Hi there ladies,
How will we all know who we are looking for?Is there anywhere for the kids to play at the foodcourt , I haven'tbeen out to Morayfield for about 2-3 yrs so I wouldn't have a clue whats there now.
Shell
Hi Shell,
I'll let you know what I'm wearing maybe a few days before and describe myself a bit. It's a monday so I don't think they'll be to many people and if we stand outside donut king all looking lost we'll work it out. The only place I can think of that kids can play at is a game's room near the foodcourt outside the cinema.
Melissa.
Hey Alison,
The pregnancy is going well, although I had a freak out today. The bub hadn't really moved in over 24 hours. Rang the obstetrician and all is well. Feel much better now!!! This pregnancy thing is really scarey!!
Can't wait to catch up on the 27th!

Hi Alison,
My pregnancy hasn't been that good actually! I have gestational diabetes, and now I am on insulin. It's not all bad though, now I know what I am doing I feel much better. So I'm hoping I will be back to normal when the baby is born, I will even try to keep eating better!
I hope all is well.

Hi, a girl how sweet. My first pregnantcey went alright. Had a bit of morning, afternoon and night time sickness. My daughter was born at 37 weeks and no drugs 6 hr labour. My second pregnantcey i was ill for few months and couldn't keep anything down for awhile had to go to doctors to help with the sickness part. My second child a son was born premmie at 35 weeks and in special care unit on a feeding tube for two weeks. He had fluid on he's lungs and not breathing enough. He turned out fine. He's now 15 months old. I had him with no drugs either and 3 hr labour. Alison:smiliedance:
Wow Mara! you don't have all that long to go!!
Where are you having your bub at?
Are you anxious to have it or are you ready??

Hi guys, I'm a mum to a 15mth old & pregnant with #2 & would love to catch up with some other mums in the area. The only thing I'm worried about is meeting up in a shopping centre as they tend to have alot of background noise (I'm hearing impaired) & DS is also very active & likes to run around. Let me know if you decide to do the next meeting at the park. Mondays are a great day.:)

Hi Mara - Annabella is such a pretty name! So many options for nicknames too...
Bugger about the gest. diab! I had it, but not the insulin - you are very brave  for injecting yourself!!!!! Annabella will be in for some heel prick testing when she arrives :crying:
I think everyone here would agree with me when I say 'it's all worth it in the end' - and I know how much you must hate hearing that (I know I did), but it's so true!! :)
Keep smiling :D
Cheers,

Hi Liz, you and your son are most welcome to come to our meet ups. Next time i was thinking of having it at morayfield lakes park. I put in thread about the morayfield park few months back but didn't really have any takers. Mondays are good for me to. Alison:smiliedance:

Alison - Wow you have experienced really different pregnancies, maybe the next one will be somewhere inbetween :p
Naomi - No I don't really have too long to go, I am getting a bit scared. Some days I feel fine and don't worry to much about anything. Then other days I feel so sick, I wonder how I have made it so far!
I am having her at caboolture hospital. I am ready to go, bags are all packed. I can't wait to meet her, but then again I know I will miss her in my belly!
Chillifly - Thanks about the name :)
I guess most days the gestational diabetes isn't too bad, I just have to go with it. But days like today it gets tough, no matter what I do I can't keep my sugar down, it's frustrating to say the least! I'm not so worried about hearing people say it's all worth it, I know it will be.
I know in the next few weeks the countdown will go very slow though, and family will be coming in and out all the time. I guess it will be nice to have help.. but knowing my family I will be running after everyone!
Thanks everyone, I hope all is going good.

Hi all we have just stumbled across this site. We are looking to meet some mums & bubs in the area also. My little girl is 2 next month & bub no2 is due in September. I will try to make it to the shopping centre, but would prefer to meet at a park & Centenary lakes is a great spot. So if anyone else would like to meet at the park let me know.
Cheers

Hello ladies, hope we all had a nice week and will be having a great weekend. For the ladies who are comming on monday. I'll be the lady wearing a puple and pink flower shirt and black pants. I'll also be the one with a 3yr old girl and 15 month old son. Take care and see you on monday at 10 am. Alison:smiliedance:
Mara does GD go away after birth? I know what you mean about wanting to meet your bub. I can't wait either and time seems to be standing still!
Looking forward to Monday - hope to meet lots of you!

Naomi - The doctors tell me there is a good chance it will go away. But there is also a chance I will get type 2 diabetes later in life, so I still have the be careful what I eat.. Just not be as fanatic about it!
It's a scary time, yet excited all at the same time. I just hope I have all that I need! What baby stuff do you have ready? Do you have Labout/baby/hospital bags ready? Have you been to antenatal classes yet? Tell me everything! hehe
Mara
Mara,
Good to hear that your GD may go away. It must be a pretty frightening prospect having diabetes - but I guess there are worst things to be diagnosed with in the scheme of things. I hope it goes away:fingerscrossed:
I haven't got everything organised yet, but I figure I've still got 9 weeks or so, so there's still time! I have a cot/change table/ pram/ baby bounce and a couple of outfits in neutral colours. I'm sending my husband out for a quilt set after I have the bub, because I don't know what I'm having yet.
I'm flying down to Sydney in Easter and my Mum is throwing a baby shower for me :smiliedance: so I'm hoping to get a few more useful things e.g. baby powder, outfits, bibs, cot sheets etc from that. I have only lived in Brisbane for 2 months, and all of my friends are down south, so it will be good to catch up with close friends and have a baby shower at the same time!!
I've been going to antenatal, done three out of six. They have been informative, although the videos of labour were pretty scary. The benefit of going into labour yourself is that you don't need to see what is actually happening down there. The last session of antenatal was helpful because a physio was running it and gave lots of tips for helping with lower back pain. Are you going to do antenatal classes?
Sorry for the long post, can you tell that I like a chat! :ecomcity:
Take care and I hope to see you tomorrow!
Hi There,
I'm sorry I was late to morayfield today I got there about 10:20 and couldn't see a group of mum's anywhere so I thought you must have gone to have a coffee somewhere. Anyway will be more organised for the next meet in the park. Hope you all had a good time.
Mel and Molly.

Hello mums, and mum's to be. My morning started off with my partner driving kids down to grandparents and comming back for me. We had to wait for builder to come at 8am. He never shows so we head off to grandparents at 8.30am and pick up kids. Builder rings us on way up to morayfield sorry can't come but plaster ladies are comming at 1pm to plaster walls. We get to morayfield at 9.20am and buy our son some shoes and head up to food court. Dad takes 3yr old for walk and some donuts. I stay with son at donut king. Notice a pregnant lady comming my way and asks if i'm Alison. Yep i say and find out it's Naomi. We start chatting. VERY NICE TO MEET YOU TODAY(sorry about my daughter.) We didn't see anybody else come so we sat down at the back of donut king on the bench seats. Mella you'll wouldn't of noticed us in the crowd. My daughter had donuts and daddy brought some hot chips and gravy and juice.THANK YOU NAOMI FOR OPENING MY DAUGHTERS JUICE BOTTLEMy daughter started sicking up. Poor Naomi, so we had to call it a day. We chated for about an hour. Next time i was thinking of going for a picnic at morayfield lakes park next month. Any takers. Alison:smiliedance:

Naomi - I have been to antenatal classes, they were interesting! When I went I was the leaset pregnant woman there. The videos are scary hey. I swear I heard a 'pop' noise come from one of the ladies giving birth and the look on the babies face was horrifying!.. so I am glad I wo't be seeing it from that angle!
I have a pram, bassinette, carseat, baby pouch, a few clothes and toiletries. I have a steritiser and breast pump, nappy wrapper, nappy buckets. Just basic things really. I hope to know what I need when she comes lol.
I have been sick this weekend, it has been hell! I got a cold from my husband lol.
I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Mara - I didn't have a pop sound, but I did have a plop sound when Lucy came swishing out with all the guck. A word of advice, make sure your bag is as far away from where your legs are pointed as possible. My OB wore a raincoat and gumboots and she (and the wall behind her) absolutely wore it when Lucy sloshed out. And no, you won't see anything, at most you might see the head sitting out - you'll be too focused on pushing. I was asked if I wanted to touch her head and said 'no thank you' (very polite!!) and everyone laughed at my politeness :o
LMAO Alison - you did not have a good day! I could have gone some donuts though to be honest! I'm up for a park meet sometime in April....

Count me in for a park meet up next time:smiliedance:
Liz.
Allison - It was lovely to meet you. I just hope that Makayla is feeling better.
Mella - I'm sorry we missed you
Chillifly - hehehe. I am picturing a doctor in a yellow raincoat, with a yellow hat and yellow gumboots. It sounds very funny. I'm scared about the reality of situation though. I'd think I'd prefer to be in ignorant bliss - less than 9 weeks to go!!! I hope I can be as polite when the time comes lol!
Mara - you sound all set up. I'm sure you'll survive ok if you've forgotten something. Scary though.
I'm not sure about next month's meet up. I'm going home to Sydney over Easter for 10 days. Will have to see how things go. Can't wait to catch up with friends and family!!!:smiliedance:
