Eliza choked on a coin last week and had to go under a general to have it removed. But since then last Thursday she is most definitely traumatised, don't blame her so am I. Me I am not worried about. Her I am a little I am sure as she gets older she won't remember it at all, but right now she is scared when I leave her in bed to nap/sleep she will wake up as soon as I leave and arms out "no no mimi noooo" and I have to lay back with her until she is really fast asleep. Also if she is out of my sight say in the supermarket today with DH she started screaming MIMI MIMI at the top of her lungs she was only 10 foot away but out of her line of vision DH came straight back and she clung to me for dear life crying her eyes out.

I am giving her lots of reassurance and she is back in our bed for sleeps as she wakes often and yells out for one of us. I have even taken to letting her take her day time naps either on me while I work, or taking a nap with her.

Just wondering if anyone else's kids have been traumatised and how long it takes roughly obviously as all situations are different and how did you deal with it?

My DS split his eye open when he fell in the bath at a similar ago to your DS...
He wouldnt go in the bath for a few weeks!

He had to go under a general to get stitches though because it was on his eye.

He was VERY cuddly and only wanted Mummy 100% of the time.
Hes still pretty much like that.

I wouldnt call it trauma.. I think your DD feels safe and loved around Mum. Why would she want you to leave then?

I think its perfectly normal..
Good job Mum.. Its ok!

Thanks :)
I know she feels safe, it's just the change in her happy self when she wakes up or when I leave her that makes me sad.

Your poor little man :(
