I was talking to my mum's neighbour (who's 4th is 11.5 months) who told me that her DS had to be weaned off the breast as he started waking at night & that meant she wasn't producing enough milk  MJ has been having feeds at approx 10.30, 2.30 then a quick snack at 5 before waking properly at 6.30 if i'm lucky. She has about 4 feeds during the day plus up to 3 solid meals (not a big eater).
This is normal right? She doesnt really "wake" at night, just comes over for a little drink & falls asleep again (co-sleeping  ) My mums neighbour said that it sounds like MJ needs to be put onto a bottle
Please tell me she's wrong

Sounds ok to me (but I'm no expert!! ) I'm assuming she's growing and developing ok? If so, no worries in my opinion :)
rainbowbrite, you, your bub and your routine sound totally normal to me.
i have plenty of breastmilk, am still always leaking all over the place (sorry if TMI) and also feed my baby (8mths) at least once at night.
Please tell me she's wrong

She's wrong!
babies wake at night for all sorts of reasons - not enough milk is not one. My girls both started waking at 6 months and I kept BF. If you and MJ are happy you keep doing what you are doing!

The only time that is right for you to stop giving MJ a night feed (or for her to snuggle in and have one) is when MJ decides to give it up or you decide to wean her off it.
Your mum's neighbour may have had 4 kids but that does NOT mean she knows what is right for MJ!!
Just to be cheeky - why not ask your mum to check with her neighbour in a couple of days and see if he has stopped waking at night?? I think she might just be ready to wean him herself and that seemed like a good enough reason.

Thanks for all the positive advice. I'm in no way ready to wean MJ. Yes i'll admit some days i would like a good nights uninterupted sleep but that can wait. MJ is still a little bub, & bf is just so easy.
Its amazing how easily people can make you question yourself. I dont have supply issues, I'm not a squirter  but they sure feel full to me
Thanks again ladies, much appreciated  :hugs:
