Has anyone been to SJOG Subiaco or heard good or bad about it?

I had my baby there. I liked it. I was fortunate to have wonderful midwives in labour and looking after me afterwards.

They do have a sky high c section rate, and an epidural rate of something like 90%, so if you are looking for a birth without those interventions, you need to be well prepared and quite assertive. I was, and managed to have a vaginal birth with no epidural. The midwives were fantastically supportive of that choice.

They do very good education sessions before the birth - the normal antenatal classes are OK, but they also have morning teas, where you just drop in for a chat, and classes specifically on breastfeeding and natural birth.

i had both my bubs there and would definitely go back again. when DS experienced fetal distress, i felt we were in good hands. everyone who needed to be there for his delivery were all lined up ready and waiting for his arrival.

the only negative thing i remember though is that once up in the wards, the nurses gave conflicting advice about breast feeding.....at the time when you need good advice to help establish it. i got frustrated with that.

but overall, i had some fantastic midwives , who went beyond the call of duty to help out and make me feel comfortable.

besides the fantastic afternoon teas and abundance of food, it was also about a three minute drive from my house, about enough time for two contractions as i recall.

I was a SJOG - and had heard the same about the c/s rate.

I did have a c/s but my choice as bubs was breech

they were really really great.... and Brin is right - the mothers support afterwards is fantastic!!!!
