View Full Version : 40+ Parents/Parents to be (December Chat)
Post script: well all that cleaning served to do was make my knees and heels throb all night..lol..so here I am up at the crack of dawn because I can't find a comfortable position to sleep in..doh!
I did have a revelation though last night..you know the expression: you can't teach an old dog new tricks?..well you can!lol.
After twenty years and three kids I never did get the breastfeeding thing right. I think because the first try I had was awful. A nurse had been watching me try to attach Brittany in a gentle fashion...teasing her with the nipple to get her mouth ready. The nurse obviously wasn't impressed so she came over and roughly grabbed Brittany's head and my breast and forced the two together. Suffice it to say Brittany screamed the place down.
With the other two I just never did get it right and try as I did, never truly understood the workings.
At the 34wk appt a month ago the middy suggested I press in on the edges of the areola and try to express some colostrum (I had been using an old book that suggested a different way that wasn't working). Well last night after my shower I decided to try her method and ended up dripping colostrum!! (something I had never been able to do previously). It has increased my confidence that I will be able to breastfeed this one a whole lot more successfully :fingerscrossed: I really hope it works.
OK..I am off to see if I can rest a bit til the family wake up. The kids are so thrilled about decorating the house. They have tidied their rooms in anticipation..woohoo! lol.
Hugs to all.

OMG your so good to do this I would of just kept on going with the other thread.....I'm so blonde.......8 more sleeps til we go on holies .....I think I will be on here alot as I don't think I'm going to cope with hubby home for 4 weeks!!!!! But I will get a nice big dinning table out of it.....hubby is an electrition and my girlfriend and her partner want Rod to do some elec work and asked if we would like their dinning suite in return....as they want the new square one now......I know it is worth $900 so
I'm happy....... http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/images/smilies/cloud9.gif
:cloud9: well best go put Matthew to bed and go to sleep early myself........Ohhhh guess what girls.....I might have chicken pox.......I ran a bath for myself this afternoon and I happened to look down at my hugh tummy and low and behold little spots which looked a bit blistery.....I had the bath then for 3 or so hours they stayed raised.......then sort of faded...but my midriff is very tender to the touch......I have had chicken pox 3 times already so I'm very scared if it is it might turn into shingles......I will keep you posted......this is the time of year for it too.

Poor Shaz..I hope it isn't shingles..they tend to end up around your mid area but don't go down or fade generally and can get intensely itchy. My poor eldest dd had chickenpox three times too and then it spawned into coldsores around the mouth..then onto oral herpes where the blisters end up in the mouth, down the throat, and up the nose..ewwww. Poor thing relapses whenever she gets too stressed or overtired.
Anyway, you have to stay well..you have a cracker holiday coming up!
Silly me has a blister on my tummy too..but not from shingles. I was making bacon and eggs this morning and turned around to serve it up and forgot how far my belly protrudes these days:o. The pan just touched the skin but OUCHIE..it was enough to leave a red patch which has since blistered. Poor baby must have got a shock too. I will be glad to deliver as this belly is getting me in trouble..lol.
Good deal on the dining table. It is great when you can trade like that and end up with something you really wanted.
I am off to find something worthwhile to watch.
Have a happy Sunday.

Yeah Vicki..I was getting a bit tired of the Nov forum anyway..it was soo 80's and needed updating. This one is really modern and bright ;)
How scary that we are in a Dec forum! Only one more pay to panic about who I have forgotten on the Christmas front..eeeek. We are hoping to have the baby before the 15th so we can add its name to the xmas cards before sending them..ergonomic to do both xmas wishes and baby announcement in the same card..lol.
We had a great day yesterday putting up the :tree: and decorations. Then we spent four hours pulling things out of the garage to get to all the baby stuff we have stored in there. I put the baby car seat into the car just in case we go early and haven't yet picked up the capsule..and today I will scrub out the pram and the little cloth basinette that goes into it.
Last night I went onto the Emmaljunga website to look for a spare part I need but found myself absolutely drooling over one of their new prams. "I want it NOW daddy!!"...lol. I can't believe how silly I was getting over a pram *for-crying-out-loud*. Now I know how hubby feels when he looks at sports cars with leather interiors. *sigh*
As much as it is such a gorgeous looking pram I couldn't justify the expense. None of my kids stayed in the things for longer than 12mths anyway..so I will simply stick with what I already have (flicks a tear from the corner of her eye and sniffs loudly).
I loved the pics of Katie hon. She so puts me in mind of a friend's six-year-old child who is probably the most confident child I know and who doesn't take rubbish from anyone..lol. Good qualities for a girl to have.
I also went back in the album and saw a great pic of Katie at 9mths sitting wearing a hat, and one of her laying over dad's lap having a back rub at ten months (Lachie will come and sit next to me and casually pull up his shirt in anticipation of a scratch or rub..lol..typical male).
Gee but she is growing up fast. Have you plans for her birthday this year?
OK..I am off and out.
Happy Sunday .
Amy:)
M-a, hun am so so sorry to read that. As Amy has said your in our thoughts and we are here for you
:hugs::hugs:
Amy: The 15th!!! hehe hope you get your wish.
Do you feel you will go soon? I was telling DF from about 35 weeks that I felt she would come early, 37 weeks to the day she came.
Simple plans for the first birthday, both sets of grandparents, the boys and us are having a afternoon tea, birthday cake and coffee.
Will plan a proper party next year for her 2nd one.
Never did do the "party" thing every birthday so wont be changing now. Every couple/few yrs is enough imo.
Yes some of those new prams are lush arent they?! Im the same, just cant justify the $ though..when something that can do just the same will work fine too yet cost you heaps less OR with luck already have! Good for you hanging on to it all?? How come you still had it anyhow?
Suspect ill have to sell all mine, just no room to store :( anyhow, this will be the last!!!!!!!!!!! Thats a definate lol
Well hope your resting after that huge garage cleanout.
oh and yes, Katie just LOVES the back or tummy tickle, cant get enough of it lol , bit like her Mum
The hat one was one that DS1 took with his new fancy camera at the park
Take care!

Q. Why did I still have all the baby stuff in the garage six years after Selia was born?
A. I have this dreadful compulsion to keep things. I have moved all my life and known extreme loss by having to throw things away for a move or finding the removal company has lost precious items along the way.
At first it was just having somewhere to store the stuff..like when I bought their beds I simply packed up the cots and put them in the garage until I 'sorted it out'..ummm..everything is still there..lol.
Then I told myself that Brittany may well start a family in her 20's and will likely want some of the stuff. I am too practical thinking..I hate wasting money on new when the old is just as useful. Now if you were to ask Brittany about having kids she would say: "When hell freezes over!". However, who knows, she could be married in four years time and fall madly in love with the idea of procreation.
OK..so I have real issues of abandonment here . I cannot abandon the baby furniture..and it is happily living with the old couch out there in the garage..oh, and the trunk I probably will never use again..and hubby's motorbike that hasn't been ridden since 2002..but heck, they are keeping each other company (ever seen a kids movie called The Brave Little Toaster? Appliances have feelings too!).
Yes, I do need help. I need to win one of the Boys' Town or RSL houses to give me the incentive to do a big throw away as I move :). Failing that I guess I will hold on to the stuff for a few years longer and then make a decision. It is part of my newly discovered (about ten minutes ago) OCD ..hehehe.
Actually, I feel so much better since I purged myself of that confession. But am I glad I kept everything? HECK YES!!! Now it makes the decision to do so look rational. lmao.
Hugs,
Amy:)

P.S..My avatar shows the garage today with Selia standing where the car goes (of course we have to move the prams that we just got out from under everything yesterday. The car fits...JUST! lol.
LOL!
Ah but its worked out well for you by keeping it all. Ya never know do you..
I can really understand the want to keep that you have, we also moved more times than I can count right up until my teens, even once to a campervan so you can guess how much we were allotted each to take? hence why I have NOTHING from my child hood.
I make up for it by keeping quite a bit from the boys childhood and will do the same for Katie.
Though smaller things. IF I had the room like a garage am sure I would do the same xxx
M-a, Am thinking of you xxx :hugs:
Hi guys, bleedings almost stopped thank God, I nearly went to Westmead for a third time lol. I spose when I get my next period we can start again? Pain's gone too. I have a worry in the back of my head that I hope it wasn't twins like the last time - nobody examined me, they only took blood. I tried to get tanked on Sat. night and took a load of valium to get me to sleep with the pain - let me tell you, neither ponstan nor nurafen plus (which the midwife told me to take for the pain) do jack ****. Wine helps a little, valium makes you sleep so you won't think about it or feel the pain.
Anyhoo, back to square one I spose, hope we can do it again :)
Thanks for your thoughts

M-a, Thanks for letting us know how you are :hugs:
twins... Do they even follow up after a miscarriage in any way?? Would think there would be more bloods to see hcg levels lowering or a scan to see how things are?
ALL the best TTC again hun, OH and have read MANY times that after a miscarriage your super fertile!!!!
Shaz, Sounds like things are getting busy for you now! Im just finishing of the school year for ds2, last EDU visit tomorrow so lots to catch up on, have been SO slack! Just hard to find the time lately. Will be glad when hes at work and all over.
1 more sleep to get the ring hehehe.
and day3 today of clomid
I told DF last night of how wonderful a end to the year it would be to get our BFP, I will be able to test just before xmas too. I wont be sad if its not..so it wont spoil xmas but if I was!!! What a crissy it will be
Engaged
Katies 1st xmas ( in hospital c-sec when born)
Katies 1st birthday
and Pregnant
ah can I be that greedy and have all that? lol
Buggerations :(
Just had my 3rd blood test and the levels have risen from 145 to 298. I'm still bleeding and I don't know what's going on. Midwife said she'll need to do another blood test on Thursday and look into an ectopic pregnancy if they can't find anything in my womb which had not reduced either.
NOW I feel guilty cos I had like 5 wines and 3 valiums not to mention the nurofen! Maybe I should just have an abortion? I'm so confused :(

Hello M-a, what a difficult time you are having. Nothing seems clear and definite and it must be hard because part of you would want to grieve and part would be hopeful seeing those hcg levels rising. What did the ultrasound show? Is there still a fetal pole and heartbeat? Have they even done a scan yet?
I hope you get the assistance you need at this point hon and that there is a good outcome.

No hon..I don't think that is greedy at all..actually I think having kids and wanting more is quite unselfish as you know the work that goes into it all.
I so have my :fingerscrossed: for you. *Blowing clouds of baby dust your way*.
So come on gfriend..tell us about your ring!! Have you stopped looking at your finger yet? lololol.
Sadly I showed dh the ONLY ring I could muster up any interest in, even got him a quote and it was on special at the time, but he left it too late and it was gone the next time we went in :( I still hope that one day I can have the very same ring made up..but until then I wear my mother's engagement ring that was left to me in her will.
I am slowing down now..just want to sleep a bunch. I lost a huge amount of plug this morning but it wasn't blood tinged and I am not having pains so still could be quite a while off. I think I will plod around today and tidy up. I wish I could say I was nesting hugely but I am too knackered to bother that much..lol.
Hugs. Have a very happy Wednesday.

P.S. Each pgcy I have this wierd thing happen where I awake at a particular time each morning usually to go to the loo.
With Selia it was 3:33am precisely every single morning. The moment my eyes were open I would look at the clock and be blown away that it was the same time..kind of like Groundhog Day..lol.
With this pgcy though I have three times I awaken every night: 1:09am, 3:20am, and 5:29am..and I mean this has happened every single night for the last 5 nights.
Has anyone else experienced that? What do you think it means?
Hugs,
Amy:)
Woah, wierd! No idea what it could possibly mean hun.
Oh I started losing my plug about 10 days before, same time the BH's kicked up a notch! Ow?
1 week before I started irregular contratcions....yes a weeks worth of having them for hrs then stopping lol
Fingers crossed thats not the same for you xxx ( but then again she came 3 weeks early ) hope you get the early part so you can get back home and then enjoy xmas turkey without the baby hogging to room for it haha

check that out! sorry the pic isnt so great, so hard get a decent closeup, no flash cos the flash would make it just sparkle beyond recognition etc. Will get ds1 to try with his fancy camera.
Anyhow, 1/2 carat princess cut diamond, solely on its own! No needs for any fancy stuff around it, it has enough of its own beauty
really doesnt do it justice, wish could show yous personally.

Oh honey dont feel like that!!! If there is still a baby there he/she should be fine!!!Think of what some woman do to their bodies on a daily basis knowing they are pregnant! and things still work out okay. yours was a once only!!
You didnt know hun so Please dont beat your self up over it :hugs:
Am here for you and waiting in anticipation that alls well for you xxx
I'm so frightened, I'm only spotting lightly now, but I'm SURE I passed a sac, you know it was sac like and had a white thing at the end about as big as a peppercorn. That was Friday and since then my levels have risen again???? Maybe it was twins again? Geez, I don't know. Going back to the clinic tomorrow for another blood test and hopefully an ultrasound, I'm under strict orders not to exert myself in case it's ectopic and I have to pack and get ready to move! Poo on a stick, life sucks sometimes!!!
By the way has anyone heard the rumours about Chrisco? Clients aren't getting their orders and such, I'm gonna be real cranky if that happens cos MAN this is the first year I've done it and by golly if I lose that grand I'll just sink further into depression.
I'll let youse all know what happens tomorrow, I wanna ticker!!!! I told everyone I miscarried now I don't know what the story is.
Thanks for all your help AGAIN ladies, you've been just wonderful and it's so nice to have somewhere to come and vent to people who actually understand, you know?
Big hugs
M-a
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
M-a, Let us know how you go tomorrow. Hopefully youll get that ultrasound, surely they will seeing that your lvls are indeed rising.
All the best hun, will be thinking of you :hugs:
Oh and Crisco better deliver for you!!! Hopefully just a sad rumour.

********HUGE TMI WARNING*********
M-a. I am concerned that no-one is taking this seriously enough to ultrasound you. If you went to the emergency dept of the local hospital would they do one for you?
I lost a pgcy last year at the 10.5wk mark. I presented to the hospital with the tiniest speck of blood but they rushed me up for an u/s anyway. It showed that the hb had stopped approx 2-3wks earlier. The next evening I laboured at home for an hour with all the pains I had with my live-born babies. I eventually delivered the sac whole and it was the size of a small mandarine. The next day the afterbirth came out and was bigger than the sac.
I honestly don't know how you are getting by emotionally without knowing exactly where things stand so please yell and scream until you are heard.
I agree with Tabby though, many women do worse things than you have and end up fine, so stop beating yourself up about the wine and the tablets.
I just really hope you can find someone to listen to you and do better investigations than they have to date.
Hugs,
Sorry if the content of this post offends anyone. It is not intended to for sure.

M-a: forgot to add: I got my Chrisco just fine last week but the delivery guy did say that a few ppl had not received all their boxes or there were mixups. Thankfully mine was all fine and I know the company would ensure the full delivery if there were any shortfalls.

Vicki: What a stunner your ring is! I bet you turn your hand this way and that to see how the light catches it..*smiling*. Such exciting news!
So are you all geared up for Christmas yet? Any big plans?
I am yet to finish shopping. Hard without the car during the day but I will get out and about on the weekend and hopefully get it all done in time.
I spent yesterday washing down baby mattresses in readiness and I got a last ebay purchase of baby clothes. I think we have enough now..lol.
I hope your time line about losing the plug works out for me too. I have never lost any plug before full blown labour before..it was quite a shock. I showed hubby and then he didn't want to go to work..lol..he was scared that things would start to happen quickly. I told him no such luck, probably another week or two away.
Nothing much else to report..just plodding along as per usual. I opened one of the Chrisco boxes of something I purchased that was so selfish..lol..it was all sorts of kitchen tins and scales in a pink colour made to look like tins from the 1930's/40's. I love retro looking stuff. I felt so guilty ordering it last year as I usually pick gifts for the kids. I have ordered them a huge board games pack for next year to make up for it..lol.
OK..I had best head off and make a cuppa. It is nearly 5:30am and I have been up for just over an hour. I am finding it harder to sleep now as I just can't get comfortable.
Hugs,
Happy Thursday.
Amy:)
Well I presented to emergency on Friday, they refered me to EPAC and they have just been monitoring my levels. Today just another blood test because they were booked out for ultrasound. The midwife said if the levels were still rising she would ultrasound me tomorrow!!! I'm getting pretty peed off with all this I must say. Touch wood the bleeding has slowed to spotting and there are only dull aches now, but I spose that's normal. She told me to go to casualty if I had pain or more heavy bleeding and geez, you know I just don't think that's quite good enough. I should be getting a phone call soon re the levels. She seemed more interested in my daughter, told me she was the most beautiful child she's seen in the flesh and all that! Maybe they don't care cos I'm old and they don't think peanut will hang in there anyway? It's really quite depressing sitting there with about 50 pregnant women and everyone walking out with a bounty bag! I want a bloody bounty bag! Anyway, I'll update you with my levels after they call, they were 290 on Tuesday, no yesterday? Oh I dunno. Just wanna scream! *vent over* :)
M-a
Ah sweety, :fingerscrossed: for rising levels for you!!
I would say the middy was a bit blaze` as didnt want to get your hopes up yaknow? Keeping her self non committal to it all and not saying much..
Yaknow when I bled with Katie (twice) both times I was also left feeling the treatment just wasnt good enough..Their way of thinking is at such a early stage there is nothing that can be done so why try?? Sh!tty I know but must be how they do it now every where by the sounds of it.
Hopefully all is well and you also get your u/s.
I dont want give false hope but still hoping all turns out well xxxx ( HUGS )!!
Amy: Xmas plans...This Sunday is Xmas lunch cruise down the river, paid for by the iL's as another pressie, they already paid for tint on the new car for xmas. Oh and telling them off engagement then too hehe, should be fun and most unexpected as we have never spoken of marriage etc.

What a great Xmas lunch idea..a cruise. What great IL's you have.
We are having a very very quiet one here on Xmas day. I am praying for another cold one as the last few have been unseasonably cold on Xmas day and we have had to move the party indoors. Fine by me..lol.
Nothing going on here. I told hubby I feel odd today though but can't put my finger on it. Probably nothing even though I want it to be something..*sigh*..just watching the clock and sensing any body changes. The waiting is interminable.
Hugs for a great weekend.

Well not long now girls 2 more sleeps.....I have been writing a list for the last week and tomorrow hubby and i will start to pack the cases .....we will shop while we are up there....while I was at the shops yesterday I bought the xmas balls with Matthews name on it and I couldnt resist I bought 1 for my g/f little girl gosh they look good....whilst I was in the center my girl friend Kathy popped into Micheal Hill jewelers and she bought some silver studs for $9.00 so I bought a pair too......... you never know if you might need a pressie and that was so cheap and they look nice too........annnnnnnnnnddddddddddddd while I was there I looked at a ring ....I like the ones that are just 1 but have like 3 rows of diamonds ....sssoooooo I tried one on...ooohhhh it looked so nice (as they all do) I think I have already said we have been married just over 4 years ....but I haven't worn my rings for 3 years as I'm so fat......anyway I didn't buy it......BUT when hubby came home I just showed him the ear-ring box and said " I really liked this ring today and it was 10% deposit and you pay it off for 12 months" well he looked at me and said (are you ready girls????!!!!!) " OHH OK" and I'm like but I didn't buy it!!!!! Maybe I should go buy it as he didn't look too worried...but I don't have $350 for the deposit......LOL we have a friend who works in a jewelry shop so she can get it cheaper than $3500. So I will buy one in the new year now!!!!!
Anyway lovely ladies have a great weekend and I will see you in a weeks time.
Hope all is well with you M-a and you have the answers you need.
Buy all and be happy http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/images/smilies/flowerz.gif

Shaz, Have a lovely time. yep will txt you if need to.
Amy: hows things?
M-a: How did it go the other day hun?
I went to purchase a smaller pram yesterday, a sort of stroller but not the real thin compact ones if you know what I mean.
more something thats easier to fold and lighter than the steelcraft orbit one I have but still comfy etc.
Anyhow!! I chose one and when I got home it was the wrong one given to me.
This is a 3 wheeler, which I always said I hated lol .Purchased was a 4 wheeler, with canopy. the nifty ones you can fold up and sling over back of chair...
but I love it! and its not so much a stroller, more a small pram, so doesnt fold as I wanted, but it folds smaller than our other and easier! and about 1/3 of the weight, so decided to keep it hehe, oh and worth $70 more and has a nifty drink holder lol

Another win! Just got back from furniture shop, do yous remember when I got my new black lounge, well one of the recliners went back for repairs, long story short it got "lost" and when found and delivered it was 3 shades lighter, so left in the sun somewhere, not impressed I ring up and tell him so, he offers to find another..none...offers to replace whole lounge...none left no more stock of black...can have in light blue?? No I dont want light blue..the ending?..I got a dark blue but a nicer lounge..worth 300 more than we paid for other and sturdier.
Still wanted black but they had absolutely nothing in black in any suite.
ah well, got a nice new much sturdier lounge for the same cost..
Heres a pic of how it came back

Congrats on the bonuses Vicki! What a good weekend.
Did you see that piece on ACA a little while back about how even brand new furniture has been touched up before it gets to you? You've gotta wonder where they put your chair though in order for it to have faded so much in a short space of time. Glad you got satisfaction in the end.
Things are rollicking along here. Still tired, baby not as active as previous but still has busy times. Because it is way bigger now I can actually feel the foot shape kicking to the surface of the skin..bizarre but fun. I am starting to worry about how big this kid is going to be. I am thinking HUGE! lol..Hope it has a little head and shoulders :)
The family have started a lottery of when I will have it. Selia reckons the 11th, Brittany the 13th, me the 14th, Lachlan the 17th, and dh chose the 24th!!. Suffice it to say I am not speaking to him..hehehe..I said that's mean to want me to be that overdue but he said although he doesn't want to have to wait that long it is his grandfather's bday after all (sadly his gfather passed away on the 23/12 last year..only one day before he turned 90. Thankfully though we had travelled to QLD to celebrate it the week prior).
Can't feel any obvious signs of anything happening toward labour. Hope it starts soon.
Hugs,
Amy:)
P.S. Looking forward to hearing from Rita, Tracey, and M-a. Hope you are all well lovelies.
Aw Amy, That actually sounds rather cute of DH to want on that day.
DS1 was born the day My grandfather died :(
We knew he was dying as he had cancer but didnt expect it then, I also wasnt told until I got home as Dad felt it would sadden things too much for me. My ds1 loves the fact he was born that day, makes that day all the more special for all of us.
Oh and please dont hate me! But the 24th hmm also miss K's birthday lol. I think ill go with dh on this one. only cos its special for me and would be lovely to be exactly a yr apart (* ducks for cover *)
One day when we meet they will have that in common.
If baby arrives 23rd, the day he passed, will also be special like my ds1 :hugs:
The river cruise was lovely!!!
There is some new pics on my album if you want to see.
The one with Katie "ready to go" oh dear, I think my little baby has gone and have a little lady now. She looks ever so grown up.
Hope your feeling well, feet up and rested!!!!
Take care, am off to rest up myself..sun & that fresh air on the cruise makes me tired

I so forgot it was Katie's b'day on the 24th..would be nice and all..but I am so beyond this pregnancy. I am tired and not sleeping the best now, plus the fact that by the weekend it will hot up again. Forgive me if I go early..lol. I am just in a tearing hurry to see this little munchkin.
That new pic does show Katie is growing up. My kids are still pretty bald at that age but Katie has such lovely hair and she looks so cute with the clip in it. Do you pinch yourself and wonder where that time has gone?
How is your ds#2 progressing with his exams? Is there a formalised standard exam he has to sit externally or is he able to do it at home?
Glad you enjoyed your night on the river. Not having to cook yourself is the first bonus, but looking out over the river as you eat would be just lovely.
I went out for coffee with a friend today and we walked the length and breadth of the shopping centre. I am so done-in now and looking forward to bed tonight. The house is in tatters and I want so much to dig in and put it back to rights but I cannot manage much without the need for a sit down. Brittany said she will come and stay over and give me a hand cleaning this week..God bless her little cotton socks!
Off to check a few more messages and then back to sitting down..lol.
Hugs,
Amy:)
Aw Amy, Hope you got some rest later?
Yes bless your dd, what a lovely girl she is!!!
Yes, Ill forgive you if you go sooner lol
The wanting it to be over is still very fresh in my mind..You didnt suffer SPD this time did you?
I was saying to DF your new avatar you look ready to pop there hun!
When I took that photo I got ever so teary that she was so grown up and not a baby..Yes I did think where the time had gone! Actually ds1 is 26 on the 20th..WHERE DID THAT GO??!! lol
DS2, no formal exams..Could sit the year 11's but really..Hes no where near that standard for a passing grade..He was and is so far behind..Teaching him is really difficult! The decision is now to put him into the work force and learn from there..hey! didnt do me any harm..I left 3/4 to yr 8! Went on the travel with parents round oz and was suppose to do correspondence but ended up working instead.
Lied about my age, said I was 16 when I was 14, by the time they were yelling for a copy of birth cert we were moving on to the next town/state..
anyhow, figure its the best option for him, he just wont sit and learn happily..well no one does happily but you know what I mean..Mention school work and he turns into the grump with a big G and a big attitude.
Am hoping out there in the "real Life" will give him the rest of the knowledge and experience to do well in life.
I maybe wasnt the best teacher but I was the only one in the end he would sit with and at least try.
That school really mucked him up!
We have a Perth xmas meet tomorrow at one the jan07 bubs houses, will be fun!!!
Hope you get a very rested and peaceful night hun..take care.
ps: Job interview cleaning the mining planes on wednesday..wish me luck!!! Sounds fun actually

Hey hon,
I managed to get a fairly good night sleep although the four bladder breaks a night are a bother. Thankfully we are nearing the end as I don't think the donor bellybutton can hold out much longer..lol. Tell your hubby I am not so much going to pop, but burst all over the walls and carpets!
I am so tired and emotional today but then again it is really overcast and cool. I am almost beyond the walking to school caper and may get Brittany to take over toward the end of the week. The kids have their school Christmas concert and family picnic this Thursday night so anytime after that I will happily give birth. Only a week and a half til school is out for the hols.
I understand your ds#2 needing to get out into the real world if he is not coping with study as I surely went through it with Brittany. Remember that many a magnate or tycoon never went past the 9th grade. It is just sad that the bullies drove him to this and the high schools either don't know how to stop it or sadly have their hands tied because the kids have more rights than the adults now.
As to your ds#1 turning 26, see that would be a problem for me frankly. Brittany is going 21 in a few months time and it is getting harder for me to get away with saying I am 24 and be able to rationalise how my child is so old *sigh*. Once she overtakes me in age I will start telling ppl she is my mother..lololol..or get her to start dressing way younger and try to fob her off as ten again!
Has your ds organised a swinging party for his bday?
Good luck with the interview Vicki. The job does sound interesting hon and you get to be out being your own person for a time. Let us know how it goes.
I am off to lay down for a few more mins before wandering up to the school. It is a very slow plod now.
Hugs on this dreary Tuesday,
Amy:)
Just a quick one to absolutely ROFL @ your avatar labour hint #5!!!:laughing:
back tomorrow, ds1 is taking my comp to "add my xmas pressie" hmmmm wonder which bit it is???!
Till then take it easy hun!

hehehe..dh came home from work today suggesting this to be the best way to bring on labour. That guy is a one in a million I tell ya! He even stayed to give me moral support while he drank his cup of tea! ;)
OK..I lie..it was a staged pic taken while he mowed..lololol.
Gotta wonder what the add-on to your puter is going to be..woohooo!
Hugs,
Amy:)
Add on??!! Thats was a understatement!
New motherboard, cpu and 2 gig ram PLUS new video card tomorrow!!!
How lucky am I.
Now have the best comp in the house..hmm will have to keep ds2 off it now lol.
The joys of having a family member in the computer industry.
I GOT THE JOB!!! :smiliedance:
Start Monday! He gave me the position there and then, am pretty chuffed with myself lol
There is two main shifts one is 10.5 hrs other is 4.5. The 10 hr one isnt constant cleaning, in between planes you sit and chat!
There are 2 shifts. 330am - 8am. and Mum is going to come here at 6am (when DF leaves) until I get home at 815. NO need to even wake her.
The other is the 10+ hr shift, 330pm-2amish.
Mum will come here until DF home at 4pm and he will do the dinner/bath/bed routine himself.
There are days off ranging from 2-5 in a row so thats really great too.
Am really looking forward to it,
oh and not mining planes, is just owned by the mining company. Its actually international planes, like Qantas etc.

Not much going on here. I did go over to the birthing centre this morning just to ensure baby is head down and bum up. I have had a few strange feelings and just wanted to check. They confirmed that it is head down *phew*. One of the midwives thinks it will be big but the other thinks not so *shrugs*..guess we will wait and see.
The middy suggested I walk up hills to get baby in line..Brittany heard that walking sideways up stairs is just as effective..the middy agreed..so Brittany had me walking up four flights of stairs before we left the hospital..lol..I am sooo tired now.
Off to pick up the basinette and capsule I have hired..now just need a baby to go into them.
Praying it is soon.
Hugs to all,
Amy:)

Well, due date came and went yesterday without incident *sob* and doesn't feel like anything is happening in a hurry today either.
Now I will have to walk the kids to school tomorrow and face those mothers who are bound to comment..lol.
I am so over this waiting.:hair:
Amy:)
Quickly here as Katie has a head cold and not so well atm Both dead tired with no sleep last night
Amy. Am passed Ov time so can do ALL fingers and toes and everything crossed for you to go asap!!
:fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:
uhoh crying..try to get back later!
Sorry I've not updated, Amy I was hoping not to see you here iykwim ;) But as I said I can sympathise fully.
I had the methotrexate injection last Sat. Two blood tests later and my levels are still rising, hmmphh :( Going in for another BT tomorrow if they are still on the rise I get nuked a second time fanbloodytastic, then I have to wait like 6 months before ttc again I think. This whole thing has left me so tired and sick and sad, if I have to have another injection I'm going to be useless for Christmas and sadder for the wait.
Anyway, I'll check in and let you know when I can, they might call me back in on Tues for the next nuke if I have to have one.
Merry Christmas everyone until next I check in :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS LOVELIES
Sorry to hear you have to work Vicki. I can understand how that would make you really sad. Shame they need planes cleaned on Christmas day of all days..you think one day away wouldn't hurt anyone. Will you get the next few days with the family?
We are having the quietest Christmas ever here. It is just the six of us and we struggled up around 7am, watched the kids open pressies, cooked up all of the meats, had a leisurely lunch, and an afternoon nap. I am usually rushing about feeding an extra ten ppl but this year I wanted just Mal and the kids. It has been really relaxed.
Hope Santa has been kind to everyone. I bought a shared pressie for Mal and I. It is a transmitter/receiver thing that allows us to watch the Foxtel in the bedroom without wiring up a new set top box. It is awesome! No more putting up with off season free-to-air ****..lol.
Hugs. Am off to feed Dane..(actually, do I do anything else these days?? lol). I feel like a walking bb.
Merry Xmas to all.

Hello Shaz..hope you had a great catchup with your old friend. I have an ex boyfriend living here in Canberra. We lived together in Brisbane when I was 17..long time ago..lol. He and his family usually spend xmas day with us, just not this year due to Dane's arrival.
Nothing much going on here. Dane soaks up most of the time with feeding and changing. He has shown a distinct dislike to baths so last night I was gearing up for him to dislike the shower but he LOVED it! He didn't want to get out and he had a ball sucking the water off his hands..lol.
My midwife has discharged me this morning so I will no longer have home visits. Probably have a visit from the maternal child health nurse next week but things are going so well I am in no hurry.
Dane was weighed today and he is slowly coming back up toward his birth weight, has plenty of wet and dirty nappies, and sleeps well, so the bfeeding must be working ok. I wish I had got it this right with the other kids but they survived formula just fine.
Hugs to everyone as we approach the weekend.
Amy:)
Amy: Lovely to hear the BF'ing is going so well for you this time round! hehe the shower sounds wonderful, glad he enjoyed it.
Shaz: Hope you had a lovely day catching up with your friend, Its great to hear of a friendship that long. Have lost all mine over the years as we moved too much and you know how easy can be to lose contact.
Today we sort of set a date for the wedding.
It will be May 2008 when DF's Pappy comes over from England for his every 2 yr visit. He stays for the whole of May so it will be then sometime.
Just have to see when I can get a week off work
Speaking of such, Yes Amy, I had xmas till 11am with the family and again same boxing day but now have 4 days off!!! Boy do I need it, Im knackered!
anyhow, must be nap time! Still trying to catch up, am almost there lol I think by tomorrow I should feel human again.
Love to all!
back later
hiya girls!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!:smiliedance:hope all's going well with you all.....great to hear that the b/feeding is going so well amy. the ABA website is great always excellent for support.
they have a great forum as well , really worth a look.
well, :bfn: for me and day 1 af lots of flooding?? extra heavy. maybe i am perimenopausal? looks like ivf for us....totally petrified i must say.
tabby; hope you're not working too hard!
how many hours do you normally do per shift?
well, hope everyone has a great new years eve/new year.
bye for now ,
tracey.
Tracey, Sorry to hear of the bfn and heavy AF!
All fingers crossed for a successful ivf for you.
I have 2 shifts, one is a am shift of 5 hrs = 330am -830am and the other is a 11+ hr arvo/night shift from 330pm - 2am (usually 230). Very cushy though as there is a 4-5 hr break in there where we are paid to chat/ sleep / whatever lol. So now I have a doona and pillow in the car on the ready.
Am coming down with a head cold again and am hoping its mild like the last one.

WISHING EVERYONE A HAPPY NEW YEAR (for tomorrow). I hope the new year brings you all you need and most of what you want too :)
Tracey: You may not end up needing ivf but if you do hon then we will be here to ride the ups and (hopefully only a few) downs with you.
Vicki: Look after yourself hon..no good being sick.
I used to work shift work. With night shifts there were four of us on so two would sleep half the night while the other two worked, then switch over at half time. The trouble was, if I had the first sleep of the night I slept so deeply that it took them forever to wake me up..eek.
Have a great new years eve..and hope to see all the MIA posters back in here next year *waves to Rita, Jacqui, M-a, and other's who have gone quiet on us*.
Hugs to all,
