waking after I fall asleep

I wonder if others have this problem........ds wakes up every night just after I have fallen asleep. All he need is a quick cuddle and he goes back to sleep. I realise he is probably doing it because the house goes completely silent, but it is so frustrating to know when your falling asleep that you are going to have to get up in 10/20 minutes:banghead:
We have thought about leaving the tv or radio on low, but I really would rather not. I don't want him to have to rely on taht to sleep iykwim.
So, do others have this problem and if so have you found anything that helps with it?? Or do I just have to ride it out?

Hi, yes sometimes my little one wakes me up just after I have fallen asleep...usually because he wants his dummy though. Once he's asleep he's pretty good and doesn't wake too much. I found that playing a lullaby CD in his room not only helps send him asleep but eases him back into sleep once he's awoken and I am not there....I have a monitor and listen in on him once I put him down. When he wakes in the night for dummy, I usually press play on the CD player and let him hear the lullabys again until he falls back to sleep. Might help? I found that he doesn't rely on them, the nights we've been away or I forget the music....he's fine. Could be that he knows I am nearby....I usually run in there quick smart once I hear him waking so that he doesn't wake up fully and drifts back off to sleep quicker. Good luck with it all, I know it sux when we drift off and all of a sudden half asleep we have to tend to bubby....it's like we are zombies at times I know.

Babies are used to noise so lack of it wakes them. I even notice when Lucas falls asleep on the floor, if the tv goes quiet he instantly stirs * i bolt around looking for the remote:fingerscrossed: :D

At night 'white noise' is recommended ie a radio set to a fuzzy station, aircon, fan, just so the background isn't so quiet and you can get some sleep. Lucas sleeps til 7am now waking when the millions of cockatoos invade the tree outside his room:banghead: He has an aircon on all night that makes a humming noise.
