 3 iui and 2 collections (with hospitals admissions due to reactions) and 1 fresh transfer and 6 frozen transfers, we're taking a break.
