I just started bottlefeeding & am looking at getting "out & about" more (I couldn't with breastfeeding so am VERY excited!!) I live in country so want to be able to go into city for the day (2-3 hrs away)........
I don't really have a nappy bag - I've just been using a big over shoulder bag I owned, which has been okay so far............but, now that I will have bottles etc to take too, I'm looking at possibly better options.

Ideally, I would like 1 bag that I can take the "nappybag" stuff in AND 2-3 bottles + little formula container. I am using Avent range of stuff - decided to stick to the one type to avoid confusion.....I have a 2-bottle insulated carrier already - so if I could fit this in would be great.
Obviously - I also need this bag to be able to fit my wallet, phone, keys too..............
The bag would need to be able to carry the 2 lots of stuff in different areas /compartments obviously - don't want to be carrying pooey nappies with bottles next to them

I have looked at the actual AVENT kit bag..........does anyone have this? How big is it? Can you carry it over the shoulder easily? I used to think a backpack would be good, but after trying one with bub, realised I prefer an "over the shoulder" bag which fits in bottom of my stroller but also looks "almost stylish" if I want to carry it :)

As I have Bertini Bidwell stroller - I have also looked at their nappy bag (that would fit in the stoller well obviously - but it doesn't sound like it would carry bottles...........

What about the Kapoochi bags? How big and how good are they at carrying all this stuff? Obviously, the smaller the easier it is - but it needs to be big enough to hold enough "stuff" for 1 full day out........

Any suggestions for me? Appreciation in advance....

Check out the Oi Oi range - very stylish and also practical. I have the backpack, but a friend has one of the shoulder bags and it looks like it would accomodate your needs. The website is www.oioi.com.au and I know that David Jones and Kiddies Corner in Coorparoo stock them (if you are coming into Brisbane at some stage). They don't look so much like a typical nappy bag, so you get to retain some of your pre-baby stylishness! They come with a nappy mat, an insulated bottle carrier and a clear plastic zip up pocket for wet messy things.

I had the Kapoochi Classic Satchel. I loved it, my son is now 2yrs old and I still use it now if we are going out for the whole day.
It has 2 insulated pockets on the ends, along the bottom of the bag there is a zippered compartment for nappies, saves you from digging through everything else in the bag to find them. The main part of the bag doesn't look all that big, but it holds alot of stuff. I could fit 2 changes of clothes, a spare shirt for me, (he had bad reflux for a while so i needed it) 2 or 3 bibs, a cloth nappy/dribble cloth, a blanket and a couple of toys and still had room to spare.
On the front of the bag there is also pockets for your wallet, phone, sunglasses, etc...
The shoulder strap has press studs on it so if you put it over the pram handles you can do them up and the bag wont slide around, or hit your knees as you walk.
The thing I liked most about it was the fact that it could be used as a back pack or a shoulder bag. There are straps attached to the back of the bag, but hidden in a pocket on the back of the bag until you unzip it and pull them out.
It's a really comfy bag to carry in either position.
Sorry this is so long, it's a really great bag, even if it is a bit more expensive than some of the others around.
Good luck, hope you find a bag that suits you :)

Hi Tannie
I've also got the Oi Oi backpack and its fits in all the snacks and bottles I need for a day out with two girls. I've had it for almost 4 years and its still going strong. The two features I really like are:
The changemat that comes with it (because you can never be sure there will be a baby change station - I've had to do it on the floor of a public toilet YUCK!)
The zipper at the back that quickly allows you to get into the bag for dummies etc)
Oh and it carries all my things as well so there's only one bag!

Cheers
