hi guys
regarding food
kane has 3 or 4 bottles of about 280mls of milk. he loves his moo juice (yes fully on cows milk) he even lays there sucking empty bottles for ages. thats it boy bring on the gas
for b/fast he either sucks nutella off toast, cocoa weetbix/ plain weetbix. ive tried rice bubbles but its more mess than i can handle
morning tea. loves his biscuits and he may throw some sultanas around
lunch he likes devon, mcdonalds/kfc lol, um wat ever i can grab really. it may be some tinned corn with some grated cheese washed down with a yogurt
dinner it maybe wat we are eating or those babies tin meals or fresh ones in the cold section. he likes tuna :barf:(i block my nose for that one)
we have finally started sleeping thru. he is in a big bed now. its a double bunk but i have to sell it to buy 2 single beds as the boys will be sharing a room. atm jake sleeps with dad in our room and i sleep with kane in his double bed. yes we are a romantic pair but with one bed wats one to do and i cant afford it for ages so i will prob be sleeping with kane till he is a teen lol
bec i remeber you asking wen will we stop thinking they are cute...in their teens?? no hon it comes long before that lol. about 4/5 they are so less cute and just annoying
dp finally got a full time job. it pays poo but not that i would tell him that. im like great hon
he is a green keeper for a golf course.
my mate has set up an ironing business and she wants me to work for her next year picking my own days , hours. than wen she moves a year later i have the optuion of buying her out. sounds promising...boring but something to do around the kids. working is so much harder once the kids are in big school. i mean wat jobs can you do from 9-2.30 ??? anyway must go
toodles
jackie personally i think you have bought keanu enough. they dont understand christmas till atleast 3 and a half. its more for our pleasure atm
kane is getting no where as much as keanu is.

we haven't got a lot of toys either as he is the first so easier to buy at once. lol....
i think ill get the playdoh and leave it at that...:)
Hi guys,
If anyone's bored I have put some new pics on our page...Kimba you know it was well iver a month before I noticed your comments??
BBL for a real chat!
Hi All
Bec the pics are great. Ella is so cute especially walking around like that and those cakes are funny!
Kimba - I don't worry about food so much now. I think the most important thing is that she has something to eat and if it is just bread for a meal then oh well!! I try to give her some fruit or veges every day and apart from that she eats mainly what we do. If we are having something spicy (like indian or something) I usually cook her up some pasta or a chicken burger and veges. I am lucky Kayley is a pretty good eater and doesn't refuse much but sometimes she doesn't feel like what I give her (like us adults I guess)! There are some great prepackaged stuff in the supermarkets now as well when you are on the run. I love those sachets of fruit that they can just suck out or you squeeze in their mouths; cheese and yoghurt pops; little sachets of pasta and stuff. And yeah Kayley gets chips and chocolate and all that bad stuff - just not all of the time!!
Secret Santa :xmas: - Thankyou so much for Kayley's prezzie (you know who you are)!! Unfortunately I put it under the tree yesterday after we put the tree up and she opened it this morning while I wasn't watching - the little bugger!! It is wrapped up again now despite the tears and protests!!!
Kayley is still not walking. She can take a step here and there between things but only when she doesn't notice. Normally she gets scared and sits down and crawls. I refuse to give her 2 fingers anymore though so she survives walking with the one hand. I think when she decides she can walk she will start running!!
Xmas pressies :noel: - I have no idea what to get!! I already have things to put in a stocking (colour book, crayons, books etc). I have a bucket and spade set for summer at Nana's and a little wooden thing you push on a stick but I am a bit stuck for ideas now. I am thinking play dough (although I think Kayley will eat it so I am not sure if it is better to make it) and maybe a wiggles activity centre or something. Would love to hear everyone else's ideas!!
Is everyone moving towards toddler beds already? I was going to wait around 6 months or so until our new house is built (Kayley would not stay in one at the moment anyway)!
Well I have rambled enough.
Best wishes to you all!!

beck75- Keanu is the same with the walking, it looks like he wants to but gets scared and crawls...
On the toddler bed thing...we got keanus for a bargain price, he wont go into it until he is walking properyl/confidently....they say from 15 months for the type of bed we have bough. we figured he can have it as a xmas present and we will just store it away til he is big enough...so no we are still going to be using the cot for a while yet, maybe another 6 months...?
And i agree with the food...i try to give keanu fruit or beg each day....then he eats whatever we eat....again like beck said, if we are having something spicy or un eatable for keanu we cook something else up for him.
Playdough will be great Beck - i am going to buy playdough and cutters etc...HOWEVER i will also make my own playdough - but it doesn't last long...the playdough you buy lasts forever...so that's my reasoning...but yep definitley make it....playdough is a great textile experience....other things like bird seed in bowls when outside is great for textile experiences, shaving cream with powder paint mixed in.....there are so many fun things we can start doing now they are getting older...the shaving cream one is great let them smudge it all over the table then lay paper ontop of it and it come out like a painitng....great gift ideas...
anyway enough ramble from me lol...
i have been flat chat cleaning...
xoxox
Jackie - good job getting the toddler bed for a bargain. I havent even considered that as an upcoming expense. Im sure the cot will be claimed by someone else and force me into upgrading her.
You know, with suggestions like coloured shaving cream as a toy, im not suprised you are flat chat cleaning! Does sound fun though. Wonder if i should give it a go. Outside. With the hose ready.
Beck - lol at rewrapping it. Does that make you the Grinch that preserved xmas? :xmas:
Im not doing stockings since we always just filled them with candy anyway. Ill save time and eat the candy on xmas eve. I have a couple presents in the cupboard all wrapped up. She might get one more from me, if she's lucky. At the mo she's getting a doodlepro and a xylophone. She played with a doodlepro at mums house and thought it was awesome so i had to get her own.
For the tree..well...All my 'up places' are full, and i dont own a tree, so im saving the money, drawing one, and sticking it to the wall. Ive cut out the tree shape, and its crooked of course. Ill decorate it tomorrow. Abbey wont care yet, and she can tell her therapist all about how mummy did xmas wrong.
I kind of envy our non-walking mummas. My sweet pancake has decided being one year old is all good and well, but its more fun to be 2. So now she does little kid stuff. She can count 'two shoes' and puts mummy's on and stumbles around, she can climb on and off her bouncy zebra, up and down the little steps outside, and have lots of tantrums of course. I'm going to have to get one of those backpack leash things for out and about as she gets frustrated by sitting in her pram for too long now. Im not allowed to hold her hand, and she's not allowed to run away, so leash it is!
We're having interesting sleep times. I put her down around 6-7, she wakes after 40 min and has a tanty that im not there, and then i have to do kind of controlled contrying/ignoring tantrums and convince her to sleep in her own bed. She doesnt have to stay there all night, just not demand i go to bed too.
Re food - She loves her weetbix fruity things, corn flakes, just right, pretty much all cereals. If i put a few slices on banana on there she tends to eat more of it. No sugar on top of course. I try and give her vegies with some meat a few times a week, but as soon as she tastes something she doesnt like she starts throwing food overboard. She isnt done, and given the chance she would sit on the floor and eat it from there instead (floor flavoured). If i take her bowl away and feed her the bits i know she likes she will go back to eating nicely. I think she also does it to get my attention as i often use her being trapped in a chair as busy time. Lunch i leave what she doesnt eat for another hour and she usually comes back to it.
Maybe set up a lunchtime grazing centre for fussy eaters? Not enough to make them too full for dinner, just enough to squeeze some nutrients in on their terms. Just an idea that works for me. Of course, nothing that can spoil and make them unwell.
Ok, ive rabbited on for long enough and my wheatbag is cooling, so it must be dinnertime.
ta-toodles

hey m_kelly.....that us a great idea with the christmas tree thing...we bought a fake one for $5 last year like a cupla days before christmas from Carzy clarks....that's it in my Avatat...had decoartions on it...a bargain lol...so we thut we may as well put it up...and the only spot was on top of the printer on top of the filing cabinet...by next year he'll be able to reach it lol.
a doodlepro sounds great i had thut of that...i am trying to download the toysrys catalog to have a look...the silly thing...arhg
better go got a bust day today. DP has 4 days off YAY! we are kinda house sitting and having a bbq lunch with friends and he never gets weekend days off...
my brother has some bad newd his ex dropped on him yesterday so waiting to hear it...
she is leaving wa and coming back to qld...leaving the kids with my brother and his fiance....they will be a lot better off, as she never puts them first...but still she is there mum and the emotional impact it will have on them is very sad...apparently she asked her bf to marry her and she wants to have his baby (she can't take care of her 2 kids, lat alone another)....i reckon the news is that she is already pregnant....will have to wait and see....shall be interesting, lucky the boys have lovely marisa as a step mum who puts their needs first :) Just very very sad
Hmm, Jet must be one of the only babies I know who doesn't like homemade pasta! LOL. Mind you he loves tinned spaghetti in all forms. Maybe I just need to cook his pasta till it's practically mush...like the tinned stuff. Heh.
that said, I did have a bit of a breakthrough yesterday getting him to eat some homemade mini pasta with tomato supreme and tuna mixed through it. Not that this is really much different from supermarket toddler food, but I just feel better knowing it's something I made...:o
He also liked the fish fingers I gave him :yelclap: I hadn't given him those before, because I'm trying to stay away from crumbed/ fried stuff - I'm so paranoid he's going to end up a fatty like me! But he does get lots of fruit, and some form of veg every day, plus cereal, meat, yogurt, bread or crackers, and minimal sugar/ fatty/ salty stuff (he hasn't had nutella yet and I intend to keep it that way for a while!), so I guess he's doing OK...
Re: Christmas presents, we're getting Jet a trike with the parent handle, still not sure which brand to buy, Eurotrike, Smart Trike, or Berchet. Depends which one we can find on sale between now and Christmas I guess! ToysrUs had the Smart Trike on sale a few weeks back but they'd sold out when I got there. Any suggestions from those who've got one? We've also got him some other bits and pieces like a xylophone and I can't even remember what else I laybyed, LOL. I still want to get him some non-toxic fat crayons and textas.
Playdoh I'm not buying yet because he still just eats it (no matter how much salt we put in) so I'll just make my own till that stops...
Toddler Beds, hadn't even thought of it yet! I wasn't planning to shift Jet into a big bed until he was closer to 2 or climbing out of his cot (whichever came first), or of course if I needed the cot for #2 (not likely for a while yet). No way would Jet stay put at bedtime if I put him in a big bed at the moment! Another reason to wait a bit longer is that we want to just put him into a normal bed from the start, rather than buying a toddler bed then having to buy another bed later...
Jackie - poor kids, but if that's what she's like then it's probably much better for them if they're with their dad and a stepmum who loves them. Thanks for the shaving foam idea will have to give that a go!
Michelle - I hear you on skipping one and going straight to 2, Jet is a bit the same. It's fun isn't it!
Beck - good on you for re-wrapping the present I probably just would have let her keep it (it's not like they know the difference anyway). I'm with you on waiting another 6 months or so for a big bed.
Bec - gorgeous photos! ella is such a honey :)
Kimba - we have an Eurotrike for Kayley (have a look at my pics as there are a couple on there). Seems OK. Has a 3 point harness. It came from Flybuys if you have one of those!
Hmmmmm - Xylophone and a Doodle Pro sounds good!!
 everyone,
I know, I know...I've been pretty slack in the posting department lately. I'm not going to go into excuses, I'm just going to blame it one being pregnant with 3 small children!!
So, I'm going to try and catch up.....TRY!
Playdoh: I've bought the play doh for my children. They love it, and for the small price to pay, it's easier then making it!! J hasn't really got into yet, he more so enjoys the cutters, etc that goes with it!
Toddler Beds: We put M into a bed at 15 months...and paid for it until about 6 months ago!! We found it was way too early, and it really helped develop some terrible sleeping habits - such as getting out of bed 1000 times a night, etc. So, we left T in his cot a little longer, and didn't put him into a bed until a little after he turned 2. We couldn't wait much longer as we needed the cot for J. J is still in the cot, and he will be for at least another 12 months....until this one needs the cot, lol! T is in a bed that is actually a top bunk, unattached, so it has bed rails on both sides. Works a treat as he moves around constantly in his sleep.
Christmas presents: We have gone way too far overboard with the children's presents this year!! I just love giving them gifts, and to see their little faces light up really makes my day! They will be getting a trampoline (safety enclosed of course), and we gave them their Wii a week or so ago - I couldn't wait any longer to play it!! - M is getting a bike and too many other smaller presents to mention, T is getting a big truck set and, again, too many smaller presents to mention. J is not going to be so lucky, lol. We already have a toy room full of toys, a rumpus room full of toys, and 2 bedrooms full of toys, so little J will just be getting a couple of things of us this year. Sounds mean doesn't it? He's getting the Fisher Price bouncy zebra thing, and some little things from a toy order that I have coming.
Food: J has been really fussy with his food lately, which is not like him at all. I think we may have some more teeth on the move. He now absolutely hates his weetbix, so I'm really starting to get stuck on breakfast foods for him. He loves gnocci, and anything pasta related. He also likes chicken shaslicks with rice, meatballs, fresh grilled fish and calamari, stew of any kind, soups of any flavour. I give him whatever we are having on most days, except on fish and chip night when he will get something a little healthier.
Oh, before I forget - if a child doesn't like a food that is offered, offer it again up to 10 more times (on different occasions). It can sometimes take this long for a childs palate to develop a taste for that food. If they won't eat it after that, they simply don't like it, and perhaps it should stop being offere. I know if I don't like a food, I won't eat it regardless of how many times it's served up to me, lol!
Milk: J is drinking 3 cups of 175ml S26 Gold Toddler formula. He has one before breakfast, after lunch and before bed at night. I have just today mixed half cows milk with his lunchtime bottle and he seems to be doing ok with it.
Secret Santa: I sent mine off a good couple of weeks ago now, and still haven't read of it being received....Could we please post when we have received have our gifts? I'm hoping the one I sent hasn't been lost in the post.
I still have a non walker. He has taken approx 6 steps to me today and was very proud of himself shouting YAY when he reached me, lol! I will start encouraging it more each day, but he'll take off when he's ready.
J is also still sitting at 6 teeth. With all of the dribbling he's been doing, and the fussy food intake, I'm sure there will be some more before Christmas. He'll need them to get through his big Christmas lunch, lol!
We put the Christmas tree up today. I let the boys decorate it all by themselves. They had a ball, singing 'Santa Clause is coming to town' whilst decorating. It was so sweet to watch. J has visited the tree just the once, and just pulled on some of the lower decorations, before crawling off and finding something else to do. I did re arrange the lounge room to find a spot for it though, and have sort of put it behind the couch, so it's a bit of a further crawl for him to get it...perhaps he's just too lazy to bother with it, lol!
Kimba: We have a Smart Trike for J. He loves it, and so do I! I can't compare it the to others as I haven't used them, but I can say that the Smart Trike is very easy to move around, and can be taken over concrete, road, grass, paving, and stones....that's all we've tried!
Best be off to get dinner prepared. I'll try and pop in more often from now on....Now I'm starting to feel a little better
:flowerz:
We had a little milestone today - first poo in the bath! I thought it was pretty damn funny. Actually it's kind of amazing that this is the first time it's happened, in almost 14 months. DH was freaking out and wanting to scrub out the bath  whereas I was just thankful that Jet didn't wait till after I'd put him to bed for the evening - clever boy ;)
Went to ToysRUs this afternoon, OMG, BIG MISTAKE. It was so hectic, people and toys and boxes everywhere, nothing was where it was meant to be, staff were nowhere to be found, no prices on anything...all we wanted was to check out some trikes and see which one Jet liked, but do you think they even had them on display? We eventually found a pink Smart Trike someone had dragged right to the other end of the store, and when I put Jet on it he LOVED it :yelclap: but they only had pink ones left, so you can imagine what DH thought of that   So yeah now I'm trying to hunt one down elsewhere. No idea where else to buy them though! can't find them online either, and there's never any on eBay either which is kind of strange...
Spent the afternoon visiting friends and Jet was a perfectly behaved angel (he knows when he's on show!) and played with my friend's 6 year old son for hours. I suppose it helped that they both love wrestling and playing with buckets of ice/ water! LOL. Jet did however try to denude the hostess' Christmas tree of its baubles, so I'm glad we didn't bother with our own this year...
anyway blah blah just felt like telling someone about my 'exciting' day. Hope you all had a good weekend!
Sarah - good to hear you're feeling a bit better. I don't think it's mean not to get Jarvis too many things. He won't know the difference, and at this age I think it's better to just give a couple of things at a time. We went overboard last year and Jet is only just now playing with some of those toys with any real interest! (like his shape sorter and peg block/ hammer thing)
Beck - thanks for the Eurotrike recommendation, I just want to find one somewhere that Jet can at least try out first. ToysRUs had none, I might try Target...

Mornin ladies:wave:
Wow the christmas month already... cant believe this year has just flown by.
I decided not to put my big chrissy tree up this year and am going with a small one that can be put up high away from little hands and little mouths!!
RE PRESENTS: We have a trike with handle as well, a doodleproo, a ride on thingy for oma's house, a wooden letter stand thing , a musical teaset, and a cababge patch doll but I am consdiering holding onto that for next year. And a few other bits and pieces.
RE BOTTLES: We have morning milk and night milk and sometimes a day milk after lunch, but usually just the 2 milk drinks and the rest of the day is water.
RE BIG BEDS: It will be another year before I have Darc in a big bed for sure.
RE WALKING: We still dont walk on our own but we have taken a few drunken steps maybe 5 in a row, but Darc is happy to walk holding onto one handed so I assume it wont be too far off, maybe by christmas.
RE FOOD: I am so slack compared to my neurotic babyfood making days. I now give her whatever I can make up quickly, but do try to make sure she has at least one piece of fruit a day and a few veiges whether it be fresh made or jar food.
RE SECRET SANTA: Thanks to Darcy's secret santa,We got it on thursday and I have been a good mummy and not opened it!!!
Ok so whats new at this house.
Went to surgeon again and he has put off an operation as the splints I wear at night are keeping the symptoms at bay which is terrific.
Really stressed out about our house situation ATM. I wont go into details and bore you all but its not panning out as we would have hoped:hair:
I took Darcy to the big pool yesterday and she absolutely loved it, we havent been in a pool since she was 6 months old so I was wondering what she would be like but she went great:thumbsup:
Well I have 3 days off now so I am going to get my chrissy shopping finished so thats out of the way, look for somwhere to live, and catch up on some house work... Hope everyone has a terrific day.........xxx:xmas:
Hi everybody,
I had the nicest day yesterday - we put up the tree and decorations (and consequently Ella has two new words... "wow" and "pretty" said in tones of awe!) Our tree is on top of our dining table in the corner, as we usually eat in the kitchen, so it's safe. I also made my three Christmas cakes -bit late this year - so the house smelled great.
As for pressies - we won't be buying her much as she'll be getting presents from 9 family members anyway! We'll get her something she can ride on for her big pressie, and then just some little things in her stocking. She is going to LOVE having all that wrapping paper to play with.
Jeez Mary-Ann, that's quite a to-do list you've got at the bottom of your post! Good luck, I hope it's not too stressful!
 Kimba, I'm still waiting for that milestone! I give Ella fish fingers sometimes on the weekend too, but I cut them up and mix them with salad. She generally picks it all out and leaves the salad, but I figure she's getting used to the idea! And she tries one or two bits of green stuff every time. Thanks for the comment on the photos too!
Sarah I think your excuse for not visiting is more like a reason... pretty vaild!
Oh gotta go and do some work!!!

Hi Ladies, Just wanted to pop in and say hi!
We are all moved, but on dial up at the moment, and it is driving me crazy so you won't see me around much till I get my precious broad band back!
No personals- you guys have been so busy posting!
But- re:
Food- Kimba I am so apranoid bout the amount of processed food Nedd gets too, but i am seriuosly trying to chill out bout it...he eats really well but loves all the things you listed Jet loves- such as biscuits, tinned spag, processed meats (won't eat "fresh" meat either) vegies only with cheese sauce....he LOVES pasta- and would live on it- I give him latina fresh ravioli- maybe this might work? And gnocchi- guzzles that.
Also loves his fruit, would eat it all day if I let him.
Also re xmas- we have not given Nedd much at all, I really can't be bothered having a trillion toys lying around that never get played with so we are mega stingy in this household! I have a few things on layby (can't even remember what they are) and I'll get some basic stocking fillers.
Big bed- I'll be keeping Nedd in the cot as long as possible, I don't see the point in rushing him into a bed.
Thanks SS! Nedd received his pressie fri, can't wait to open it- it is his first pressie.
Xmas tree- we aren't putting ours up this year either, just hanging some tinsel around and some lights. It was easier to pack it into storage and blame Nedd- I am so lazy this year!
OK, well I will try and get back on tonight to give a bit more of an update and catch up on all the happenings.
Just back from swimming and shopping and my little buddy is having a nice big sleep  although we now have a massive thunderstorm overhead, so not sure how much longer the sleep will last...but gosh the rain smells good!
I had one of those 'OMG I LOVE being a mum' moments this morning, Jet had lost something under the lounge so I lay on my belly to fish it out. While I was laying there he came and hugged my neck and kept kissing my hair and face. I said "I love you" and he was trying to copy me, he kept saying it and kissing me, then he snuggled down in front of me so we were nose to nose and gazed into my eyes while giving me big McDreamy smiles while he stroked my hair, awwww such a precious boy! :bee:
I'll have to remember this the next time he's pushing all my buttons and I'm ready to flush him down the toilet! :p
I almost caved and bought a :tree: Chrissy tree today, they had some 'real' ones at a local shop and they smelled sooooo good, but I reminded myself 1) nowhere to put it out of reach and 2) cleaning up all those needles!
Sal - glad the move is over and that you're able to start settling in. Jet is a bit hit and miss with the Latina ravioli, sometimes he loves it and other times he just plays with it :hair: Haven't tried gnocchi though so will add that to the list! I'm not so worried about the processed food issue now that I've heard that everyone else is doing the same, bit of a relief...LOL
Bec - Ella is so clever with all her words! At least she'll eat some green things, when I try to give Jet salady things like tomato, cucumber, lettuce, he just spits them out and looks at me with that 'are you trying to POISON ME, woman??' face
MaryAnne - that's so great that the splints are helping enough to stave off surgery I bet that's a huge relief for you! Sorry that the house situation isn't good, I hope it works out for you soon! Christmas shopping is a bit of a nightmare isn't it, will be glad when all mine is done and wrapped and I can just relax.
Oh just thought I'd mention as well that Daily Deals has some Dora and Fisher Price stuff pretty cheap right now, for those of you who are stuck for present ideas...!
Hi girls,
Lara sends a big :kiss:and thank you to her Secret Santa. It sounds good and she can't wait to open it. We have told Eloise that we have to send it to Santa so he can bring it to our place on Christmas Eve with all of the other presents...I love this stage where they believe anything you say. I'm going to milk it for all it's worth because it won't last for much longer.
Well I had an exciting night last night. Woke up at 2am with a shocking pain in my left side. Rang the nurse on call hotline and she suggested I head to the ED. So I had to wake mum up and get her to come and look after the girls (she lives 40mins away) while Mike and I tootled off to the hospital. We arrived around 4.30am, and left at 10am with no diagnosis, a number of maybes, but the last dr I saw thinks I may have had an ovarian cyst that has ruptured. So we're off for an ultrasound and to the GP to see if I have a UTI too. I feel so much better than I did over the weekend and last night :fingerscrossed:that the pain is gone now.
RE food: We tried Lara on fried rice last night and she loved it. Tonight we're having a tuscan beef casserole with wholegrain pasta and steamed veggies, so I thought I'd offer it to her as finger food and see how she goes and if she isn't coping I'll puree it for her. It's looking like after all her initial struggles with food, she going to be a good eater like Eloise and eat pretty much anything.
RE big bed - We're holding off on getting one too. We moved Eloise into her big bed at 18 months to get her used to it before Lara arrived. There's no need to rush with Lara as we're not even ttc until May/June next year, so Lara will be in her cot until at least 2.
RE Chrissy Presents - we have got Lara a Cabbage Patch Baby, some FP little people, more carriages for her amazing animals train and some other little stuff. Elosie has heaps more stuff, but then again she's really getting into Christmas. She keeps on asking if she can add more onto her Christmas list...how to explain that Santa won't get her everything that she wants
Better go and organise the veggies for dinner and then get ready for an early night. Tomorrow I have orientation for next year's preps, then we're off to Eloise's swimming lesson (Michael has the day off) and then we're going to the city to do a Melb Christmas :tree:(Santa Photos at Myer, the train ride, Myer Windows, the Christmas part of David Jones and the light show display at Crown Casino). Should be fun! :reindeer:
Take care...
She keeps on asking if she can add more onto her Christmas list...how to explain that Santa won't get her everything that she wants
Just say exactly that! Santa can't bring everything we want, because it wouldn't fit in his sleigh - the poor reindeer would get too tired! LOL.
When we were little we were allowed to ask the Myer Santa for ONE special thing that we wanted (usually our 'big' present) and then we'd get other smaller things as well, but I don't remember ever expecting everything on our 'list', I'm pretty sure Mum had told us that Santa would only choose a few things, so we just always expected it to be that way. We also got something that we knew was from Mum and Dad from a young age, so we didn't expect Santa to bring 'the lot'.
I also remember being told that Santa had to give presents to all the poor kids in the world and so we couldn't have ALL the things we wanted, just so that everyone could get something.
Not sure if that would work on Eloise or if she's even old enough to understand that reasoning, but maybe worth a try?
Hello!
Once I go on leave in 3 weeks, I'll actually have time to make a proper post. Sorry I haven't been very personal lately. I got to work this morning after two weeks off and it turns out I have a 9 am tomorrow deadline, so I have to work tonight. I told my boss I am not happy and am looking for another job. I still love the look on her face! :crying:
So, I have read everything but have literally 2 minutes before I have to log in and work on my latest crappy report.
RE PRESENTS: I bought the Eurotrike through creche. I love it and so does Sammy. I already gave it to him because I can't help it if I can see it here! This is why the swing set is still on layby.
RE MILK: We have one bottle before bed but a cup of cow milk at breaky and lunch. We only have a bottle if we are extremely sooky or sick.
RE BIG BEDS: Only when I have to. I don't want him escaping!
RE WALKING: Sam probably could but doesn't - yet.
RE FOOD: Just about everything but not avocado. We don't eat much processed food, so Sam eats chicken and steak with broccoli, peas, corn mash etc. LOVES corn on the cob. He does eat toast, sandwiches, pasta, rice and I have changed our own eating habits to make the meal planning suit. Lots of pasta bakes, fried rice, meat and veg - that sort of thing. Ravioli is a good quick meal and we love our tuna and vegie fritters.
RE SECRET SANTA: I've bought it but just have to get to the post office.....
I am currently drinking a beer (don't usually like it but have run out of wine) and might have another one! I recently joined the local Cross Country club, so will run all my New Zealand excesses off tomorrow afternoon.
Love to all the bubbies :baby:

Hey everyone!!

he is
weight: 8.9 kg - dr said below average...
height: 76cm - above 97th percentile
HC: 46.5cm - 50th percentile
all in all tho he said he is fine and healthy!
weight wise he isn't gaining much at all/hasn't put on much...maybe cos of all the sickness??
will just keep an eye on it...we have 2 more days of penicillin but he seems to be on the mend.
wat is ur bubs daily menu consisting of??
ie brekky, lunch and tea....just an average day...
keanu has had so far today -
5am 150 mls milk
8.00am - toast and yoghurt
11am - cruskit, yoghurt and spagehtti
5/5.30am - veges, chicken.
and he snacks thru the day on biscuits/crackers....just a 2 or 3....
i am just wondering if i am feeding him enuf. lol
ta jackie
My naughty monkey has just worked out how to climb on the couch. And on to the back of the couch and dance and sing. But she hasnt worked out how to get down, so she's lying on the arm making feeble stuck sounds. All she knows is that she doesnt like it when she falls off!
Swimming is now awesome fun. We changed to a bigger class with more kids, nice disparate age group which Abbey loves. The class is more fun as a whole as this instructor does more than have us float around and sing, and abbey really responded. Not one complaint! She even held her breath when she thought she was going underwater, even if she wasnt. We're definitely continuing.
And she finally cut her first molar. It was a yucky night of course. She got up at 4.30am after waking every hour.
Other than that, we're just us.
Jen - bit harsh having a 9am deadline you didnt know about. I bet you enjoyed the look on boss' face as you said you werent happy. Has she pulled out all stops to get you to reconsider?
Sare - I love that Eloise believed your santa line. Kids are cute when they are gullible. We had my little brother thinking calling someone a 'darling' was a swear word for ages.
Hope the pain problem turned out okay and doesnt require surgery
okay, now its after lunch and while ive been finishing this abbey is colouring her legs in with a texta. Must go be a somewhat responsible mother and fill in the gaps for her.
Michelle
 all,
DH is meant to be home now, but thanks to Tiger Airways he isn't :hissy: After working the nightshift, then driving just over 3 hours this morning to get to the airport, he was kindly told that he wasn't allowed to board the flight because he was 10 minutes late to board. From what he told me, he fought, pleaded, etc, but to no avail. We lost the fare, and he didn't get the flight. So, anybody thinking about flying Tiger.....DON'T!! I'll be sending them a not so nice email tomorrow, so lets see how they like that! BUT, thanks to the lovely gentleman at Qantas, he was able to purchase a fare on their next plane, and will hopefully arrive back in town at about 6pm. He'll be so tired by the time he gets here....will have been up for over 24 hours straight!
I was fishing around in J's mouth today, and found 2 sharp things poking out of gums, a tooth or twos distnace from his front teeth. I'm assuming these are molars?? If so, he has them! He has been a little grizzly, but not too bad, and has been off his food, but is now eating ok. Clever little boy!
J is also starting to get brave and is taking up to 8 steps now, but only when he feels like it!
The Christmas tree is still surviving! J has taken off one bauble and that's it. He likes looking at it, and watching the lights too. I won't be putting any pressies under the tree though....not because J will open them, but I know M & T will!! they stayed at Mum's on Saturday night, and they got into my neice's pressies, lol! Mum had to re-wrap!
Michelle: YAY for Abbey and her molar!! That's great news too about her loving her swimming now! She was obviously bored with the babies, lol! Watch her, this may be the start of something - after the older boys already, lol!
Jackie: On a normal day, J will eat:
Breakfast: 2 weetbix/bowl special K, 1 piece of toast, banana, and a yoghurt
Morning tea: Either a tub yoghurt and slice of cheese, a pear and an apple, or a couple of dry biscuits
Lunch: Either left overs from the night before followed by a piece of fruit and a biscuit, or a sandwich/roll and a piece a fruit, followed by a cup of milk
Afternoon tea: Cheese and biscuits or a tub of yoghurt or 2 pieces of fruit
Dinner: 1 - 2 serves of whatever I've made the family, followed by a cup of milk
Jen:  Nice to hear from you. J loves his corn on the cob too! Isn't it so cute to watch them bite it off, lol!
Sare: I love being able to tell the boys anything about Santa too!! They found the wrapping paper in my WIR, so I've told them that I'll be leaving the paper in the shed on Christmas Eve, and Santa will go in there and use my paper to wrap up their presents because he doesn't have enough room in he sleigh to carry all the paper as well as the presents! Worked a treat!! I've also told them, that if they don't behave nicely, that Santa will be only bringing them potatoes and not presents, lol! I'm so going to wrap onw up just for the reaction factor, lmao!
Kimba: Aw, so cute about your moment with Jet. You know, I think boys are so loving their Mums! I'm sure that girls are too (not that I'd know, lol), but I know my boys are so affectionate....I love it. They make me feel so special everyday! Enjoy it...I dare say things will change for us once they hit high school, lol.
Had to laugh at Jet's poo in the bath incident too! Reminded me so much of the clip on facebook, lmao! My boys crack up at it everytime they see it!
Mary-Anne: You must be happy with the way your splints are going? Good to hear there is no operation needed just yet!
Sal: You must be loving the dial up? Lol! Good to hear the move went well, but i bet you don't want to be doing it again in too much of a hurry? Has Nedd settled in ok?
T has passed out on the couch....again! It's getting so hard with him. He doesn't want a sleep in the day, but then he passes oout before 5pm every night. He'll either wake up at 7pm and be awake till 11 tonight, or he'll sleep right through. It's driving me crazy.
Anyway, best be off and get the other bathed and fed. Chicken parma tonight with vegies, YUM!!
Hi all,
Sarah!!! LOL at wrapping the potato up for the reaction factor - I like the way you think! I can't wait till I can play tricks like that on Jet and get my revenge for all the sleepless nights *evil laugh*
Jackie - on a normal day Jet could have:
200ml milk around 5-6am (unless he's had some through the night)
Breakfast: a few little fruity weetbix pcs with milk, plus fruit (1/4 to 1/2 an apple or pear, or a whole mandarin or nectarine, or 2-3 strawberries)
Mid-Morning: yogurt, or cheese and crackers, or a Heinz kids fruit bar, or a few sultanas and cranberries (he LOVES Craisins)
Lunch: usually a jar or tin of toddler meat/veg (easier to pack for daycare) or tiny tin of spaghetti, or leftovers (some sort of meat/ veg combo, risotto, etc).
Then a 200ml bottle of milk before his nap.
Mid-Afternoon: half a piece of fruit + 1-2 plain crackers, OR maybe cheese/ crackers or sultanas and cranberries (if he didn't have them earlier in the day)
Dinner: whatever I can get him to eat, usually not much! I always offer some sort of meat/ veg combo, but at the moment he'll only have a couple of mouthfuls, or half a small sausage or fish finger etc. And vegies are not favoured at the moment, so those usually come from jars (maybe 1/2 a jar). Sometimes he has a bit of thick fresh custard for 'dessert' if he's really hungry.
Then a 200ml bottle of milk at bedtime.
It looks like a lot when I write it like that :laughing:but he doesn't eat as much as Jarvis! LOL. And lately he really just picks at things and never actually eats much of anything, and he often doesn't finish (if I'm feeding him he says 'no more' and pushes it away, so cute). He almost never has bread or toast, he just doesn't seem to like it, although he'll gnaw on a bread roll or fruit bun, but discard it after a few bites. He's not keen on pasta either but I'm trying to get him to eat more of it...
He's totally obsessed with apples and pears at the moment (although he calls all fruit 'Narna'!) and demands the whole thing unpeeled, then spits out pieces of skin all over the place, and leaves it half eaten. But if I peel it or quarter it for him then he doesn't want it! Little freak, LOL.
Sarah - sorry that your DH is having a hard time getting home but it will all be worth it when he arrives! Boys might be noisy messy and hard work, but I have to agree they do tend to love their Mummies, I hope Jet stays that way.
Jackie - in terms of total volume Jet probably doesn't really eat that much more than Keanu, he just picks at more of a variety of things during the day, if you know what I mean? Although he does have lots of fruit. Jet has always been a whopper though - he was almost 12kg last time I got him weighed (11 months), no idea what he weighs now...
Michelle - congrats on Abbey's first molar and I'm glad to hear the swimming lessons are going better now. Jet's going up to the bigger babies class next term, although his current teacher is great and already gets him to do more of the 'bigger babies' stuff anyway because he just loves it.
Jen - pooh to the 9am deadline - would have loved to have seen your bosses face when you told her you were looking elsewhere!
Ok that's enough of a mammoth post...I'm having an early night, just hope Jet has a better night than last night :fingerscrossed:
Grrrr - I was just reading through the posts and realised my nice big one from yesterday is not on here so no idea what I did!
Just wanted to say that our tree is up and has presents around it and apart from the initial SS opening Kayley has pretty much left it alone so far!
Sorry no personals as I am buggered and have to go to bed. Had such a busy day today and will be another one tomorrow as our EA has left and I am covering her slack until our replacement starts and we have a client xmas function tomorrow - the joy!!
Oh just one thing - Jackie/Kimba - Kayley only eats around that much too. I think it depends on their metabolism and everything too. Kayley was 10.4kgs at 10 months but was still the same at 12 months!! I think she has put on about half a kilo since then but I am not really worried as she looks and acts healthy. She is still having 3 bottles a day (except for days like today when she refused bottles at CC) of Karicare gold toddler formula.
Gotta run. Best wishes to you all.
Wow, your kids eat A LOT. Maybe I havent been feeding Abbey enough. She hasnt gained weight for a while, but I just attributed it to her being so toddly.
Breakfast: she normally has a boob, then 2 slices of toast with half a narna. Sometimes a bowl of cereal with half a narna instead.
Morning tea is boob.
Lunch: other half of the narna, yoghurt, a biscuit, rice cake, dried fruit, whatever i find and pop in her bowl. Given that she leaves the rice cake until afternoon tea she musnt be hungry for more.
Arvo tea: a biscut, diluted juice and her lunch leftovers.
Dinner: a pckaged toddler meal, pasta or a bowl of vegies and meat. If she eats everything i give her a fruit cup. Boob before bed.
Im experimenting with cereal and then toast this morning since we're out of narnies. But she is playing with the toast while pooping so id guess she's not starving.
Kimba - thats so cute that all fruit is narna! Abbey cant be bothered naming her fruit. Just points at it, makes grabby hand flaps and cavebaby sounds.
Why on earth does Jet want to eat unwrapped narna? Odd child!
Sarah - that sucks about the flight. I'm told Jetstar is the same, even if you are in the queue and its their fault that you arent checked in on time, they turn their backs on you. The cheap fare obviously doesnt buy customer service
Lara's appetite has really improved over the last few weeks. On a typical day she has:
Breakfast - 1 - 1.5 weet-bix, tin of fruit.
10.30am - Boob
Lunch - A few bites of a cream cheese sandwich or raisin toast, a cheesy pop, a yoghurt and some fruit (2 -3 strawberries, a few bites of a banana)
Afternoon tea - heinz banana oat biscuit or some sultanas. Milk
Dinner - Fish fingers/chicken chipees/meat, 2 x small frozen roast potato, steamed veggies (usually 2 x beans, 2 x small carrot sticks, a small bit of broccoli. I give her small bits of zucchini, cauli and squash, but these are usually thrown on the floor).
Before bed - Boob.
I'll pop back on later. Gotta get ready for the drs...a follow up from the other day and to get Eloise and her toilet issues sorted (yep...we're still having 'accidents' :hair:)
Well! Here I am and I have ANOTHER deadline for tomorrow morning. Turns out the data we were using was incomplete (I checked a random sampled) so now I have to do my analysis all over again.
Apparently, telling me that the senior executive thinks I'm too thin and asking if I eat is some sort of compliment?!:banghead: Just coz he has a beer gut...:hair: I am sure they think I will stay because of all the sunshine they've been trying to blow up my bum the last couple of days.
Thanks so much to Sam's secret santa - I got it today and was going to save it but Sam was driving me INSANE, so I gave in. He loves the shiny bits in the books!
Meal Plan:
Breaky - 13 fruity bix/jalna yoghurt and breaky fruit/bit of toast...
Snack - Usually fruit/crackers and tzatzii etc/pikelets/tiny teddies etc
Lunch - Creche provide cooked meals, so anything from spaghetti, sandwiches to moroccan lamb
Dinner - Omelette (2 eggs, mushroom, ham, cheese), fried rice, BBQ chook with veg, vegie fritters, tuna pasta, risotto, carbonara, grilled chicken with salad (doesn't eat the lettuce though), vegie frankfurts, antipasto (no cheese though)...the list is HUGE
Well - I'm going to search the 'net for a new job. My boss was a complete biatch today, so she can kiss my eating disordered butt:laughing:
Hi all,
As of today I've lost 20kg YAY :smiliedance:Sadly there's still quite a lot to go though...but at this rate I should definitely be in good shape for Bali in March LOL.
Funny how these kids all eat so differently isn't it? Jet tends not to eat much at once, especially in the morning (no way would he eat 2 slices of toast or 2 weetbix!), he just snacks all day. But he never sits still and is running everywhere now, so I guess he needs the fuel! LOL.
Oh and to clear it up - unwrapped banana is OK, it's just peeled (or halved/ quartered) apple/ pear/ nectarine that he doesn't want. Because he'd rather hold onto the whole thing and bite off the skin and leave it in tiny pieces ALL OVER the house then discard the fruit somewhere with little bite marks all over it. He never finishes it but always demands a whole one! Hope this is just a phase...
This morning I gave him an apricot for the first time (whole) and after he'd had a bite I took it and split it in 2 and removed the stone, then gave the 2 halves back to him. Man did he lose it! Threw them on the floor and went over to the fruit bowl and demanded a WHOLE one. Whats the difference??? Total nutter.
Apricots are a big hit though - he ate 4 of them today! Plus a couple of strawberries and a gnaw on a pear. Hope he doesn't have a tummy ache tonight from all that fruit...
The "narna for all fruit" thing is cute but he's extended it now to anything he wants. I think because we respond to a request for narna by giving him whichever piece of fruit he's gesturing at, so now it seems he thinks if he says narna he'll get whatever it is he wants...
Funniest thing at the moment is watching him try to copy me saying 'flower', he just kind of rolls his tongue around. And 'I love you' gets 'ba bub boo' which is pretty cute...
Michelle/ Beck - Jet's weight was pretty stable from 9-11 months and I've been a slack mum and not had him weighed since then! but I don't think it's gone up very much since because he's still wearing the same clothes (1-2), just getting a bit longer in the legs/ body.
Sare - how did you go at the doc? do they think there's a medical reason for Eloises accidents? I know kids who are 4 and still not fully TT'd...
Oops Jen just noticed your post - OMG what on earth are they thinking? Seriously...some people have no idea. Hope you find something better and fast!
Just quickly popping in tonight (I have a very tempermental baby, and a toddler with an ear infection!!) to thank our Secret Santa - you know who you are, lol!! We recieved it today, and the boys are very excited that J has a present for himself, lol!
will try and pop in again tomorrow for personals.
Hope all is good, Sarah

Mornin everyone:wave:
Today is my sick day...Which seeing as though I am actually not sick I will entirely enjoy this day. Although now i am wracking my brain as to what reason to give the Dr as to why i didnt go to work...hhhhmmmmm
Still havent found somewhere to live and DP is dragging his heels as well which is kinda worrying. This is such a stupid time of year for truck drivers the poor thing isnt gettin home till 6am in the morning. I guess its only while christmas is here....
On the food side.. can I just say OMG!!!!..Darcy never gets morning tea.... I not sure when to fit that one in...lol.. Morning milk at 7 Brekkie at 9ish then down for a sleep at 9.45 till 11.15 then lunch at 12. We normally have just fruit for afternoon tea and she loves loves loves mangoes!!!!!!!
I guess maybe coz she not walking she isnt really demaning alot of energy at the moment.. its either that or I am bad mother...
Kimba thats great news on the weight loss... I have turned soooooo lazy since going back to work. I used to do a daily arvo walk whist I was off but now I have absolutley NO motivation whatsoever..
Well I got a bit of a shock yesterday whilst visiting one of my mothers group mum's. Her daughter is walking from 11 months and everytime I see this lady she says... "Darcy still not walking??"..... I am absolutly not worried in the slightest about my daughter and why should I be. I know that all kids do things at different times. But it didnt stop there...She also commented AGAIN...That maybe she has slowed down due to the fact that I work full time and I dont have the time to teach her!!!
Now I am no Dr but I assumed that kids will do things when they are ready and apart from helping them along, they will do things at their own pace!!!.....
I dont know why but I felt like I had to justify and stab back ....so I said.." I read somewhere that they hone their skills one at a time and she is really coming along with words and communication at the moment...."
I was a bit hurt at first as this kinda thing has been said b4 by this lady about something else.
Anyway enough ramble about me..... Darcy has been very cheeky in the last few weeks and a little bit clingy at times. Her sleeping at night is still awesome but her arfternoon sleep is such a nightmare...She turns on the tanty's when she knows its nap time......and me being over it.. I normally give up coz its not worth the battle.
Well I best be off to make appointment at Dr's for some fake illness.....

Morning all, back on broadband so hopefully I will be a better bubhubber!
On the food- Nedd is a pig, and I am desperately trying to come up with new things to feed him....he seems to gobble down food all day:
BF 7.00am- Fruity Bix, Fruit (usually banana) and sometimes a munch on toast
Grazes on 100ml milk all morning
MT 9.30am- Cheese and biccies
L 11.00am- Cream cheese sandwich, piece of ham, sultanas, yoghurt, and more fruit
(nap 2.5hrs 11.30)
AT- Finishes off any uneaten lunch and sweet biccie (such as milk coffee)
Dinner- whatever we are having/tin spag/fresh pasta etc etc, and custard or jarred dessert
Bottle 200ml before bed
And I swear if I offered him more he would just keep eating!
Does anyone else have a bub who rocks in the cot? Nedd has done this for ages, but is still persisting...to get himself off to sleep he sits up against the cot and bangs his bakc against it....it is often so hard that he actually bruises his back. I am quite concerned about it- I know it is normal in their development (specially for boys) and I asked the GP who wasn't at all concerned- but surely it can't be good for him when it is actually bruising?!?!
Maryanne- Pooh to that stupid lady, it amazes me sometimes how other mothers can be so insensitive- obviously she needed to send herself on an ego trip. My nephew is 11mnths, and is only just starting to commando crawl- and will definitely not be walking for sometime, they all do it at there own pace!
Kimba- 20kg!!!! Wow thats an amazing effort! And I was happy with my 4kg in four weeks! You'll be slim and taught and looking fab in no time!
Jen- Pooh to your work people. Godd luck finding another job. I always have my eyes out for a new job in my area- but I know I ma kidding myself, there is no way I would find a job regionally that pays the same salary with added perks, and so much flexibility as what I have now, I am just getting tired of all the travel.
Thanks to my SS- pressie is safely tucked up under our 'shrine' of tinsel....we decided to put our tree in storage., so instead I have some shelving decorated with tinsel and deco's...DH thinks it looks like a mini shrine to something!
OK, I have so much to do now that I am back on BB so best be off and actually do some work!

hi girls...
just been reading thru all the posts..
keanu isn't walking byhimself yet either....all kids are different like you said Maryanne they say 12-18 months is the average....i had a friends whos bub was walking around 9 months and i have had similar comments, but like you i am not worried in the slightest he is developing great and i have no cncerns...i think with keanu it is more of a confidence thing, he has been walking against furniture since about 7 months...he will do it when HE is ready...not when i push him....so people just don't realise what comments they are making or how they come across...GRRR...
(That maybe she has slowed down due to the fact that I work full time and I dont have the time to teach her!!! ) -as for that comment i am a full time stay at home mum....so this is RUBBISH!!!!
keanu is waking 1-2 times a night, he goes back to sleep...since being sick this has been happening...i think the sickness is over with for now...YAY..he seems to be 100%
we are having a bbq tonight, hoping the weather permits....
have finsihed xmas shopping, just have to get some frames and DP present...what to get him i don't have a clue??
keanu has been spolit, but being our first child we don't have a lot of toys...
oh i found $4.99 puzzles at ALDI this week so i got him 2 of those for xmas.
i have put a lot og things in his santa sack...save wrapping  i am just wrapping the big things.
Oh just to clarify, keanu probably wont be going into the toddler bed for a while yet (if we move to perth then in may he will go into it, as we don't want to take the cot)...but it may be later....the reason we got it was cos it is one of thos disney pixar cars bed...however SIL wanted one for her son, and couldn't find one and said speiderman was too scarey so i agreed that if she got a spiderman one then i would swap her...JUST BEING KIND AS ALWAYS...so we did that....but i am regretting it...as the reason we got it so early ws it was the cars one and they are more expensive and it was a bargain....so now we have spiderman...not that i don't like spiderman, i just wanted to do his room in cars when he went into the bed....so i am feeling a little annoyed at myself....but oh well, my own fault for being too nice...so we decided people could put in for xmas for it...plus we got it off ebay pickup so it didn't cost in postage...argh i am regretting it now.
anyway enough of me :ecomcity:
sorry
glad to hear everyone is well...
Jeffy - goodluck finding a new job!!

Hello ladies
Sorry for my absence, I have been thinking of you all, just toooo busy and f***ing hot to think.
Anyhoo, just caught up on all your posts so don't have time to reply properly.
re: Walking, no action here, just cruising, I still think around Chrissy it will happen.
re: food, sounds like Sophia is the biggest pig, this is her usual day care day routine
6:00 am - 150 ml cows milk
7:30 am - 1 1/2 weet bix + banana
9:30 am - sandwich and fruit for am tea + milk in cup
11:30 am - hot lunch usually pasta bake / spag bol / beef stew etc + dessert.
sleep for 1-2 hours
3:30pm - afternoon, same as am tea
7:00 pm - dinner, whatever i'm having and man can she eat, she prob has about the same quantitty as me
8ish : 150 ml cows milk.
That made me feel full just to look at it. I don't know where it all goes as she still is quite petite and they laugh about her at daycare as she is always trying to steal food from the other kids bowls
Ach, gotta go, but Kimba lets get in touch and hook up before Christmas so we can swap pressies :tree:
Just come on quickly to say hi! Kayley had a shocker 2 nights ago and was awake for most of the night. I had to get to work early so was up at 5.30am and had to set up for the client xmas party so didn't get home until quarter to 7 at night and I now know why Kayley was so cranky. She has a cold and has given it to me and I feel yuck with a really sore throat - no wonder she woudn't eat a think yesterday!
So I am going to veg in front of the TV and feel sorry for myself!
Oh MaryAnne I just wanted to say I am with you on the walking. If one more person asks 'isn't she walking yet' I will kill them - no wonder parents get insecure!! Kayley can stand by herself (when she doesn't realise she is doing it and can walk holding onto just 1 little finger so I think it is just her confidence holding her up. There is nothing wrong with her and I am not concerned so I agree I am sick of others expecting she should be walking by now!!
Anyway enough for my whinge. Will talk later.
Hi girls,
Will be another quick one from me...gotta get organised as we're going to DH's Christmas work thing tonight (no it doesn't take me THAT long to get ready...got to clean before the ILs come and get the girl's dinner ready too).
The dr said it's highly likely that the pain that I got the other night was from my PCOS and it may happen every cycle :(. :fingerscrossed: it was a one off. He's referred Eloise to a paediatrician. I don't think there is anything wrong with her, but boy will I feel bad if there is. So she's booked in for the week after next.
I took the girls to see Bee Movie today. I enjoyed it. Eloise loved it and Lara slept through it .
Beck - :hugs: Hope you get over your cold quickly. Just the thing that you need in the lead up to Christmas.
Georgia - Good to hear from you...I've been wondering how you and Sophia are going. Wow on Sophia's daily diet, sounds like she eats more that I do, but she still looks so petite. Wish I had her metabolism, lol.
Mary-anne - Good on you for saying that bit about Darc's communication skills...that woman sounds like a real cow! Hope you are enjoing your sickie today.
Jackie - Don't stress about the toddler bed, each to his/her own. I know one of the bubs from my mother's group had her son in a toddler bed from about 9 months. He's now 3 and has never had real sleep issues. Whatever works for you guys is the right decision for you.
Sal - Lara rocks on her cot when she standing and holding onto the railing. I think she likes that banging noise that it makes.
Kimba - :yelclap: to you. 20 kgs is awesome and it seems to of come of fairly quickly. I wish I had some of you motivation/dedication. I had a laugh at Jet with his fruit tanties...that's the kind of thing Eloise does. God help you when Jet hits 3 .
Jen - Good luck on your search for a new job.
So much for quick...better dash...have a great weekend...

Sare we've got DH's xmas party on tonight and I've been getting ready since 2pm this arvo! I am excited as it is the first time in four years DH has had a xmas party that partners have been invited to if one at all- but also nervous as its also the first time for ages he has had female collegues (office staff) and I know they will all be giving me the once over....you know how girls are!
Gave Nedd his first icypole today- he loved it...it was a peters miniz strawberry smoothie flavour.
We have been teaching him to sit in one spot whilst eating food when not in his high chair- he was so cute sitting on his little chair eating his icypole.
Oh and Nedd has finally discovered his penis....I know it took him a while- but seriuosly he won't leave it alone now! Oh the fun of having a boy begins!
Have a great evening all....I plan on having a few bevvies!
Hi all,
God I'm knackered, Jet has gone back to waking at least once through the night then again at 5am and not going back to sleep...I'm praying he sleeps through till 7am tomorrow morning without waking. Not too much to ask is it?
This morning before work I had Jet on my lap reading him a book and we got to a page with a photo of a kid's face and I said (out of habit) 'see, there's the nose, and mouth...' and he turned around with a big grin and touched my nose! which is the first time he's done that. Usually when he's playing with my face I'll be saying repeatedly 'that's my nose (mouth, eyes, etc), where's your nose?' while I touch his etc, or I'll show him in a book/ mirror then point it out on me/ him, but until now he just hasn't made that connection. It was like a lightbulb going off!
Sal - LOL at Nedd finally finding his penis. Sadly Jet found his a long time ago, it's the first thing he reaches for when his nappy comes off, and he loves to play with it in the bath. Boys! No advice on the rocking/ banging I'm afraid except maybe to suggest putting an Airwrap (breathable bumper) on the cot, might help stop the bruising? Oh and don't worry about the office girls, I'm sure you'll look a million dollars at the Xmas party tonight - have a good time!
Sare - PCOS is a sh!t, I hope you don't get the pain every time now. Also hope that the paed gives Eloise the all clear. And please don't scare me about Jet being worse at 3, I'm really hoping he grows out of his crazy obsessions and tanties by then (I can dream can't I?)
Beck - hope you and Kayley get over your colds soon! :hugs:
Georgia - OMG I can't believe Sophia puts away all that! Sometimes I wonder if it's my fault when I look at how chubby Jet still is, but when I see how much these other bubs eat, at least I know I'm not overfeeding him LOL. I'll be up your way again on Thursday next week, so I'll call you and tee up a meeting time...
Jack - glad to hear that Keanu seems to be all better. You're so nice swapping the cars bed for the spiderman one, I probably wouldn't have done it! (but then again, I'm a b1tch LOL). For my DH I'm getting him some new man-smell (Calvin Klein Truth for Men) and a pair of RayBans...he's getting me a luffly watch although he doesn't know it yet (I ordered it last week, hahaha)
Last but not least, Oh, Maryanne - what a horrible insensitive uninformed thing to say!!! :banghead: Being away from your bub some of the time has nothing to do with it - for example look at Jet, he was in daycare from 6 months old and he walked early, which completely disproves that silly cow's ignorant theory! You are so right, every bub hones different skills at different times and Darcy is just focusing on other things right now, like being so clever with her talking. She's only 13 months for heavens sake, the normal age range for walking is 12-18months.
Anyway I'd better go and have some dinner, hope you all have a great weekend, we're taking Jet to get some Santa photos :tree:
Oh PS - what is your bub's favourite book right now? Jet is an utter book fiend and he has so many already, but we read them so much he's getting bored with the ones he has.
Well miss fish is waking every 30 minutes tonight so lets see how far i get.
Books - at the moment its all about The Very Hungry Caterpillar. She knows where I put it so she points to it and makes cavebaby sounds until i read it to her. Then she gets to sit on the floor and read it by herself. I imagine it will need replacing very soon!
She's getting Hippo on the Roof Eating Cake, and The Mole Who Knew It Was None Of His Buiness for xmas.
Kimba - thats so clever with the nose! Abbey knows she has one, and will point it at me for cleaning, but isnt interested in naming and pointing yet. Mummy just babbles the same as you, hoping she will join in one day.
Sal - I bet you were the belle of the ball! I'm glad i have a girl who isnt interested in her genitals yet. Penises are weird. Ive always thought so!
Sare - I cant believe Lara slept through a movie. Did you drug her?? Especially at the cinema, its so loud. have to agree, Bee Movie was quite funny.
Maryanne - Ignore people like that. I say things that hurt people's feelings too but I'm a self absorbed social inept, so you have to forgive me. Darcy will walk when she wants to walk, and she will take off running a day later most likely.
I'm a single stay at home mum so abbey is my world and has my attention 24/7 but does things at her own pace no matter how much i encourage her. Just enjoy your time with Darcy, and revel in the fact that she cant run away from your kisses just yet!
Hey there everybody,
We are all alive and well. Just been very very slack. Instead of coming on here when Adam sleeps I tend to sleep too.
If anyone ever tells you having twins is the same as one then I say smack them in the nouth while you still can . I cannot believe how tired and uncomfortable I am. We have reached 24 weeks so I know I am getting there.
Had another scan yesterday. All is great. Still two little boys (Shaun Antonio and Jack Raymond) One after Johns dad & pa and one after my lot.
Gee they even fight before they make it to the real world. It was so funny to watch them pushing each other out of the way and sucking their thumbs.
Well we made it through the wedding and had the lovliest of days. Even DSS behaved and was actually human for the weekend.
Adam chose the second we got to the resort to forget how to crawl and has not been off his feet since. He was walking about 5-10 steps on his own before we left but still crawled. Now I never know where he is. BUT he didn't get to carry the ring cushion to John as he fell asleep and stayed that way until just before we were pronounced husband and wife. But he was awake for the photos so that was cool.
My darling hubby showed me after 10 years that he can be romantic and he sang from this moment on by Shania Twain to me as his vows. Pity for him I wasn't having an hormonal attack and I had tears from holding back my laughter, but it was lovely.
Anyway I better go and find little captain destructo as I can smell him but not see him.
I'll try to get back on more often.....
 And:hugs: to all

di...glad that the wedding went well...you will have to upload some piccies...
not a lot of time for personals....tired, have a man coming to collect our old fridge and i really want to lay down and have a nap lol....
cheerio for now
xx
No repeats of the nose-touching so maybe it was just an accident, or maybe Jet can't be bothered now that he's shown me he can do it...he's started saying 'Ba-BOO' though for peekaboo and is very pleased with himself
I've also discovered he now loves lasagne (after refusing it before), hooray! now I'll be trying all the variations I can think of...tuna, chicken, vegies...
Jackie it's a good day for napping, I managed to have one myself this morning for the first time in forever, and feel a lot more human for it. I should be making the most of Jet sleeping and having another one right now actually...
Di good to hear from you and glad the wedding went well, are you going to show us some pics? Get onto facebook and upload some there so we can have a squiz (nosey aren't we?). Would love to see a scan image of the twins too...Cute names you've chosen, I reckon that's one good thing about having twin boys is that you can keep everyone in the family happy with the namesake thing. Can imagine how exhausted you feel though, being preg with one was bad enough...
Michelle LOL at the self absorbed social inept that's pretty much me in a nutshell too. You're lucky Abbey isn't interested in her genitals, not only is Jet obsessed with his own bits, but watch out when he sees DH or I nude (he often showers with us) because then he's all eyes and trying to reach up and cop a feel!
(never fear everyone, of course we don't let him touch, no need to phone DOCS!!!)
Gotta love the Very Hungry Caterpillar. And that Mole book is hilarious, have you seen the popup version!!! it's great  I'm getting it for my nephew for Christmas (while hoping someone else gets it for Jet...hehe)
Supposed to be taking Jet for Santa photos today, but I can't be ar$ed schlepping into the city with the maddened hordes, so I'm trying to track down a local shopping centre who has a half-decent Santa set up...hmmm...:detective:
Hi everyone,
Been reading but not posting a lot lately.
Ella has started sleeping through regularly :smiliedance: but with the tradeoff of waking up at 5.30am!
The food discussion is very interesting - I'd say Ella eats bugger all compared to most toddlers then!
She has:
-1/2 pc fruit (peach or pear) and 1 weetbix, cup of ricebubbles etc or a piece of toast for brekkie (she hardly ever finishes the toast).
-200ml milk in a sipper cup at 8.
-snack, half a banana, half a cup strawberries or yoghurt, a few slices of cheese (one of these, not all!)
-lunch, leftovers or pasta & spinach & cheese from the freezer, or tinned spagh with cheese & bread squares. Usually she eats about half a small plateful.
The second snack and dinner are the same as morning snack and lunch really. She used to eat a lot more but then dropped off quite suddenly. Still healthy, growing & bowling around everywhere though! I have always let her decide when she's finished eating.
Kimba Ella likes to touch face parts and get you to name them - but watch out for the individual naming of both eyes, it can be painful if you aren't ready! Also books - Ella and I visit the library every 3 weeks for another stash. She has her "special" books (paper) which live in her bookshelf and only get read at naps & bedtime, and her board books for everyday (which she's quite happy to sit in the corner and "read" to herself...so cute). Her favourites are That's When I'm Happy and Over in the Meadow. She also LOVES Hairy McLary and Slinky Malinky, lots of "pussycat" and "woof woof" to say!
Di, glad the wedding went well and that's so funny about the twins blueing in the womb! (that will be a good story at their 21st!)
Sal - hope you had a great time at the party. Ours is on Thursday and DP is saying he and Ella aren't going...I'm a bit annoyed as it seems quite rude to me but at least I'll get to go a-drinking by myself I guess.
Hey Sare - sorry bout the PCOS, what a poo. Hope it's a one off too. Also hope all your organising went fine and the Christmas party was fun!
Beck - hope you're feeling better. I knew a friend's little boy who wouldn't let go of that little finger til 15 months - even though he'd been walking fine with it for months! It's so normal, they are all different, and you must be sadly insecure if you need your baby to walk first to feel good about yourself! (that little rant was for you Mary anne!)
Georgia - we still have no a/c in my end of the office and boy is it hard to think when it's that stifling!!
Gotta go and give Ella her milk before I go to work. have a nice day everyone
Hi girls,
Both girls are in bed, although Eloise is not asleep, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to pop on here. We're still same-old here... Lara's got a runny nose, but seems ok otherwise. Eloise is super-excited about Santa and Christmas, so we're swinging between being good to impress the big guy and being shocking because she's so excited about it all.
DH's christmas party was sh!te! We've now made a deal that he doesn't have to go to my work's Christmas parties if I never have to go to one of his again. I'm quite happy with that.
We had a quiet weekend, but have a bit of a busy week ahead (just for a change ). Most of the girls activities finish up this week, so hopefully I'll get some quiet time over the next few weeks. Then again maybe not, as DH found out last week that he has to work over some of the Christmas/New Year holidays. They normally get 2-3 weeks annual leave after Christmas, but because the job that he's been working on all year is due to be shipped off to Perth in January, he has to work. He will also be making a few trips to Karatha next year to install/comission the equipment :(.
Bec - It sounds like Ella is doing well with eating all she does. I try to be like you and let Lara dictate how much she wants to eat, but boy can it be frustrating. Thanks for your well wishes about the PCOS... I found out I had it about 5 yrs ago, but this is the first time that I've ever really had any trouble from it (apart from trying to fall pg with Eloise).
Kimba - Jet sounds like he is doing so much more than Lara, although she has mastered 'where's your nose' and is now graduating towards 'where's your teeth' (yep she's a biter ) She doesn't know any animal sounds and hates sitting still to listen to stories. I know it will all come later on. Did you manage to find a santa for photos?
Di - Congratulations. What a romantic sweetie your dh is.
Sal - Hope you had a better time at your dh's Christmas party than I did. But I'm guessing that wouldn't be so hard considering how cr@ppy dh's was. It probably wasn't that bad, I was just sober and ended up sitting one of his colleagues who I don't particularly like. Oh and there was loud/bad country music. See, it was bad :devil6:
Michelle - They're all books that Eloise (me) loves too. I saw a felt story board of The Very Hungry Caterpillar from Borders and I was so tempted to get it, but Eloise has so many things for Christmas already and Lara's just that bit too young. You've got to see the pop up version of the Story of the Little Mole who knew that it was None of his Business (it's called the plop up version). It's hilarious. Have you read Grandpa's (Grandad's) Teeth by Rod Clement? It's a bit too old for Abbey still, but you'd probably get a laugh out of it.
Better go Lara's woken and is whinging. Hope you're all well.
Howdy doo mummies all
Lesley wanted me to let you know Montanah goes into hospital on Thursday, so set your best wishes alarm on Wednesday night.
Apparently her puter is broken but I hope it revives to tell us how hospy went.
We had another swimming lesson this morning. It didnt go as well as last week. It was just her and one other baby again, seems the other kids were chucking a sicky. So of course it wasnt as fun and she got narky. It didnt help that i put her underwater early into the lesson, i just thought she did so well last week.
Instructor told me off for not making abbey climb out by herself, but abbey is so stubborn that until yesterday she was determined to use walking off the edge as the best method of getting down from the couch. She knew there was a better way, but it wasnt her way! I know she needs to learn how to climb out, but trying to force her into something just makes her intractable and pi$$ed off. She is SO her fathers daughter in that. Just gets in her own way. I sometimes wonder if she isnt all that bright...:o
She gets down from the couch in a safer way now, not the way i show her, but it doesnt hurt so its okay.
I'm feeling a bit flat at the moment so I will toddle off and think about doing something constructive.
Well we found a good Santa at Broadway shopping centre, and it was FREE! Although I'm still not satisfied, because 1) Jet looked like a stunned mullet and 2) they didn't zoom in close enough, so the photo is all 'background' with this little Santa and tiny Jet in the middle, and of course we were too scabby to pay extra for an enlarged version :o hahaha. I've scanned and cropped it to try and zoom in closer, but being so small to start with, it hasn't come up very well (I bet they do that on purpose...)
So being my typical neurotic self, I'm now deliberating whether to take Jet back when he's in a better mood to do it again and this time pay for the enlargement as well, all just so we can see him better in the photo (and hoping to get him to smile this time)...but I'm also thinking, is it really worth the extra $20, am I really going to look back one day and think "Oh, I WISH I had a better Santa photo of the year Jet was one, while he still looked like a cherub"...somehow I think not! LOL.
Anyway obviously life is going pretty well for us if this is the biggest problem I have right now...
Jet is doing the 'where's my nose' thing more often now, but he'll only point to my nose, hasn't made the connection to his own yet, and doesn't do other body parts. He does however love to press the nose on his FP Puppy to make it 'sneeze' then he does a sneeze sound and bobs his head like he's sneezing, it's so cute!
Haven't had any new words for a while but yesterday I gave him a drink and he said with perfect clarity 'awww-ta' (water) - then said it twice more, while I sat there in amazed shock, he's never said anything like that before (all of his words are based on ba bye da ma na pa and mo sounds). But he hasn't done it since and looks at me blankly when I try to prompt him, so I'm wondering if it was a fluke or what...
Mr Independent is also insisting on climbing up stairs on his own (half on hands and knees, but quite fast) and walking down on his own too (holding Mummy's hand). He's so gung-ho, it's scary sometimes. Why do they grow up so fast?
Very funny thing at the moment is that he's been playing with magnets on the fridge so now he goes around trying to stick all sorts of things to walls and other vertical surfaces (like my legs) and looking puzzled when they fall down
Michelle - your swimming instructor makes you get the babies to climb out by themselves??? Wow. Ours holds them for us while we climb in or out then passes them back. We're in the big pool not the baby pool though, are you as well? I just re-enrolled Jet for next term, he's going up to the bigger babies class so maybe he'll have to climb out by himself then...he'll probably love that! Hope you found something constructive to do and aren't feeling so flat now...
Sare - bugger about DH's party being shyte and even more about him working over Christmas, I feel your pain as mine only has the public holidays off...and yep I'm working on 'where's my teeth' with Jet at the moment since he's a biter too! He doesn't know animal sounds either, although he'll imitate dogs if he hears them, and will VERY occasionally do a cat sound, but he's more likely to shout gleefully 'Dah!' which is what he calls our cat (Sha) and all cats, in fact all animals!
Bec - Jet is a bit like Ella, hardly finishes anything, I let him dictate when he stops eating too and sometimes (like today) it's after one bite! Frustrates me though, esp. knowing that he'll probably wake up in the night hungry and wanting milk...You'll probably have more fun at your party if DP stays home to look after Ella? then you don't have to worry about her getting tired and him getting bored/ whinging, LOL.
Just a quick one before I head of to take Eloise for her swimming lesson. I had to share this with you guys...Lara slept from 8.30pm last night until 8.20am this morning :smiliedance: She needed a resettle at 5am, but didn'tt wake up for it.
Just had to share :cloud9:
Have a great day :flowerz:
Yay Lara! :yelclap: Last night must have been the night for it because Jet also slept from 6.30pm till 8am, just had a bottle of milk at 5am and straight back to sleep.
So I could have had a full night's sleep last night except one of Jet's toy phones was ringing at 2am and woke me up! :hair: I had to get up and try to find the damn thing (buried in the toy basket) so I could get it to stop, before it woke Jet too.
Ah well.
Yay Lara & Jet!
I can't yay Abbey because for some reason she spent a lot of the night tapping me on the shoulder and asking for kisses. I have no idea why. I ignored her after the first time and eventually she went back to sleep but kept waking up and doing it again.
Least kisses were all she was after!
She makes the most adorable sound after giving a kiss now. Its the same one i make when she gives me one. Its "oooooh, i LIKE kisses" but she only does the ooooh.
I just had to wrestle her into bed against her will, she was refusing her nap today, too busy, and of course now that she's asleep the page I'm trying to load is broken and just sitting there. The silly competition finishes toniht and i havent won a single thing yet. Oh well, reload the page and start again.
Hi All
Hope you are all pretty well. Yay on the sleep for Lara and Jet.
Well we are still sick in this household and I am not at work today. I took Kayley to the doctor yesterday as she still wasn't eating (she hasn't had a proper meal since Wednesday) and she has a bad case of tonsilitis with puss on her right tonsil. Poor chicken I thought it was just a bad cold (which I have too). So she can't go to childcare this week hence I am home today and my mum will come over the next 2 days (DH is in Sydney for work - good timing!)
She also has really bad nappy rash - I think her poos which are pretty watery must be very acidy so we have some cortizone cream to clear it up.
Sorry guys - no time for personals as she is very whingy and wants me NOW!
Will get back on sometime over the next few days!
My nerves are shattered after taking Jet to the doctors this afternoon! We were waiting for almost an hour and all Jet wanted to do was run amok especially running to the front door and trying to go out on the street  He just wouldn't sit and play/read/sing/cuddle with me, refused to sit on my lap or in the pram - he ended up having two major very noisy tantrums, so I'm feeling really frazzled now.
That's his first public dummy spit, worst part was that I couldn't do much to distract him because I had limited 'resources' at hand, and we were stuck just sitting there and I couldn't let him run wild. Plus he was tired which didn't help...once we got into the doctors room he wasn't much better, yelled and struggled to be let down onto the floor then picked up the scales and ran around with them then crawled under the bed and unplugged the blood pressure machine...GAH!
I really hope he grows out of this and does what he's told when he's old enough to understand otherwise I'm in for some harrowing years to come...
Jet's eye teeth are still trying to come through although they don't seem to be bothering him too much (thank goodness), but I noticed today that his nappy bucket REEKED of ammonia which is really unusual, his pee seems to get more stinky when he's teething, anyone else noticed that?
Beck - sorry to hear about Kayley's tonsillitis, hope she gets over it soon! and the nappy rash too - ouchies! I had Jet at the doc today because he's got a cough again and is off his food (wants lots of milk instead) but the doc didn't look at his throat, and I didn't even think of that...
Michelle - that's so cute of Abbey to ask for kisses and do the 'ooh' sound afterwards! She's such a sweetheart. Jet's got an 'oooh' in his repertoire too (done with a real wide-eyed 'oooh' face) but it's more for when he's looking at something really interesting (IE not Mummy!)
I took Jet back to redo his Santa photo today but he still refused to smile - I think it was the stupid photographer waving a squeaky toy Ernie at him that made him look like a stunned mullet. Ah well. Maybe when he's 2 I can get him to smile on cue. Or maybe not...:raspberry:
I'm so tired right now, juggling work and motherhood is really taking it's toll on me...I can't wait till my 2 week Christmas break although I'm sure it will go all too fast...

Just wanted to hop on and say a big thankyou to Ella's Secret Santa:xmas: what a lovely present! We are keeping it under the tree for her until Christmas even though DP had opened it before I got home, so we got a sneak preview!
[QUOTE=~Kimba~;2176795]
I really hope he grows out of this and does what he's told when he's old enough to understand otherwise I'm in for some harrowing years to come...

well i saw dis wedding video and yes her now dH was very romantic. its nice wen you see someone as tone death as i am sing to their loved one.
and all the kids looked gorgeous...and of course the very tired looking bride. she is coping like a trooper for carrying 2 and running a FULL house hold
well must go kane is attacking wat ever isnt bolted down
oh and diesel kanre still isnt walking. maybe being over 6 foot people arent willing to say anything to me. but my ds1 was slow and it was obvious he was all bent over and floppy. god help anyone who had said something to me
speaking of height. kane is 89 cm. thats about 140%
Confess how you mess with your bubs head
When I want Abbey to go away for a minute, or she is grizzling and annoying me, I often send her in search of something. Something I already have. Like "Where is your toothbrush, go get your toothbrush" (in my pocket), or "go find your shoes" (on the shelf she cant reach or see)...It works wonders when I'm just trying to use the loo in peace.
I am evil
Sometimes she surprises me and does find a toothbrush (old one) or a shoe (dolls or mine).
I measured her the other day, i got 81cm. She was really tall but now she's not. She's prematurely old.
Jackie - is working at Seaworld as cool as it sounds? I want to hug a polar bear but people keep telling me theyre not nice. And then they get cast as evil in Narnia & Golden Compass movies, which doesnt help their image. They need some cuddle-PR!
Kimba - yep, mega ammonia smell during teething. I have to air the laundry before i can go in some days!
At the moment she is teething too, dont know which teeth, but she is ammonia baby with burny poops and a red bum.
For public trantrums, hmm, havent had them yet. I usually head them off with a distraction - a sippy cup of water, a song, picking her up and running backwards and forwards really jiggily, or giving her something 'forbidden', like my purse or keys. I know one day soon i wont catch it in time and will enjoy the same experience as you. She gets really annoyed when i ignore the ones she has at home though, and if i dare walk away, oh boy!
Beck - thats not good re the tonsilitis or nappy rash. Do you dare naked time with watery poos? I'm mean, i take abbey outside for naked time a lot now. I think she enjoys running through the long grass.
Re the tonsilitis - we've had a few bubs with it on here- is it normal for bubs to get it and does anyone know what causes it? Ive only had it once in my life, and none of my siblings ever had, so its really foreign to me.
My stupid baby fell off the couch 3 times last night. 3 times in an hour. She was stuffing around and trying to climb and run all over it and i wasnt forceful enough in my request for her to stop. What can I say, the first 2 times she fell were funny. :raspberry: The last she fell off the arm and landed awkardly so then i felt bad and had to put my responsible mummy hat on. :shame:

Afternoon everyone
Just firstly want to give kayley and beck :hugs:. Hope Kayley starts to feel better soon!!
:smiliedance: to lara for that awesome sleep!!
Kimba, I am dreading taking Darcy to get Santa pics!!.. She actually has a real aversion to men!!.... Eg: Went to my male friends mothers house.... She wouldnt go anywhere near my friend whom she has met many times, but happily went to his mother whom she has never met....I dont get it!!!
Michelle, Thats very cute being tapped on the shoulder wanting kisses, although in the middle of the night its probably wasnt THAT cute...
Well my mum comes back from newcastle today she has been gone a week so it was a nice rest for her I thought, but she said she hanging to come back here to see Darcy!!!.. How sweet.
I have my work Chrissy party tonight, and would you believe i am still tossing up whether I will be going. I feel like a night out but cant be fagged all the same..IYKWIM???
Its cr@ppy anyway.. we have to pay for ourselves and NO partners allowed... Thats probably coz there are so many internal affairs going on:laughing:
Chrissy shopping almost done, would like to finish it off today...
Darcy still doing well although she did have a small reddish race on her cheek yesterday which is not there today. Sleeping faboulously still, eating is not going as great as she has decided that when she doesnt like something we roll it round in her mouth then push it out of our mouth in one big gooey lump....:hair:
OOps better run...mums plane is landing soon and I cant wait to see her.
Cheerio everyone...............:flowerz:

Still lurking about the place reading all your posts - just lacking the motivation most days to put my fingers to the keyboard!
I have another Independent bubba here! She will not eat now unless she is feeding herself, regardless of what we give her, at least she has figured out how to get the spoon into her mouth 99% of the time, so its not too messy or timeconsuming.
I hope everyone is doing well - my ever expanding waistline just gave me a massive boot - so Baby Girl #2 must want to say hi!
I usually head them off with a distraction - a sippy cup of water, a song, picking her up and running backwards and forwards really jiggily, or giving her something 'forbidden', like my purse or keys.
Yep, I did ALL that and more - incl. food bribes and singing Humpty Dumpty in a crowded doctors surgery, oh the humanity - but nothing that usually works on him was working, not even looking at videos of himself on my phone (my usual last resort) :hissy:All he wanted was to run to the front door and out onto the street, and he didn't understand why that wasn't an option! I have to say, it's blimmin hard when none of your usual tactics work, I've never even been in that situation at home yet, let alone in public!
Jet has figured out how to climb up onto the bed, which is a worry because he thinks it's a trampoline/ wrestling ring. He stands and jumps up and down while yelling and flapping arms like a crazed thing (just like this: :smiliedance:), or just throws himself all over it. He's learnt to avoid the edges and how to get down, BUT he gets so carried away I still don't trust him not to go bouncing off by accident, it gives me the heebie-jeebies.
This morning I was reading to him and he started saying turtle (tao-doo), gosh it sounded so cute! and this afternoon (same book) he said dolphin (doh-pn), although wouldn't repeat it. Lately he keeps coming out with these random, eerily accurate, but never to be repeated words, anyone else's kid doing that???
He must have been sick of me after I spent an extra day with him yesterday, because this morning as soon as I got his shoes on he was standing at the front door banging on it and saying bye-bye, he couldn't wait to go...
Jackie - lamb shanks YUM! Working at Seaworld or Movieworld would be way cool, Keanu will be loving it when he's older.
Maryann - Have fun with your mum! good luck with Darcy and Santa pics, hopefully she'll just do the stunned mullet thing with no tears! Ugh to the big gooey lumps, Jet isn't doing that as much as he was (thank goodness) although his latest thing now is to stuff everything into his mouth at once, then wonders why he can't swallow it.
Re: chrissy party, mine is tomorrow night and it's also no partners, plus it's at Luna Park which is just a pain to get to and from, and I just can't be shagged dressing up since I'm not drinking anyway...so I'm already plotting using Jet as an excuse to pike out.
Michelle - ways I mess with Jet's head, hmmm, yeah I have to confess to sending him looking for the cat, even when I know she's sleeping somewhere. It's hard with them climbing and falling off things isn't it. Part of me says just let him try it and learn, but then I feel bad when he hurts himself, and I have these horrible images of teeth through lips and broken arms...
Sue - gee thanks for that LOL. Sorry to hear you're still having some hassles with Kane. Do they think the speech/ not babbling is all related to the trachea issues etc? 89cm! I haven't measured Jet for a couple of months, but I know he's grown because he keeps banging his head on the bathroom sink now
Bec - not telling what your SS sent Ella? do we have to wait for Christmas? LOL
OK better go and prepare for tomorrow, I have to give a 20min training session for my course assessment and I have only a vague idea what I'm going to do and no idea how to pull it all together. D'oh.
Hi guys,
My best mate (brodiebunch, you might have seen her on the Hub here and there) has her baby today.... how exciting!
It's our work chrissie party tonight and the secret santa pressies are piling up in the tearoom (well as much as they can pile with 8 staff!) I am so looking forward to it. DP has decided he and Ella will come for an hour and go home in time for normal bedtime which is fine with me.
Kimba.. our SS:xmas: sent us a sparkle book, a bottle of bubble stuff and a wand (which Ella will go nuts over, she loves bubbles!) and the cutest little green and white striped romper, it's like shorts and a singlet in one with ties at the shoulder - it so looks like something I would have worn when I was a toddler. I can't wait for her to wear it! It can be her boxing day "leisure" outfit.
What a bugger with Jet's tanty. I don't know what I will do the day a song or the phone videos don't work anymore!
 Kristin and baby girls!
Jackie it must have been the night for shanks..how do you cook them? We just slow roasted with rosemary and garlic mmmmm. We were supposed to be having a leg but DP got the wrong package out of the freezer!
Maryann, hope you had a great time reuniting with your Mum!
Michelle- well we say "round and round" and Ella does a pirouette after which she almost always falls over.. but it's so cute we get her to do it all the time! But the never fail "go to the loo by yourself" is good old Playhouse Disney. Never fails.
Better go do some work. to everyone I've missed.

Bec ... he he yeh we just slow oven cooked them too...with a tomato base...was yummy.
dp went for a job interview yesterday. it is full time, better pay per hour than his current position, it includes sick pay/holiday pay...it is a 3 weeks rotating roster - think you work 4 days and have 3 days off. i have just worked out we will be about $50 a fortnight better off...Not much at all...but there are the other benefits of sick and holiday pay...and 3 days at home...plus he learns a new skill etc...
so i think if he gets offered it, he will take it...i lose parenting payment completely (we get part payment at the moment- depending on how much he earns in a f/n as he is casual, works 5 days a week tho, but different hours)...
all in all tho i think it will benefit us more...we are still contemplating the move to perth, but just taking it as it comes really.
If DP can't get a job with my brother then we will stay, he may really like the tech position job and decide to stay anyway...so will just take it as it comes....i would go back to work 2 days a week, but i think cos i work in childcare i don't want to put keanu in....not that childcare is bad it is great for them...but every job has it's bad aspects and i know the ins and outs of the industry....and i think that kinda sux!!! but i want to be at home as well, at the moment with him :) so we have to sacrifice something and that at the moment is money. lol...
Hey girls,
Can I say I don't know how you working mums do it? I worked from 9am-12.15pm and then headed straight off to Gymbaroo. I've now only just got Lara asleep, and I am buggered. I'm glad that all of the girls activities are finishing for the year. I just want some quiet days at home.
We went to see The Wiggles yesterday. Lara loved it, she danced and clapped practically the whole hour and a half they were on. Eloise was a but nonplussed by them and I couldn't be stuffed being there as I only had a few hours sleep the night before. Here's (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=12634&id=586174402)some photos...hope it works.
The girls are both officially snotty. I need to buy shares in kleenex.
Not much else to report really. Hope you and your gorgeous babies are all well.
Take care...

HI all,
Sorry i've been MIA again....i've been up in sydney for a few nights for work...actually feeling a tad frazzled at the moment- so much to do for work before the years end and haven't even thought about christmas yet.
We are having my family christmas get together this sunday...so tomorrow I have the day off to try and get organised.
I am very excited about a me moment! I have been doing the whole "lifestyle" change thingy and have lost 5kg in about a month..which is nice but just the beginning, slow and steady! But I have been getting on the treadmill everyday and jogging/walking (I am so not a runner!) well yesterday I ran for 17.5mins straight without stopping.....I was very excited for myself, it might not sound like much, but its a huge acheivement for me! Tonight I am going running on the roads, very scary cause then I have to deal with hillls and stuff....but I am enjoying getting fit so much!
Considering I have been away for a few days nothing else exciting is happening here. We went and finally had Nedds one year old photo sitting done this arvo (he was meant to have it when he fell down the steps the week after he turned one and had a big graze on his face so they got postponed). The photographer asked if we had ever considered registering Nedd for modelling...he behaved perfectly and didn't get grizzly for having been made to sit in certain positions...photographer thought he was a 'natural', I think he just wants us to come back and pay him more money to get a portfolio done! Though if I weren't working fulltime I would love to give it a go!
He is babbling away- and totally understands so much of what we tell him- but no real talking....I think he is lazy, for instance everytime we give him something we try to get him to say ta- simple sound, he has done it before, but no matter how much we with-hold it he will not say it! And then ends up grizzly cause we are teasing him by not giving him things and waving them in his face!
Apparently he threw a major tantrum at daycare today- he has been so super relaxed till now I am really hoping this isn't the start of something!
Advice wanted: My daycarer today said that Nedd cracked it at lunch time cause he didn't want to go into his high chair when the big boys were sitting at the table to eat....so she let him sit at the table too. Now we give him snacks throughout the day at a designated area (which he does really well) but bfast/lunch/dinner are all in the high chair. My DC lady thinks she will just give him lunch at the table now cause he was fine- but I don't want him at the table yet, and am worried if she isn't doing it he won't want to at home either.
So would you put your foot down and try to insist that she keep him in his high chair for a while longer- or am I being an anal control freak of a mother who should get over it?!?!
Just a few personals cause you guys have been too busy to keep up with!
Beck- sorry to hear about poor Kayley, hope she improves quickly, send her lots of hugs! :hugs:
Michelle- Abbey just sounds so adorable! Those kisses....I'd never need a man again if I got kisses off Nedd on cue. He used to give the most brilliant open mouthed sloppy kisses whenever I asked- that stopped about a week ago, and he is withholding all kisses and cuddles until further notice apparently. Unless he has a face full of food, then he will offer them up. lovely!
Kimba- Sorry to hear bout your drama with Jet! I have no advice for you there (except to say that I always ring the dr to ask how late they are running before I go, and sometimes if you aren't too far away they will even call you when your app is getting close, saves you waiting)...hope you figure something out for next time.
Nedd does the throwing himself round on our bed too...our fault cause we are the ones that taught him how! But he can't get up himself yet, so we are safe from too much worry for a little while.
Sare- That is cute re Lara dancing....I saw the video too, she is a sweetie. Nedd has just started really getting into dancing, he has realised that he can move his body in some sort of ryhthym rather than just spinning around! And you'll get used to working....I think us mums manage it cause our kidlets miss out on all the fantastic extra curricular activities your girls do!
To all of those with xmas parties on, enjoy them, or alternatively enjoy not going and having a quiet night at home!
MAryanne- enjoy having your mum back, will your dad be coming down for christmas? Have you got your shifts sorted? And good luck with Santa- hopefully she won't even realise he is a man since he is so not like any other one she will have seen! I am taking Nedd for his picture tomorrow too.
Oh and re the ammonia cloth ladies- I had wondered why Nedd sometimes smells so whiffy....last week was an example and he cut his eye tooth. Might have to watch out for that one- I am hopeless at making connections between things, until after the event!
OK, well speaking of run I best go get organised....besides I have rambled way too much- congrats if you got this far!
Take care all :hugs:

we say "round and round" and Ella does a pirouette after which she almost always falls over.. but it's so cute we get her to do it all the time!
We have a little ballerina here too! We say "Bella-Ballerina go twirly-twirly" and she spins around and then gives herself a big clap. :yelclap: She then proceeds to crack herself (and us) up by doing it over and over until she falls down or walks away like an old drunk sideways!
Sal - I'd have a chat to your DC. If you want Nedd in a highchair a bit longer then let her know. We're the mummies, so we get to make the decisions! Oh, and NICE work on the weight loss!
Off to obst apt in the morning, last month I had only gained 2 kgs in total but I'm sure now I'm 25 weeks it will be ALOT more! Night all!
I don't know how you co-sleeping mums do it. Not that I'm averse to the idea (in fact I'd love to cuddle up to Jet all night!) but it just never works for us. EG, last night Jet woke at 12 and wouldn't resettle, even after some milk. He wasn't upset, just thirsty, then wide awake and wanting mummy to play. So I brought him into our bed to see if he'd sleep there, but he just wriggled and babbled and giggled and squealed and climbed all over us, until I had to banish him back to his cot and give him a 2nd bottle of warm milk to finally get him back off to sleep - at 2.30am.
Needless to say I was shattered today for my training assessment :sleeping:but at least it's over.
Jet has been trying to climb up onto the couch and into the bath and getting very frustrated that he can't quite do it, it's pretty funny  but he gets even more upset if we laugh.
Lucky for me he's still giving lots of kisses and cuddles, and he often has these moments where he gets really 'intense' and will drape his blankie on me then repeatedly hug kiss and even bite me, through the blankie, it's a bit strange I know! but I think it's like his ultimate show of affection to combine his blankie and me? who knows.
Sal - well done on the 5kg and on the running! How good does it feel when you achieve your goals, and that runners' high is hard to beat. Re: Nedd and the highchair, if it was me I probably wouldn't worry about it. I've given up on trying to keep home and daycare consistent - she does what works for her, and I do what works for me, and Jet seems happy so all is good.
I've hardly been using the highchair myself lately because Jet's been a bit off his food and cracking it when I put him in the chair, so he either sits on my lap for meals, or keeps roaming around and comes back to me for another spoonful, or just wanders with finger food in hand. Snacks he just drags all over the place because I can't keep him still! I've stopped stressing about it and trying to establish 'rules', right now it's whatever works at the time, but maybe I'll regret that in the long run...that said, I do want to get him a little table and chair so that I can at least start to get him to sit and eat there...if I'm lucky!
Sare - re: working mums - we do it because we have to, LOL! ah, you just get used to it. Although I ABSOLUTELY hear you on just wanting some quiet days at home. When I have 2 weeks off at Christmas I'm not planning to take Jet out much at all except for some walks to the park etc, which is not really fair to him I guess, but I just don't have the energy...!
Jackie - I think it's great that you're able to stay home and look after Keanu rather than work, and big props to you guys for managing on one salary, we certainly couldn't do it!
Bec - has your friend had her bubba yet? How exciting! I hope all went well. I have a baby shower to go to on the weekend, and I'm feeling so clucky...And your SS gift sounds lovely - lucky Ella!
Well I'm heading to bed to see if I can catch up on some of last night's lost sleep...fingers crossed for a quiet night!
Oh and in case I forget to tell you closer to the date - our MIA pregnant buddy Lynn (Lucy72) is scheduled for her c-section on the 17th December, so she doesn't have long to go now!
PS Kristin missed your post - good luck at the Obs tomorrow, hope all is well...:)

Nedd does that too- he comes into our bed for a cuddle in the mornings, and he will drape his blankie over our faces...its like he is giving us permission to have a bit longer sleep, very cute! And then he will snuggle into the blankie from the other side so we are sharing a side each!

Trust me it aint easy on a low income wage...BUT we are happy and thats the most important thing, we get by, we don't have anything left at the end of the fortnight...but it just comes down to being tight asses and budgetting well...it aint easy at all, and i wish DP made more money, but on 17bucks and hr you can't expect much more...he works hard though!
For me i wud rather sacrifice money and be with keanu...not saying that you working mothers don't....not meaning that in a rude way at all...just saying money isn't the most important thing, i'd rather Get by as such and be with keanu as they grow way too quick...mind you daycare is great and teaches them a lot...so maybe someday i'll go back to work...hehe...
keanu wont sleep with us either Kimba...does the same thing as Jet...iw ud love if he snuggled in but he never has liked it...just wriggles around....
anyway had better go keanu still asleep. he had a temp of 39.4 again yesty and woke at 1.30am with a temp again so he must be a biut tired from that. :fingerscrossed: it isn't another bout of tonsilitis...
Well it finally seems like Lara is sleeping better at night now. We're still having the odd wake up call, but she is mostly sleeping through for 10.5+hrs. Now I've said that, you all know that we'll be in for a shocker tonight ;)
We are having a day at home today. I've told Eloise that I will take her outside to paint while Lara is having her am nap, not my idea of fun and relaxing, but it should keep her happy for about 15mins :hair: She's has been a pain for the last few days, so I've asked my brother and his gf to look after her tomorrow so that I don't go mental. The next week and a half until Christmas needs to go quickly, Eloise just seems to be getting more excited and hypo day by day.
You want to know how stupid I am - yesterday I closed the car door while I was still in the way of it (God only knows how) and I now have a huge egg and bruise on it. I am an idiot!
Kimba - I hope Jet slept better for you last night. Very cute about the blankie. Neither of the girls have had a comfort item...maybe one would have helped Lara sleep better. Oh and I bet Jet will love having you to himself for those 2 weeks you have off and won't care the least about not doing heaps of activities.
Kristin - Hope all goes well at your obs appointment. It won't be too long until you are holding your little girl in your arms.
Sal - Well done on the 5kgs. What you're doing is obviously working for you. Well done on the exercise too...I wish I had some of your dedication.
Have fun at your Christmas get together this weekend.
Bec - Did your friend have a boy or girl? All this talk of new babies is starting to make me clucky again (although not to the point where I want to have one just yet...give it a few more months)
Better go and chase my smelly girl...Hope you all have a great day... :reindeer:
Co-Sleeping - Abbey either has booby, rolls over and goes to sleep, or has booby and then gets wriggly and climby and silly. But if she's in bed with me and has had boob, its sleeptime and I will turn out the lights, snuggle up to her to hold her still, and pretend to be asleep. If she gets away i just drag her back for more snuggles, still pretending to be asleep, until she gets bored and goes to sleep too.
Maybe its the bed associations? Jet uses the bed as a trampoline, Abbey only gets changed and sleeps on it.
A lot of the time she wont settle for sleep unless she is touching me though, so she will starfish with one hand on me, just to make sure i dont escape!
Eating spaces - abbey has her high chair for dinner and cereal, but if i leave her there alone she will start throwing her food on the floor. She doesnt argue about getting in it, just makes it clear she wants mummy to be part of the meal. Toast is in front of the tv, lunch is on the dining room floor. No real rules around here. Which is obvious as i look around at the trail of destruction. I wonder if im raising an independant, free spirited child or a little monster...
I want to get her a little table & chairs too but i want something nicer than those plastic ones and have other priorities first. Like a new TV cabinet that if she climbs it wont collapse and crush her.
Didnt we all call Lynn Lucy? And she never corrected us!
Sal - that is awesome on the running! Im so lazy I cant get into a routine but any time i have been working out regularly i love it. Never got up to running though, I hate feeling my fat jiggle!
For tantrums has anyone tried having their own and seeing if bubs is shocked into silence? It doesnt work for me as I spend all day squealing and yelling with abbey, so its all blase to her.
Someone told me toddlers have 'poo spots' - places in the room or house they prefer to go to at poo time. Anyone noticed their toddler doing that? I think abbey might prefer to do hers in her tv spot, she tends to go there even if its not on. I hope when i start potty training i dont have to have the potty in front of the tv all the time. That would be wrong.
Bec, you sly mummy! Yay!
argh, CSA have no record of our last conversation where they were instructed to take from ex's salary, and now centrelink have reduced my amounts to accommodate this new money i supposedly get, and CSA cant get any until mid february and my ex is going to go ape-$h!t and im stressing. Stupid stress. Makes my eye twitch.
I'm a very attractive twitchy woman
Everybody chant ...'goooosfraaabaah' 'goooosfraaabaah' 'goooosfraaabaah'
Its good though, everytime I think maybe I should bring him in for a booty call, something happens to warn me off. Thank you jeebus!

OMG!! :yelclap: YAY Bec, Congratulations!! What a surprise!! :yelclap:
:shame: on me again, I know. I've been very neglectful of my fellow October Mummies.....I'm sorry.
I've been reading all the posts, I just haven't has too much to say.
Sal: Re: the table vs highchair issue - When M was graduating from the highchair to the chair at daycare, I just let him go for it. e wouls still sit in the highchair at home for me, cos that was all he knew. Dunno, perhaps they can already understand different rules for different places, lol! I wouldn't stress too much about it. If he does end up not wanting to sit in the highchair at home, you could always ask that he gets put back into one at daycare.
J is walking more and more now, although he is still using a good mix of both crawling and walking to get around. He loves playing the walking game with my Mum and I....He'll stand up at me, and then walk the distance between me and her. He only plays it with us. He makes me laugh. Doesn't look like that Molar made an appearance either....was just giving him grief I think. All has settled again eith it now, and he's back to eating just fine! Yesterday for lunch, he had 2 bowls of beef stir fry, a yoghurt, a pear, then a biscuit.....what a pig, lol!
My little man, T, is having his 3rd birthday on Sunday!! We're having a little party for him, just with family. He's asked for a Thomas birthday, so we have him some Thomas plates and cups, some Thomas serviettes, and a Thomas tablecloth. My sister and I are also making him a Thomas cake. Keep your fingers crossed for us that it works out the way we want it too!!
Best be off. I woke up with a terrible migraine this morning, then proceeded to :barf:, and I'm still not feeling the best. The computer is probably the worst spot for me to be sitting right now...
Have a good day, Sarah
Oh, and Bec....hurry up and get back here to fill us in on the goss!!!! :smiliedance:

Hi Ladies....
BEC...your a sly one! :smiliedance::smiliedance::smiliedance: Congrats, thats wonderful news, I am so jealous!
Been out this morning, think I am getting organised slowly but surely. I hate christmas for the horrible feeling of losing control it brings me, I am always paranoid about forgetting something major. I write, rewrite, and write again lists like they are going out of fashion at this time of the year.
Thanks for the advice re highchair at daycare. I think I will let it go- when I am actually honest I think it is more about the thought that my daycarer is making important decisions about Nedd's development without consulting me, I hate that I don't get to control that part of him and that he is growing up at daycare faster than I might want him to!....made worse by the fact that I have just upped his day care from three days to four next year, which I hate...he will be with his carer more days than he is with me  :gloomy:  Ahh mummy guilt- don't you love it!
:yelclap: Oh wow, Huge Congratulations Bec!!!! How exciting, you must be over the moon :cloud9: When will you be due???
I got all clucky today, a colleague brought her new baby into work and he was 9 weeks old, awww so cute, and his birthday is the same as Jet's! (1 year apart) Her birth experience was almost identical to mine too (induced 2 weeks over, long labour ending in emerg c due to big bub in bad position), what are the odds on that, LOL.
Sal :hugs: I totally hear you on the daycare thing, especially the growing up too fast, and the 4 days a week 'he's in care more than he's with me' situation, I've been living with that anxiety/ guilt for the last 8 months...sigh.
We're just in way too much debt for me not to work, esp with DH on minimum wage...I'm basically working just to keep us on top of our bills and debts, there's nothing left over...I'm actually looking into debt solutions at the moment to take some of the financial pressure off and allow me to focus more on my family, because it's really been stressing me out!
Jackie - it's so good that Keanu isn't really attached to his bottle!!! I'm facing that dilemma at the moment, I know I should be weaning Jet off bottles for the sake of his teeth, but he refuses to drink milk from a cup and has gotten really attached to his naptime and bedtime bottles. And lately he's re-started waking in the night and wanting a bottle to resettle, which is really hard, because he holds his little hand out and asks repeatedly for 'mamo' (what he calls milk) and whimpers really sadly if I don't give him any :( makes me feel so horrible! but I'm trying not to give it to him...
Sarah - you poor thing with your MS and migraine. I hope you feel better soon, and that Tallan's birthday party is great and that your Thomas cake turns out well! I can never get over how much Jarvis eats, LOL.
Michelle - yeah Jet definitely thinks our bed is a wrestling ring so I'm sure that has something to do with it. DON'T get the ex in for a booty call - he's ex for a reason! LOL. That theory about poo spots is very interesting, I'll have to pay more attention! Jet squats down and grunts so it's really obvious when he's doing one :laughing:come to think of it I do notice him doing it quite often in the middle of the loungeroom, but then again that's where he spends lots of his time...
Sare - YAY Lara on sleeping better! I hope she keeps it up. Sorry that Eloise is doing your head in - that's what the rest of the family is for! LOL. The blankie is cute but it can be a curse, especially if Jet can't find it in the middle of the night and gets upset...
OK better go and make myself some dinner. Have a good weekend everyone!
hahaha, didn't want to say any more cos DP was at work & I hadn't told him yet!
Haven't been to the doc yet as I couldn't get in, but the test was a resounding positive. Of course I had to jump straight on and use a due date calculator! 15th August, and I'm only in my 6th week. I wouldn't dream of telling anyone else yet but I had to tell you guys!
The big clue was the work Christmas party... Ella fell over before I got home and smacked her nose & mouth against the slate floor, and I was so worried about her I wanted to go home when she and DP did (at 9pm.. she had a blast). Then I just didn't want to get drunk, and I was freezing and noone else was (that was a big symptom for me last time as I'm usually the last one to put a jumper on!)
So I tested yesterday morning and bingo!!:cloud9: We are so happy about it! But I told DP I want to see a financial planner as soon as we know whether or not I have the new job - we're doing ok but I want some professional help to make sure we manage with another bubba.
Kimba, we often cosleep from 4am onwards... it's just easier atm than trying to resettle her. She just likes sleeping snuggled up to us. DP often naps with her still so I guess she's never gotten out of the habit. That's no good about the debt. Maybe you could try the free financial counsellors in your area?
hey Sal - wow you sound like a serious planner! DP gets much more stressed about going away than I do. I think that's pretty natural to resent someone else making developmental decisions about Nedd. I think its one of the scary things we're going to have to get used to!
Sarah - hope you're feeling heaps better today. Migraines are horrible. How exciting with the 3rd birthday. It must be so great when they are old enough to get into it! Lol at the Thomas cake. I think I'd only be doing his face!
Jack - haha we are a long way from no more milk here. Ella sooks every morning when her sippy cup runs dry!
Michelle - are you an attractive twitcher cos people just think you're winking at them? That's awful about the money. Like you said, good to keep the ex out of your pants though.
I was going to walk down the street today because they're having a day long Christmas party and I wanted to see how Ella goes with Santa! But it's getting hot already and down isn't the problem... it's pushing the damn pram back up the hill to our place! (Yass is very hilly)
have a good weekend chickies!!!

I WISH keanu would drink milk...it kinda worries me but kinda doesnt....
Kimba - i wasn't really fussed about the bottle...i was allwoing til 18 months....if it is only on wake up and b4 bed with milk in it then personally i don't really see a problem....from working in childcare most of the bubs til 2 had bottles still....i think from 2 personally i would wean them off it...but i wouldn't stress too much...but that's just my thoughts...
Not much to report here. we just went out shopping for the morning, we got some new bonds singlets, and 3 one piece rompers...(is any1 still using them)..i got sum sleevless ones cheap and thut they be good for summer...plus they do look CUTE! Lol....even Dp commented the other day how cute his peter rabbit one is..lol.

Hello Ladies,
First of all to clear up confusion... my entire family call me Lucy but my name is actually Lynette (shortened to Lynn by some). It is like Beck instead of Rebecca or Libby instead of Olivia. I usually only get Lynette when I am in trouble - just one of those things you grow up with I suppose....
Bec - congratulations on the bub news. Another one to enter the madness again!
Well as Kimba said, I am booked in on Monday 17 December at 7am for the next bub. I am now overdue (due 14 December) and bubs head is engaged and it is ready to come out. My mobile phone is broken at the moment but will let Sare and Kimba know when we get the chance.
Very over it this time and really feel for those who are at the end of pregnancy in Jan and Feb - the humidity is killing me! Today I was in the garden and had to sit in the pool to cool off.... Too much for me!
Jordan is going well. He is into everything and has to know what is going on all the time. He has nearly all his teeth through (except for the 2 year old molars) just waiting on one more eye tooth to come through and we will be done. Eating wise - whatever I have he has. Bananas (thank god they have come down in price!!!), apples, cheese, dip and bikkies, he loves Butter Chicken and Naan bread, spaghetti, lasagne. I think the only thing he has turned his nose up at are strawberries - which I don't know why!
A bit worried how he is going to handle seeing Mummy with another bubby that is not going away. Further more I am starting to get a bit nervous about seeing him in hospital as I have never spent a night without him since coming home from hospital.
Anyway girls I am off to bed to try to sleep some tonight as I don't know if I am going to sleep much tomorrow night!!!
Hugs to your bubs and will send through some photos when I have a chance! Have a great Christmas!
Lucy, Kev, Savanna, Jordan and 32 hours to go bub!

Hey Girls
I can't beleive it is almost xmas!
I have been a bit slack. I can't shake this cold which Kaylye gave me and have been feeling horrid! Kayley is almost finished her antibiotics and appears to be a lot better although she is still coughing.
We have an inspection tomorrow (I hate renting) so we have been cleaning today and the house is sparkling - will have to go out to tea tonight so we don't make a mess!!
Bec - congrats on the BFP - so many new bubbas coming its amazing!
Kimba - we often cosleep if Kayley is up early (4am or so) becuase I can't be bothered resettling her again. Sometimes she just wriggles and ends up back in bed but other times she goes to sleep. As for climbing up on the bed, she has been doing it for a while here but she can get down well. We do do the bouncey thing though and sometimes she gets a bit close to the edge for my liking! My mum thinks it is strange that she is climbing up on everything but still refuses to walk!
Lucy - Jordan will get used to another bub I am sure! Might just need a bit of extra attention from DH for a while!
Sal - congrats on the weight loss!! I really need to get out and do more exercise but never seem to have time for it! I think I have put on a kilo or so if anything recently!! Oh and 17.5 minutes is a good effort (I hate runnign too!)
Jack - I wouldn't be too worried about the milk. It happens a bit from what I here. That is why I haven't pushed the real milk and kept Kayley on toddler formula for now as I think she would stop too (she didn't like it).
Sare - glad Lara liked the wiggles - I am going to go to the next one so Kayley can have a boogie too!!
Well I have to run - sorry for no more personals. Take care everyone.
Hi all,
GOOD LUCK TOMORROW Lyn!!! hope that all goes well, this time tomorrow you'll have your little one in your arms and Jordan will be wondering what on earth is going on, bless him.
Sad household here tonight as our next door neighbour passed away suddenly today, he had a heart attack in his kitchen :( His son and one of our other neighbours found him late this afternoon because they hadn't been able to contact him all day :( He was a really sweet friendly guy, adored Jet, and will be very much missed...
Prior to that sad discovery I took Jet to my friend's baby shower today, and man did he wear me out! The joys of a very active toddler...I SOOO understand now why my friends with kids always looked so frazzled and left parties early - we always thought their kids were being quite good (as did my friends today), but I realise now it was only due to the huge effort on Mum's part, keeping them under control!
Today I spent 4 hours running after Jet, pulling him down off things, taking things out of his hands/ mouth, or putting them out of reach. The house the party was held at was not even remotely baby-safe, and there were toddler temptations everywhere - for instance pool balls and cues in reach, right next to a big fishtank (OMG can you imagine the potential for disaster right there???). Due to the party there were glasses and bottles and plates etc everywhere right at 'toddler height'...and Jet seemed to make a beeline for everything that was most dangerous or breakable, of course! Especially the slippery brick steps leading to the pool fence where the huge dog was locked away for the day, which was just the ultimate 'beacon' for Jet, I couldn't keep him away. Lucky the dog is good with kids...
It was pouring rain too, and since Jet was soaked anyway I took him for a swim in their pool which he loved, but do you think I could get him dressed afterwards? he was running around the place starkers while I chased after him with nappy and clothes in hand..."the stripper is here!" LOL.
In other news, Jet has just worked out the concept of his 'shape sorter' and spends ages getting frustrated trying to fit shapes through the wrong hole or pull the shape back through the hole he just put it through, he's close but can't quite work it out properly yet, it so cute to watch
Speaking of which, how cute is it when your bubba can't do something and they bring it to you holding it up to you, with total faith that Mama can fix it/ make it work? Awww, that trust in your abilities...even cuter when Jet always comes to Mama for help, not DH (good for my ego anyway, LOL)
Beck - hope your inspection goes well tomorrow, and that you feel better soon, and that Kayley's cough goes away (Jet's has been hanging around forever too)
Jack - I wouldn't worry too much about the milk for Keanu, if you're giving him cheese/ yogurt etc. At least you don't have to worry about weaning him off a bottle later :) I think the onesies are really cute, I'd be still using them but I can't get any to fit Jet any more! And Bonds singlets are the best aren't they
Bec - oooh a Leo baby, yay! I'm so, so happy for you and DP, you must both be on :cloud9: - what an awesome christmas present!
As for cosleeping from 4am, we haven't done that since Jet stopped breastfeeding and I think I'm the only one who misses it! every time I try, Jet just thinks it's wrestling/ play time...sigh. Next baby maybe!? LOL.

yeh im not to worried about the milk...he totally went of formula....at around 11.5 months so this is when i changed to cows milk and he LOVED it...now he may have a max of 100mls in a day but yep he ats a lot of yoghurt and cheese etc...

yes love the one pieces and i just went and bought some more bonds singlets...and a bonds one piece....too cute...in this hot muggy weather they are great!
HOW MANY SLEEPS ARE YOYR BUBS HAVIN????
beck - hope you feel better soon...and you have to love inspections lol...i am cleaning today as i have my mum and dad arriving tomorrow...YAY!!!!
so this is a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR...i will try to get on but may not...so if not have a lovely day, spoil the kids rotten and enjoy yourselves....
i shud be back on today some time...
:tree::xmas::snow::noel:
We had a full house this weekend and Abbey loved it. Always someone to play with, including another baby. Now my house is an absolute disaster zone and needs cleaning but I'm too tired. Call the maid!
Does anyone have a fear that their child will constantly be in the shadow of a relative the same age? Abbey is wonderful and ahead of some of her targets and I'm so proud of everything she does, but her cousin who is exactly the same age is nearly a year more advanced. Lots of words, animal noises, animal actions, out of sight motor skills etc (to be honest, she strikes me as weird!)..and here I am proudly saying how Abbey can do this or this, and it gets shrugged off because someone else did it first and did it better. I'm not concerned about Abbey's development at all, proud as punch, but I am concerned she wont be valued as highly as her cousin as they will be compared throughout their whole lives.
Kimba - had to LOL at Jet's antics. Think about it from his perspective - that house is AWESOME! Will that be the baby's house? Its funny to see how people think they can put off baby proofing until the last minute. My bro barricades his baby in one room most of the day as he cant be bothered baby proofing the rest of the house - although he has realised he is going to lose that battle and is now finally tiling the floors so bubs can get out and play (he thinks bub shouldnt crawl on concrete floors as he will get dirty. Go figure).
Shape sorting is so cute isnt it? Abbey can do star, square, circle...but those darn triangles make her mad. She gives it a good try, pushes harder, twiggling it around the right hole, but has trouble lining up those points. Nup, stupid triangle, *chuck* across the room!
Beck - good luck with the inspection, theyre such a pain in the bottom. I got my dad to drill some brackets to the wall to hold Abbey's chest of drawers up in case of climbing, so i will just cover those with teddy bears when the real estate visits. I feel so much better now when i hear her clanging the drawers in and out, it cant fall and crush her.
Jackie - rompers are cute, but they dont come in Abbey's size. She does have a playsuit (combined singlet and shorts), so its nearly the same thing. It makes her look much younger and more innocent instead of :devil6:
Swimming lesson at 10am I think i will ignore. Abbey will be too tired today thanks to her ungodly wake up and she is grumpy enough without adding sleepy to the mix. They break for holidays today too, so i think i will call it the end of her lessons for now and try again in 6 months. She wouldnt even sit in the bath with another baby to distract her, water is too scary. Only way she gets clean now is in the shower, only happy if she is up with mummy. Gotta hope its a phase and my splashy bear comes back soon!
Sleeps? 10.30-12.30, thats it. One nap per day, then into bed by 7pm. Unless she really really needs a sleep, or if she's really really pi$$ing me off and mummy needs a break and just happens to trick Abbey into napping.

m_jelly..i bet the suit is cute. lol..yes it does make them look cute and younger...hehe...keanu is in 0 so they still fit....just...mind you he is still in 00 in shorts.
Abbey is devloping wonderfully and like you said you are proud as punch...and thats what counts...that she sees and gets the excitement and joy from you guys when she reaches her milestones....keanus cosuins were walkjing at 9 months and 12/13 months...keanu isn't yet....he will when he is ready...he isn't advanced, well i would say he is average...i am not concened at all with his development, i am happy and proud like yourself...maybe your nieces parents are focusing too much on learning and not letting them be children...
i must admit i nhad a child like this in my class...babies room that is...he cud read ABC, say this and that, etc etc....and it was like what the??? mum and dad spent a lot of time doing the learning stuff with him...he wasn't able to be a child because of this...they are only babies/young once let them enjoy it...
i read to keanu we sing abc but it is more fun than anything else....
I'm jigging swimming lessons today too, Bad Mummy, but today was the last lesson, and I'm just too knackered. Have to do a big grocery shop this afternoon and I don't have the energy for both! Also, it's raining and I have to either walk to the pool or take Jet on the bus and neither option is very attractive right now...plus it's always well after lunch before we get home which means Jet misses his lunchtime sleep, which he really needs to catch up on today, after yesterdays craziness...
Anyway, I can take Jet to the pool every day while I'm on holidays if I want, I can replicate most of the lessons - he loves 'Humpty Dumpty' and falling off the wall into the water (repeatedly!) so I think I can remember that one
Deliberating at the moment whether to bother trying to switch him into the Saturday swim class for next term because then at least I'd have the car and DH could come and help - very tempting! but I kind of like my quiet Monday class, and the walk there is my only exercise for the week!
Jackie re: Sleeps: at daycare (4 days a week) Jet only has one sleep a day from about 12-2, personally I don't think it's enough because he's up early (6.30-7am) and obviously overtired when I get home at 5, and crashes at 6-6.30pm. He's been having horrible night terrors again too :hissy: which are apparently linked to overtiredness :(. His carer says he won't sleep in the mornings though, it's too noisy from the other kids. So on the days I have him at home I try to get him down for a morning nap, and then another afternoon nap if I can, just to catch up a bit. Doesn't always work though! He's actually meant to be sleeping now, but I can hear him jibbering away in his cot...you're lucky Keanu is still an 0! I wish Jet was, so that I could still buy cute baby things for him. He's well into 2's now, but I partially blame that on the fact that we have to use a dryer for laundry, so I think his things do shrink a bit, even on the low setting.
Michelle - Abbey is way more advanced than Jet by the sounds of things, a gorgeous clever girl! But I totally hear you on the overshadowing. My nephew is 5 months older than Jet and he was the first grandchild, so nothing new that Jet does is 'new' or exciting for anyone else IYKWIM - IE my nephew has already done it, and is of course by now doing it better since he's had more practice, or has moved onto something far more interesting. What makes it worse is that my nephew lives in the same town as my parents so they see him constantly, whereas they hardly ever see Jet. (Mum even looks after my nephew one day a week instead of childcare - oh to be that lucky!) So yeah, every time I talk to my parents about Jet and what he's been up to, they compare him to my nephew - not deliberately of course, but it's like 'oh yes Nephew has been doing that for a while now' or 'Nephew is doing this and that and the other' which is always bigger and better, as you'd expect from an older child. And when we go to visit them, if my nephew comes over, Dad still really focuses his attention on him rather than Jet, I guess because he's more used to him or something? (I REALLY hope that changes when poor Jet is old enough to notice!!!)
It drives me up the wall, and I used to get quite upset about the way Dad would always start raving on about my nephew whenever I was telling him about Jet - but what can you do?
I do feel quietly proud/ vindicated though when Jet starts doing things now that my nephew is only just doing himself, or when Jet is even better at some things! hehehe.
Anyway better make the most of my now quiet, hopefully-sleeping son and go have a shower. Enjoy your day everyone...

Morning all....well I am being a neglectful mummy here today, shipped Nedd off to day care and I have taken a sickie!!!! ;)
Although it is all his fault though- we had the night from hell here last night.
I think you realise its going to be a bad night when you spend from 12-2am propped upright in bed with Nedd in your arms because thats the only way he will sleep! He woke with a cold yesterday (not that bad though) and combine that with a family christmas 'do yesterday playing with all his cousins, and no sleep and you have a recipe for disaster! But he just coughed and wheezed and grizzled till I got him into our bed at 11.30pm and pretty much continued that theme for the rest of the night unless he was propped upright in my arms. GRRRR! :(
So I have ditched him today so I can catch up on rest!
Yesterday was a great day- we all go off to our inlaws for chrissie this year, so my immediate family got together yesterday, and it was exactly the way a christmas day should be. Lunch went from 12-5 just grazing on about 6 courses. Interspersed with present openings and playing botche and chasing the kids around, there are now 5 cousins aged 4yrs-8mnths (only one girl- poor thing) lots of fun!....very relaxing day!
This week is relatively quiet for me.... not really out on the road, just finishing up admin work which is nice as I am so over driving!
WHat is everyone doing for chrissie?
We head down to the inlaws in Sale for the week....which will be nice to be away and not have to do much, but it is hard work playing nice with the MIL, atleast she is working so I won't see her all the time! They are only 30mins away from the beach, so we will take Nedd for his first visit there and probably do some catching up with friends down there also.
Michelle- I am the same with Nedd's development, he has two older cousins who were way more advanced at communicating at the same age....but I also have a nephew who is 3mnths younger than Nedd who is way behind! So it is all kinda being balanced out. I think Abbey sounds WAY ahead of where she 'should' be at, and if you've a neice who is even more advanced then you breed bright bubs!! YOu should be very proud of your clever little chickie!
Kimba- I am so hearing you on the hurricane baby! We went to DH's sisters house last night on our way home, and they are young 20something trendies who had breakable everywhere! It is exhausting just following your child around taking things off them and saying no isn't it?!?! And people wonder why I a suddenly so keen to always invite them over to my house for a coffee rather than going out like we used to- it is so much more relaxing in your own baby friendly environment!
Beck- Thats a bummer you are still feeling under the weather...do you get any time off over christmas? ANd I am really surprised you are having an inspection already- aren't they meanth to leave you be for 6mnths?!? I am so hating renting already! I have never really donw it properly before (just share houses) and trying to get things done by the agents is ghastly....I can't even get our property manager to return y phone calls let alone act on anything, we had sewerage overflowing last week and it took 24hrs for the to do anything. ANd we have gone without tv reception for 3wks that we have been here.  Arghh can't wait till we have built!
Jackie- Nedd is usually down to 1 sleep- 11.30 till 2.00/2.30....but if he wakes early/is teething/ has a cold etc etc he has two sleeps. I personally don't think he is ready to have one sleep- but try telling him that!!
But either way he has a total of 2.5-3hrs all up.
Oh and I still put Nedd in onesies, mostly at night for sleep, they look so cute! :hugs:
This weekend I got out some gorgeous outfits that DH wore when he was a baby...they are just fitting Nedd now, so very cute 70's outfits, one with little bloomer type shorts and a white shirt with sail boats on it, and one little knitted top with ducks and little knitted tight blue shorts, he lookes absolutely adorable in them! I will have to upload some pics! MIL will be so excited to see him wearing them.
OK, well I best be off to do some actual work!
Lucy will most likely have her new bubby by now! :smiliedance:
I think all the SS presents have been sent & received now. And 90% of them opened for a peeksie!
(I know I did)

hI cHICKIES.....
Jack - Yes, Kimba is superwoman, it's true!! re : sleeps, Sophia has one biggy during the day 2 hours or so then sleeps 8 - 6, milk then asleep 'til 8:30 which is lovely
Kimba - Thanks for not so ss, is perfect! When can we catch up this week? re: tantys, you poor love, he really is his own little person which is great, just not in public like that!
Bec - Huge congrats to you both, that is very exciting! I didn't realise you were trying.
Sal - Sounds like a good plan, I could soooo do a day to myself!
Sorry, i've gotta go, that was poor attempt at personals but I am so obscenely busy atm and just really looking forward to a break which I will try and catch up more as I should have a laptop up and running!
lots and lots of love

Hi everyone.
Firstly a biiiiig congratualtions to Bec on a :bfp: Thats terrific news. Wow there are sooo many pregnant october mummies.
Lucy - Hope all went well today and look forward to hearing from you when things settle down!!.....
Not much happening here.. been super busy trying to look for somewhere to live. find a builder to build our house, and pack and work and have fun with a vivacious 1 year old...
Its all just fun and games isnt it....
Have finished all my chrissy shopping except for my mother, I am looking for something special seeing as though she has been helping us out soooooooooooooooooooo much over the last 5 months!!..
Wont hang round and bore you all, just thought I would pop on and say Hi, hope everyone is keeping well and hopefully I will pop on on thursday for a better chat...
Take care all...........
Hi girls,
Lara has a new word that she has practised using over and over today... danda (Santa). I think she's learning the excitement over Christmas thing off her big sister.
Not much else happening. Lara's sleeping patterns have altered again (for the worse). I think those molars are getting ready to make an appearance. The girls are still snotty and coughing lots at night (not fun is it Sal?) but are okay otherwise.
Are any of the kids still using a dummy? Eloise stopped using one around 10 months, but Lara loves hers. I'm not sure how longer to let her have one for. She only really uses it at sleep times.
Mary-Anne - Wow, it sounds like you have your hands full. How long have you got until settlement on your house? Did you decide not to rent your place back from the buyer?
Georgia - Hi, good to hear from you again. Will things slow down a bit for you after Christmas, or are you crazy busy all year round at the restaurant?
Michelle - I shook, but didn't open Lara's SS present. Not sure how I managed that. It is safely hidden away with all the girls presents ( I told Eloise that I was sending it off to Santa to bring back to our place on Christmas Eve...thank goodness she didn't ask why. :p)
re Abbey's development...I always read your posts and think how advanced Abbey sounds. Lara's not saying half of the things that Abbey does, the only animal noise is quack (which she uses for all animals ) and Abbey started walking so much earlier. But they each develop at their own rate. Abbey and her cousin probably will be compared because of their closeness in age, I guess that's just human nature, but you'd hope that they'd realise that Abbey deserves to be validated for her achievements too. On the positive side, they will probably end up having different strengths too. I'm sure it will all be okay.
Sal -Hope you got some well earned rest today. How's Nedd now. Hopefully he's better for you tonight.
Christmas for us will be Christmas Eve family Mass, then watching Carols on TV. Up bright and early for pressies. My brothers and sister are coming over between 8am and 9am to give the girls the swing set that they bought for them. Then off to dh's parents for Christmas lunch. Stay there till about 3pm and then head off to my parents for dinner, drinks and more pressies. It'll be busy, but I'm sure we'll have a ball just seeing the girls so happy and excited.
Kimba - DH takes Lara for swimming lessons on Saturdays. It's definitely busier than during the week, but at least I don't have to get into the pool.
Jackie - Lara's still having 2 sleeps, but lately they have been 2 short ones. I think Eloise started having 1 day sleep around 14 months from memory, but I may try to change Lara a little earlier. We'll see how we go.
Better go. dh is bathing the girls and Lara is screaming after being taken out. :hair: I don't know why she does it for him and not me?
Take care...
You know you're in for a long night when your son has woken crying 3 times already and it isn't even 10 yet...sigh.
Jet was totally my little shadow today, wasn't remotely interested in DH when he got home from work, cried when I closed the door to the bathroom, and insisted on climbing into my shower with me fully clothed (wouldn't even wait for DH to strip him off). DH was feeling a bit rejected I think! It's nice to be loved :D
Haven't heard from Lucy's husband yet so still waiting to hear whether she had a boy or a girl, I will let you know if / when I hear something.
Sare - no dummy for us, Jet never really took to one. Very attached to his bottle right now though, for settling to sleep, which is much the same isn't it...actually probably worse when you think about his teeth...Lara is so clever with her talking! Jet will often copy me saying things, but no new words have really 'stuck' lately, his repertoire is much the same as it's been for a while. No animal sounds except the occasional copying of me saying meow or woof, but that's rare.
Maryanne - don't envy you having to find somewhere to live and pack and move at this time of year and with a 1 year old - I sure couldn't manage it! I hope it all works out for you really soon :hugs:
Georgia - Glad that you like Sophia's SS - I actually left one bit of the present out when I was putting it all together, found it at home that afternoon. So I'll give it to you when I see you - Wednesday is good for me? (Have a funeral Thursday and can't do Friday)
Sal - you poor thing with your night from hell last night - I have a feeling I'm in for one of those tonight. Hope Nedd is feeling better and most importantly sleeps better tonight. Those old outfits of your DH's sound so cute, can't wait to see photos.
For Chrissie we're going down to my parents' place on the 24th, spending the big day at my brothers' place, and driving back home on the 26th because DH has to work the next day. Bit of a flying visit and no beach fun for us :( but that's what you get when you're married to a Postie - this is their busiest time of year.
Oh yeah, I just uploaded heaps of recent Jet photos to flickr if anyone wants to have a stickybeak at my little monster...
toodle-pip!

- Where 1 serve is equal to: 30gm meat, fish, poultry OR 1/2 cup dried beans, peas, lentils OR 1 egg
* Butter/Margarine
1 - 2 teaspoons per day
I hope this comes in as handy to you all as it does for me!!
I'll try and pop in again later to catch up. Anyone heard about Lucy's new baby yet??
Ok, I'm back. I've just taken M for his last Kinder for the year. They are having a church session, which I ditched :shame:, then a little party, play, and we are going to go back about 3.00pm to watch them sing their Christmas songs....bless their little hearts!
T's 3rd birthday went well on Sunday! He had a great time, and was very spoilt!! Our last visitors left here at about 5.00pm, and by 5.05pm, T was fast asleep on the couch. He was totally knackered, lol!!
Funny story: Whilst saying goodbye to the in laws, J woke from his sleep. I was outside, and my lil sis said she would get him up. All of a sudden, I heard this very urgent cry for help from her, calling for Mum to hurry up, she needed help. So, I cut my goodbyes short, and raced inside. I found her in J's room, with poo all over her top, and J on the change mat with Mum, with no nappy on. I'm like "What's happened?". She's totally grossed out by this stage, and says, "He's done a poo, but he's taken his nappy off. It's all over me. I can't find the nappy....".
God I laughed  This was the first time J had done this, and I'm hoping it's the last!! Luckily, there wasn't much of a mess, and it was pretty much contained to the nappy. I remember when T did it....I had to have his window open overnight. There was poo from here to next week, and worse still, he was covered in it from head from toe :barf: The funny things children do hey, lol!!
J definitley has a molar. It's the one on his top right. I wondered why he was a cranky pants the other night, and it didn't dawn on me that it could be teeth  So I found a nice little surprise the next day when I had a poke and found it!! I can feel the other one too, bulging at the gum ready to burst through any time.
he has also really started prefecting this walking thing too!! He gets himself up now, and wanders off before deciding to crawl again. He's getting a lot more confident with it, although he is still alternating between the two. He's a lot quicker when he's crawling....I think that's why he likes to crawl over walking, as he can keep up with the boys, lol.
Sare: Mack was attached to the dummy until he was about 3 years old!! I swore I'd never allow it to happen again, and I've been lucky that neither T or J has taken to the dummy. It was hard as he got older to get him off the dummy, but I told him that if he wanted it, he needed to leave it on his bed until sleep time. Then, when T was about 18months, he started biting the ends of M's dummies, and I told M that it was too dangerous for me to have the dummies in the house, and we needed to throw them out now. It worked!! I hope the girls are over their snottiness before Christmas. There seems to be a lot of if still going around. The constant change in weather sure doesn't help!
Re: Sleeps: J seems to have dropped back to the one sleep again. I still try for the mornign one, but he gets so angry and upset, then I do, that I've just started getting himup again, and trying again after lunch. He drops off to sleep straight away after lunch, so I guess this is what he'd prefer to be doing now. It really depends on how long he'll sleep for. Perhaps anywhere bewteen 1.5 - 3 hrs.
Kimba: :hugs:Such horrible news to hear about your neighbour. Hope all is ok with you and his family. How's Jet after his bout of clingyness last night? It is so nice to be loved, but sometimes, I wish they wouldn't take it so far, lol!! The only time J wants DH is the day he gets home from QLD. Any other time, he only wants me. Gets a little hard at times!
Christmas for us is going to be at home again :smiliedance: I can't stand the thought of packing the children up and heading off to someone else's place. They will have all of their new stuff here, and will just want to play with it! We were meant to be having Christams Eve with DH's Mum and step dad, but of course, she is being hard to deal with, again, and is insisting she see the children on the Christmas Day. So, we'll have my Mum, sister, her partner, my Dad and his partner, and us here for lunch, then MIL will pop over later in the day. Christmas is such a busy time, especially when there are broken families..... I'm trying to look forward to it though, andI can't wait to see the boys reactuions when they see what Santa has bought them!!
I'd better go and get some of the garden cleaned up before next week. DH is going to be flat out when he gets home at the end of the week, and I'm trying to get as much done as I can to help him out....aren't I so nice??
Have a good day, Sarah

Just wanted to let you know that
:flowerz: Lynn/Lucy had a GIRL :flowerz:
Aleisha Ruth Olivia
4.125kg
52.5cm long
From the photos she looks absolutely gorgeous!
:babydust2:Big Congratulations Lynn Kevin and Jordan on the newest addition to your family! :babydust2:
Congratulations Lucy, :smiliedance: Wow you breed big healthy bubbas - and tall too!
Jack  for now, have a good one!
Sarah, ROFL at the poo story. But it's only funny cos it wasn't me! :p Ella is cutting some top molars and is a bit clingy too. Plus she was a complete poo head last night, awake from 3 til 4.30 thinking she was so funny...
hey it's home time :smiliedance:
Hi girls,
:smiliedance: Congratulations, Lucy, Kevin and Jordan on the safe arrival of Aleisha. :smiliedance:
I agree with Kimba, she looks gorgeous in the photos.
We had a great day today. I took the girls into the city (on the train for the first time) and we went to the ABC Christmas Concert with the Fairies, Bananas in Pyjamas, Fifi and Bumble, the Koala Brothers, Spot, Fireman Sam and Postman Pat. It was great. Then we walked to the casino and had lunch with my sister and then went to see the Christmas light show that they have in the casin lobby. We then walked along Southbank, then went up to the Mall and saw all the Santa stuff in the city again. Then we caught the train back home. We're all exhausted (Eloise is already in bed!), but it really was a fantastic day.
Jackie - Enjoy your time with your family.
Sarah - :laughing:The poo story sounds hilarious. Glad Tallan's birthday went well. How are you feeling now? It sounds like you are a little better if you are doing the gardening.
Kimba - How did Jet end up going last night? I'm off to check out Jet's latest photos after getting Lara to bed.
Take care girls...
:flowerz: Congratulations to Lucy and family on the arrival of baby Aleisha!! :flowerz:
Sare: Wow, what a busy day you've had!! DH and I saw the casino Christmas light show a few years ago when on our honeymoon....very impressive! Was it good this year too? I'm feeling ok most days now, morning sickness seems to have disappeared - thank god!! I'm still getting very tired though, and feeling very hungry at times too. I've got to slow down....I think I've put on too much weight already :o
Hi All. Yes I am permanently MIA these days.
Huge CONGRATULATIONS to Lucy:baby:
Well done to Bec. :flowerz:
I have read all of your posts but between house hunting, packing this place, chasing my beautiful little man around, lugging this humungous belly I seem to have developed (26 weeks nearly and both boys measuring the same size as 26 week single baby- I guess that means I am 52 weeks preg now!!!) I am buggered.
The kids are all trying to help but their mother is a frustrated emotional mess. :crying: I am so independant and get very p*****d off that I can't do half of what I would normally be doing. Then I feel guilty if I do too muh as I stress about the twins. Lucky my beautiful baby boy seems to understand and likes to walk up to mummy and snuggle 1000 times a day.
I haven't forgotten the wedding photos. I just have very very bad varicoise veins (right where you don't want them). It makes sitting very painful so I don't use the comp too much if I can help it.
I'm not sure if I will get on before Christmas so
Have a very Merry Christmas one and all.
Big kisses to all mummies and bubbies. Be safe xxxx
Lara is still awake! She is doing my head in!!! I've been trying to get her to sleep for the last 2.5hrs and now I just give up. When will she learn to put herself to sleep? :hair:
Di - lol at being 52 weeks pg, although I can't imagine that you would find it funny. Ouchie on the varicose veins.
Sarah - Glad you are feeling better. Have fun gardening tomorrow.
My tv has gone funny, its about to die. Abbey is watching sesame street with pink and green edges, which seem to be crowding towards the centre the longer its on. Oh, its had a good life, its just unfortunate it didnt last forever.
Abbey has a new word - 'come?!'. Mummy was putting on her shoes to check the mail and she came bolting over and asked to come with me. She also has a new sentence - 'there it is', except it comes out 'there-a-dizz'
Does anyone else's bub go absolutely bonkers in the supermarket when they see their favourite food? Abbey sees bananas from a distance and starts wiggling up and down, pointing and yelling "Teh!". Why 'teh' and not narna, I have no idea. Maybe because she normally has them for breakfasT. Once I put them in the pram or trolley she spends the rest of the trip trying to get them. As soon as we get home she dives on the bags, pulls a narna out and starts biting into the skin until mummy helps her.
She's been getting up at 5am for days now, and I dont appreciate it. I tried booting her out of bed to play but she thinks because she can climb on the couch she should be able to climb on to the bed, but cant, so gets mad. Then fills her pants so I have to get up and attend to her. I think she does it on purpose.
Thats so lovely that Lucy had a girl, and such a pretty name too. Where can we see pics?
Di - love the euphemism! I cannot imagine being double the size I was, so you must be very uncomfortable. Do you know if they are identical yet?
Sare - yesterday I did diddly squat. You should try it sometime. You must seriously get exhausted and over all the happy cheerful exuberance? Still, it does sound nice...
Sarah - I bet he looked lovely! Least he wasnt eating it!
Kimba - I look at the pics, but flickr wont let me post comments, its very rude. I saw the dancing Jet on facebook too, so cute! Its strange how babies all know about dancing and do it the same way. Abbey sees me dance all the time, but it seems to have scared her away from trying it herself.
Michelle, believe me I am looking forward to doing diddly squat over the next few weeks now that everything is stopping for the holidays. In fact I'm doing it now . I find if I keep Eloise entertained she causes me less grief and that is a huge plus for getting out of the house.
Yep Michelle, it's such a pain going fruit and veg shopping with Olivia. She loves all fruit and veg, so gets really annoyed when I won't give her any! She smacks her lips together like she always does when she wants foods, and makes cave baby sounds as you say. I have to have an endless supply of water crackers or sultanas to keep her occupied!
Well, since I found this thread again I have read the whole thing, but never get around to posting... I think I feel like you'll all think I am a gatecrasher or something :) Figured I would just bite the bullet and post anyway!
Congrats to Lynn and family :)
Kimba, Jet is just gorgeous! I can't believe he has so much hair! Olivia is still pretty bald, lol.
Di, sending you pregnancy commiserations - can't imagine what it'd be like with 2 in there! I am around 27 weeks now, but heaps bigger than I was with Olivia already. Pregnancy is pretty kind to me though, so I can't complain!
Is anyone else really slack in the photo department? It's just not easy taking nice ones anymore now that she can run away from me  I haven't been taking many at all... here is my flickr page if anyone wants a look http://www.flickr.com/photos/62116633@N00/
Better go, she's calling out from the highchair demanding more food!
My tv is broken! Dead. Kaput. I wonder if the fridge will babysit?
My tv is broken! Dead. Kaput. I wonder if the fridge will babysit?
That sucks big time. I hope it's fixable (and quickly). If not, I hope Santa brings you one.
We're off for a walk around the neighbourhood to check out all the christmas lights. Night all...
Today I wore new pants that are 2 sizes smaller than the ones I was wearing a month ago, got the payrise I wanted :cloud9:, and won a $50 bet I'd totally forgotten about I.E. not being pregnant by the end of the year - thanks Georgia!
More money and a smaller bum, now that's a seriously good day!
Photos of Lucy's baby were sent to me and Sare via email by her husband, I'm not sure if they've uploaded them to facebook yet...but I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I forwarded photos to any of you guys, so if you'd like a look-see, PM me your email addy...
Michelle - Abbey is so clever with her talking! And that sucks about your TV. The way Jet fiddles with ours, I wouldn't be surprised if it follows the same fate soon. Yes Jet goes a bit nuts in the supermarket, especially in the fruit and veg section and of course he doesn't want anything I bring with me  So recently, a carrot to gnaw on has been good at keeping him quiet till I finish...sometimes I have to bribe him with other things to play with though. Which is why we almost always come home with a new book! not that this is such a bad thing I guess...
Pam - hello stranger! Glad to hear that all is going well with your pregnancy, can you believe that in 13 weeks your baby should be here? How fast has that gone...you must be due around the time we go to Indonesia (mid march). Olivia may be bald but she's got a killer smile! I love the recent photos...and yes I got really slack in the photo department for the last couple of months, too hard to get decent photos of a manically mobile bub and too busy running after him! But I've been making a renewed effort to take more photos lately, so that I don't regret it later.
Sare - I hope you had a nice relaxing day today after the drama with Lara last night. Are all the bubs going a bit backwards with sleeping/ settling at the moment? Jet has been shocking the last few nights, screaming awake 3 or more times a night. The only thing I can blame it on is teeth, his eye teeth are still coming through and so are his molars.
Di - you poor thing! I was talking to Georgia today about how we just cannot imagine even being pregnant right now and looking after our toddlers, let alone pregnant with twins, and with such a big household!!! you really are a superwoman.
Sarah - had a good laugh at your poo story. Jet has apparently done that a few times at daycare when his carer has put him down for a nap in just his nappy, and his nappy has 'come undone' (IE he's undone it), and gotten poo everywhere. He takes his cloth nappy off now if he doesn't have pants over the top, it's pretty funny to watch him as he then tries to put it back on! I got a video of it the other day but it might be a bit rude for facebook .
Hope all the babies sleep well tonight!:fingerscrossed:
:yelclap::yelclap:Kimba...definitely sounds like a great day. Well done on the weight loss.
Yep, Lara's sleep has reverted. I think it's her molars though. There are some serious bumps under those gums. I can't believe how different she is from Eloise in all aspects. Sleep, she was, and still is, a dream; teething, the only ones I knew were coming were her eye teeth and eating, she has a great/diverse appetite. She never threw tantrums at this age either. But boy is she making me pay for those easy few years now. Don't get me wrong, I adore my little Lara, but she's just plain hartd work :p.
lol about the nappy thing Kimba. We were at carols on Sunday night, and Olivia gracefully undid one side of her nappy, stepped out of it and ran around bare-bummed maniacally giggling while I chased after her with her nappy  Methinks snapped nappies are in order!
Olivia's sleep has reverted too... she wakes a few times in the night just for a cuddle. Gee it's nice to be loved! It's easy though, as she is right next to me, so I don't have to get up or anything. We have the side off her cot and it right up next to our bed, so the mattresses are at the same level. Just an extension of our bed really.
Pam that's what I wanted to do with Jet's cot (beside our bed) but thanks to some builtins, our bedroom isn't wide enough for it to fit!
And yep I'm using snapped nappies whenever I can now, coz if I put the velcro ones on him they're not on for long! He's even managed to undo them through pants a few times. Just ordered a few minkee Itti Bittis so they'll be good for summer. It is pretty darn coot though when they pull their nappies off and run around, they're so delighted with themselves
Sare, thanks :D I hear you on the hard work! Jet is such a handful, but I do love his spirit and individuality, and he constantly makes me laugh. That said, it'd be rather nice to have an easy sleepy quiet baby next time...LOL.

Evening all.
We have had the most torrential rain here today! I actually had to pull over at one stage cause I couldn't see the road ahead! It is wonderful, just a pity we don't have our tanks up at our block yet!
One more day of 'work' (tomorrow is admin day with Nedd home- so not really work!)but I still have heaps of paperwork to do so looks like the laptop will be going away with me.
Re sleep- Nedd is up and down, slept through last night, but terrible nights the 3 before that. He has his second eye tooth and another front top one so close to cutting through so I thinks thats been to blame. Once they are through it will take his toothy peg total to: 12 , how many more are there after that???
Kimba- you sure did have a great day yesterday! Upload some pics of you so we can see the new slim kimba!
Michelle- that so sucks about the TV....looks like you know what you are getting yourself for christas....shame the SS limit wasn't a bit higher!! Oh and re the fridge- Nedd would happily climb inside and spend hours taking things out and putting them back in again- so you never know it might just do the trick!
Pam- lovely to hear from you! All these pregnant mummies, I am so jealous.
Sarah- what a crack up re the nappy/poo incident!! I am just waiting for it here....was it with a magicall by any chance? Nedd is getting cunning at undoing them too.
I got a new tattoo today! It was a belated work bonus celebration/birthday present to myself. It is on my foot-
http://www.symbols.com/encyclopedia/26/2646.html
This is the design and the meaning....I love it! So that's my bit of excitement. Can't wait to get to the inlaws to show it off, the MIL hates tattoos, and nearly disowned DH when she found out I had one years ago, apparently he should have told her that his girlfriend had a tattoo! Blah, get over it woman! But I a looking forward to annoying her with my new one!
OK, am off to finish off some dreaded admin, take care all.

Mornin everyone
Well I know they call this the silly seaon, but this is ridiculous...........
I STILL havent found anywhere to live........I STILL havent found a builder to build our house......and........I have not packed a thing!!!!!!!!!! Maybe I am in denial..I have no excitement about building and no motivation to start packing so we can be out in a few weeks.
Kimba - congrats on the weight loss!!!.. terrific effort, wish I could motivate myself to lose about 30kgs:laughing:
Lucy - CONGRATULATIONS:baby::baby:. So very happy for you and your family!!
Di - I still am trying to get my head around twins and I'm not even the one having them...........Take things easy and get a little spoilt by the rest of the family...
Michelle - :hissy:....poo to your T.V.... I would be a little lost without our T.V. Its great for having a shower in peace!!
Sal - Love the tattoo....My chrissy pressie to myself this year is to get the one on my back added to with Darcy's name and a bit of a touch up as it has faded in the last 9 years! The rain was absolutely devine wasnt it:cloud9:
I have finished my chrissy shopping and they are all wrapped and under the imaginary tree... I had to buy my own pressie as per usual, poor DH has worked 17 hour days for the last 2 weeks poor thing. At least i get what I need and like...hehe..
Well my dad is coming tomorrow for 10 days and he is sooooo excited about seeing Darc. She is a little funny about strangers and seeing as though she seen him 5 months ago...that would classify him as a stranger!!!!
I hope he isnt too offended if she doesnt throw her arms around him..
We have a few new words as well.....Bebe(baby) pssss(pussycat)....yes......
Anyone else's baby still not walking. i thought by chrissy for sure but she really takes only about 6/7 steps then PLONK!!!
Well i best be off... have a great day allxxx
Ooh, I LOVE the tatoo Sal! Noice! Did it hurt much?
Mary-Anne, I don't blame you for putting off the packing... I hate moving (but do it alot). Have you got a plan of attack? I find it easier if I just start on one room at a time... but first make a list of things you need to leave unpacked, or it's not nice looking through boxes to find things!
Hi guys,
The interstate bus that I go past every day was being driven by a Santa this morning  boy I wished there were some kids with me to get a kick out of it.
Sal I LOVE that tattoo! I also have one and enjoy shocking people with it ("Oh my God, I didn't think YOU'd have a tattoo!) Of course only people who haven't known me long are shocked. They think my serious, plain demeanour is the real me
Maryann, that sounds like a lot to deal with at any time of year. :babydust2: magic helping vibes so it will all sort itself out! (I know helpful aren't I)
Pam I ROFL at that image of you chasing a bare bummed Olivia around with a nappy! How festive.
Kimba :yelclap: on the good day! Wow! Dropping a size is awesome. Although given how completely food obsessed I am so far this PG (my stomach appears to have changed into a yawning black hole) I suspect I might not come out of this one quite so much thinner as I did last time!
You know what? Its exhausting being a single parent with a single child and no tv or pets! Abbey wants to be entertained all day and night and not even give me the 30 minutes she used to spend watching sesame street. The most annoying part (besides the whinging and yanking at me) is that she doesnt necessarily want to play with me, she just wants me on standby in the same room, awaiting her pleasure. Rotten monkey just wants to play around me while I gaze lovingly. Its not just because there's no tv as its always off from 10am-6pm anyway, she just wants to dictate my behaviour. Tough luck Little Princess!
I re-introduced an afternoon nap, against her will, just to get some sanity back.
Sal - that a pretty tatt. I bet it must hurt on the foot, not fatty enough. Where is the other one?
Mary-anne - 6-7 steps counts as walking! She probably plonks when she stops concentrating, but any day now she will decide this walking business is for her. Then she will work on speed and stepping over things and then you'll have a problem. It will be nekkid chasey time!
Pam - I tried the sidecar cot but Abbey always squiggled over to sleep on my head anyway. That girl just cant get close enough. My womb was so comfy, she wants to go home.
Abbey has discovered her tum tum. She knows where hers is and where mine is. Im yet to test her on someone else. She lifts up her shirt and plucks at her fat. Doesnt say tumtum yet though. She also knows where my toes are, but not hers. I dont blame her. HER toes are stinky, I avoid them too.
Speaking of stinky toes. Her shoes smell nasty. She doesnt wear socks with her dunlops, is she supposed to? All her socks are big with grippy patterns on the bottom.
I'm on holiday! what a relief. Only for 2 weeks though and I bet it goes like lightning. I have plans for all the things I want to do, but I bet I don't get any of it done, not with Cyclone Jet to keep entertained...ah well.
re: Stinky Feet: Jet doesn't wear socks with his Volleys but I do chuck them in the wash occasionally because they get very whiffy! His Tip Toey Joeys are much better, even though they were preloved (sshhh don't tell him that), and his sandals don't stink at all. His favourite shoes right now are a pair of Big Softies sneakers (KMart) with red laces, he brings them to me to put on, but then won't sit still while I lace them up, so too bad, so sad, I just put something easier on him. Mean Mummy!
Michelle - I don't know how you do it. It's exhausting enough looking after Jet with TV and a pet and a Daddy. Not that the Daddy does anything much, in fact it's like having 2 kids. Oops did I say that out loud? I totally hear you on being required to just be there and gaze on adoringly while they play around us, and act interested and enthusiastic when they show us random things, oh and help put things together/ pull them apart/ get them down on request...plus be a mind reader when it comes to what they feel like eating today!
Bec - At least you're hungry rather than spewy, I know which I'd rather...I saw a Santa driving a bus the other day, how cool is it! I love this time of year. I'm not shocked that you have a tattoo, and I don't think you're serious or plain at all!
Pam - you haven't moved again have you??? I thought you guys bought a house.
MaryAnne - :hugs: I hope everything works out for you soon! Darcy is very clever saying all those words. And 6/7 steps is walking in my book - the plonking will stop soon enough! My tattoo is 9 years old and due for a touchup as well...
Sal - LOL at your MIL and you revving her up with your new tatt :) I love that symbol for a tattoo, ironic because I was recently looking at one very similar actually! I want to get another one to celebrate being a Mum and having Jet and all that, I've been looking around since I was pregnant and still can't decide. I found an Egyptian goddess of motherhood/ protector of children but she's got the head and body of a pregnant hippo, droopy human boobs, lions paws, and a crocodile's back and tail - quite hideous really, and not the most attractive thing to have tattooed on yourself! Imagine people saying 'um, is that a self-portrait'?

Gah...i've escaped to the computer cause DH has just come home drunk....its tradies last day today, and they basically spend it getting sloshed.
Am I the only one who has no patience for drunken people when you are sober? He has just walked in with this hideous fairy snow cone thingy he picked up from the reject shop on his way home to give to me cause there weren't any florists open....appreciate the thought (I think he's hoping to get lucky tonight:p) but very tacky, will be going in the bin first chance I get!
We have had a day of firsts here today...its been lovely!
Nedd has learnt to blow his nose, very cute (and not just a pretend blow either- he actually blows so snot comes out into the tissue!).
He has started climbing up on the couch (and it is now his fave jumping spot- yikes).
Sat at his little table to eat his lunch instead of his highchair (see he isn't going to daycare for two weeks so now I can make the decision if he is ready for myself!!!!) and actually sat there for the whole meal like such a good boy!
He fed himself his yoghurt with his own spoon, no help from me.
And he spent ages giving himself kisses in the mirror- it was like he had suddenly realised the person he see's in the mirror is actually someone he can interact with....what do you think they make of this person in the reflection- do you think they realise it is them?
So all in all very eventful! And his generosity with kisses all round has returned. I got smothered with them today.
It was a lovely day! We had dancing and drawing on the chalkbaord, played trains, went for a walk, yadda yadda yadda- you get me, nice mummy son day! :goodvibes:
Maryanne- you are being to hard on your child woman!!!! Darcy is definitely walking, and as michelle said, one day she will just decide it is what she prefers and off she will go!
Kimba- bliss isn't it...but you are right, throw christmas and new year into the middle of it all and the two weeks will be over in the blink of an eye....but then we can count down till thailand, when do you go? We fly out on the 30th march. We are away for two weeks, but I have so many holidays up my sleeve I am taking three weeks off...will be lovely!
Michelle- commiserations again on the TV situation, atleast you don't have a partner to amuse aswell....if our TV broke I honestly think DH would have a nervous breakdown- and I am not joking, he loves that thing more than life itself!
Re the tatt- didn't hurt toooo bad, just a bit stingy, but it was done in about 20mins so barely felt it. And my other one is on my back middle of shoulder blades- a butterfly.
Sounds like most of us mummies already have one? They are so the norm in this day and age!
Actually funny story- we were discussing tatt's on the wkend with all my family and DH's sister who is just getting into them and thinks she is the coolest of cool cause she has just recently got two. So we got talking bout what my choice means and how it has a significant meaning blah blah, and the two she has are chinese symbols meaning something or other....so she pipes up how she hates it when chicks just get random tatts like "butterflys or dolphins".....priceless moment as I have a butterfly and my brothers wife has a dolphin.....when we pointed this out to her the ground couldn't have swallowed her quick enough! She can be so self righteous sometimes it was nice to make her squirm for a bit- and we sure did that! ;)
OK I've rambled way too long :ecomcity: Have a good night all!
Hi All
Hope you are all well and ready for a great Christmas!!
Sal - I love your tatt. I actually don't have one because I am too fussy!! Have always been going to get one but wanted one I really liked and had a good meaning and never decided on one!!
Mary-Anne - I also count 6-7 steps as walking. Better than Kayley who still wont let go!!! SHe will walk for ages holding you little finger (and I make her hold it up so I am not holding her) but as soon as you can pry it away she sits down (unless she is close enough to take a few steps to another object). Oh well - in her own time I guess but it sounds like I could be the last one!!
Her vocabulary is increasing though. New words have been duck and up (whenever she wants to get up - which is often). SHe is very cute and finds the mouseys in her "Thats not my" books and then squeeks!! She also makes sounds to sheep (baa); elephant; bee; duck; frog and a couple of others. It is soo cute!!
Oh and she went to sleep on the ground yesterday!! I was cooking in the kitchen and walked out and she was at the entry flat out asleep on the tiles!! I moved her to her fold out matress and we ended up having to wake her at 7pm!! SHe has never done that.
Sal - Kayley blows her nose but not enough for anything to come out. SHe can get on one couch but not the high one and feeding herself is not too good - she can't help playing with it instead of eating it and it ends up everywhere (finger food is fine though).
Kimba - yay on the holidays! I only have the public hols off but as I only do 3 days that means only 1 day next week and 2 the following so can't complain. I can't take time off as we have audit coming in a month and I better make the office ship shape!
Michelle - No TV - Noooooooo. Kayley is watching baby einstein now. I don't think I could survive! Are you getting it fixed ? Apparently when DH was a kid their TV broke and they didn't get it fixed for years in favour of 'fmaily time' DH still whinges now!!
Bec - lol on the Santa!! I had a never filling stomach when I was pregnant too - which is probably why I still have a little pot now (along with the fact I never find any time for exercise these days - how do you girls do it)?
Mary-Anne - hope you find somewhere to live soon. We are not getting anywhere with our builder still waiting on the final contracts - grrrrrr. We paid the deposit a month ago now. Hopefully they are quicker with actually building the house!
Lucy - congrats on your new arrival!! Can't believe it is that time already!
Sare - Kayley is hard work too. I hope if I do have another child they are one of those easier ones!! But I love her to death and wouldn't change her spirit and individuality. I just hope she uses it for good rather than bad in the future and I think she could turn out to do great things (assuming she ever walks!!) Oh and tantrums - she is the queen of tantrums - I really thought that didn't start until much later.
Talking about Kayley - she is trying to push the chair away from the computer now whinging up and mum mum and now attackign the keyboard so before I lose my post I better go!!
I am engaged!!!!!!!!!!:smiliedance: bout time :D
Also the little village where I used to live (and lots of my family still are) was under over a meter of water last night - it's the worst flood in living memory - this is a place in central NSW where there's no creek within 20km, it's really flat. So you can imagine how heavy the rain must have been!
It's been a big 24hrs.
Sal I hope you're OK, and all you Melbourne girls, I saw a twister at Ballarat on the news!!
Bec you cant just say "I am engaged" without telling us details! How, when, where, ring...?

:iagree:....more details please Bec!!!
But CONGRATULATIONS! :smiliedance: And guess what, if it happened today you got engaged on the same day as me two years ago.....
All fine here, thanks for thinking of us! But jeepers, you're home town sounds like a bit of a mess...poor people, I would hate to be flooded.
It is still pouring here- lots of flooding on the roads but no major damage that I know of, good day to have the fire going and stay inside, I have just sent DH to the supermarket for me!
:iagree: too Bec.
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to you both. What a huge week you've had!

CONGRATULATIONS BEC!!! ( More details please)
We have a walker!!!!!!!!!!! ( I think )
We have moved from 6/7 steps to now bout 10/15 and can change directions. This has all happened in the last 24 hours....UNBELIEVABLE..So I am now counting this as walking. Darcy is also showing signs that she rather walk instead of crawl even though its faster for her. So :smiliedance: Darcy!!!
DP is in meltdown moment as we speak. he is totally pedantic about his garden and the huge for sale sign has been blown over in the wind and ruined his baby trees. I can hear him swearing from inside the house.
Also our neighbour has hacked at our lovely passionfruit vine coz it was creeping over her side of the fence. So he is totally pi$$ed right now!!!!!............:mad:
Better go and feed my sweetheart and try to calm the psycho down.....:hissy:
hey all
we are home from the hospital after 7 long days and doing well we are almopst walking now so its a much diffrent child to 2 weeks ago
her op was a sucess and they are happy with the results and we go back on the 21st of jan to have the stints taken out but othe than that montanah is all good she is so happy and as she grows the sca will not even be seen even in swim wear have been meaning to get on here for a couple of days now
thank you to secrect santa and merry xmas to all
Mary-Anne - that is so cool! I bet when she turned she gave a look that said she was just too cool for school.
Sal & Bec - its really weird to see you write that its cold and flooding and that you want the fire on. Its like we are in a whole different country! 32degrees, humid, strong sunshine..but we are getting rain tonight, but tomorrow will still be hot!
Beck - Im the same with tatts. I have one, a remnant from the days when I was 16 and thought it was a good idea to let the neighbour have a go with his home made tatt gun and some pen ink. I was such a loser! But i want a real one and cant commit to one, there are too many choices! Maybe I will choose one when i'm 70 and be a tragically cool granny, showing it off to abbey's kids while they roll their eyes.
kayley must have been exhausted to nap on the tiles like that, or they were really comfy. Abbey fell asleep slumped over her zebra ride on, but that was a once off.
Kimba - gotta wonder, who is the shoe fetishist in your house. Is it Jet, or is it mummy? So many pairs!
Dont the volleys come apart after theyve been washed?
I caught my angelic little monkey jumping on the bed earlier. Jumping happily, watching herself in the mirrors, grinning like a mad baby. I had only left the room for a minute!
She's also decided that while we're outside, and mum isnt looking is the best time to climb down the steps and run away into the side yard. Its all fenced still so i dont mind so much, its just interesting she plots her escape and watches for opportunities.
Mum has had 10 kids, and all she can say is that I've got a wild one on my hands. None of her babies were ever so headstrong and independent...sure sure... and giving birth doesnt hurt! That's just a mother's memory editing out all the bad stuff!
My food covered wild one is asking for the shower and telling me to hurry up.
Oh and CONGRATULATIONS BEC of course!
:yelclap: Congratulations on the engagement Bec! How exciting for you, on top of your impending arrival. What a big year 2008 will be - have you set a date?
Crazy weather isn't it, one minute we're dying for rain and next minute it's flooding...it's really hot and so humid here in Sydney but not really raining much today, just a bit of drizzle. I wish it would just storm and get it over with!
Did someone say tantrums? Check these photos out (here (http://flickr.com/photos/kimbaleo/2128593834/), here (http://flickr.com/photos/kimbaleo/2127816229/), here (http://flickr.com/photos/kimbaleo/2127815929/), here (http://flickr.com/photos/kimbaleo/2128592236/), and saving the best till last, here (http://flickr.com/photos/kimbaleo/2128591950/)!) if you want a laugh at Jet's expense. This was a little wobbly my precious angel threw the other day because - wait for it - I brought him inside from playing on the balcony. I'm so saving these for when he's 21!
Re: shoes. I guess it's me who's the shoe fetishist  but only because I was in such desperate search of shoes Jet would actually leave on, that seemed comfortable for his fat feet, as well as offering protection from god knows what he could step on at the park (shudder), so we've ended up with a few pairs. He mostly wears the Volleys indoors to daycare or shopping, and his others for rougher ground outside. He definitely has his own favourites though and will bring pairs to me to put on - he knows that shoes means going 'bye bye', I.E. somewhere out there that's more exciting than home!
Michelle - shame you live so far away, I bet Abbey and Jet would get along like a house on fire, she sounds so much like him! OK except she's smarter and talks a lot more, but then again she IS female
Lesley - I'm so glad to hear that all went well with Montanah's surgery and hospital stay, and that you're all home for Christmas. Hope she recovers really fast and that from here you never look back! Oh and congrats on Montanah's walking
MaryAnne - Congrats on Darcy's walking! Isn't it unbelieveable how one day they're barely doing it and the next day they're just off. She's doing really well with her talking too!
Sal - sounds like you and Nedd had a lovely day, and congrats on all his firsts - sounds like it was a big day for him developmentally as well! Regarding the mirror, Jet laughs and plays with 'himself' in the mirror, and will kiss and point out his reflection's nose/ eyes/ etc, and even roars at and shows off to his reflection, like when he's jumping on our bed (which is sooo funny). I don't think he's twigged that it's himself though, if anything I'm sure he thinks it's just a weird kid who sometimes stalks him through 'windows' and copies his movements, that he can't actually touch!
Beck - that's so cute of Kayley to crash out like that! I DREAM of the day that Jet will just fall asleep somewhere. Sometimes I've seen him so tired that his eyes are rolling, but he'll just shake himself awake and keep playing. Her vocab is great! and that's just so adorable how she squeaks when she sees the mouse.
I'm starting to feel like Jet seems to be a bit behind with his talking/ animal noises etc, especially compared to all your bubbas...I guess sometimes I just can't help wondering if his GP was right when she'd said she was concerned about his speech development at 12 months? He does have a few words that are more or less 'correct', but his proper vocab hasn't really increased much for ages. Instead, he's developing his own specific babble 'words' for things (that don't sound anything like a proper word) and uses them instead. I usually know what he wants when he 'asks' for something - his latest one is saying 'wawa, wawa' when he wants something...no idea why!!! (maybe he's saying 'want'???). And he'll mimic me saying a bunch of different/ new words and making sounds, so I know he's capable, but then he just doesn't use them on his own, it's like they don't 'stick' or make it into his permanent vocab, IYKWIM? I guess it's a bit confusing for him that DH and I speak to him in Indonesian as well as English, and then he gets Portuguese as well at daycare! LOL.
Anyway, it's not like I'm really worried about it yet, just wondering a bit...
All right, I'd better get back to wrapping presents :D and then I'm hoping for an early night!
Well hello girls and thank you so much for all your congratulations on the arrival of Aleisha.
CONGRATULATIONS to Bec on your engagement. You sound so happy! What a lovely Christmas present.
Well Aleisha Ruth Olivia Hood arrived at 0752 hours on 17 December - exactly the same time as Jordan. The whole thing was totally different than Jordan and if Jordan's arrival had been like Aleisha's I would have been so much better off in those first weeks. The first thing I remember when she came out was the scream - it was wonderful to hear. Not sure if you remember that Jordan had issues with breathing so was quiet when he came out. Those cries put tears to my eyes. They showed me Aleisha before they took her away to have her cord cut. Once the cord was cut they gave her to me for a wonderful cuddle - even though I was zonked out with the drugs!
The midwives in the hospital were fantastic. As it was my second they said to me to tell them what I wanted to do and that was it. No pressure to breast feed or anything - just what I wanted. I did try to breast feed again, but failed yet again. I had a lactation consultant see me and I explained my birth experiences with Jordan and she was fantastic. The only problem was is that once Aleisha started the screaming as she was hungry and not getting enough from me, all the memories from Jordan came back to me. It was then that I decided I was not going to put myself through that again and told the midwives I was going to bottle feed.
I spoke to the lactation consultant about it and she was so supportive of my decision and told me that she could tell how upset I was about Jordans birth and she said I made the right decision. Could not believe it!!!
Today my milk finally came in, so I am glad I did not perservere as I would not have been able to handle the screaming until now!
We are home now and starting to try to get into a routine. Aleisha sleeps for about 6 hours between feeds, so can't complain about that. She does take a little to settle after a feed but now we are home and have no nurses interupting us we can work on that. She is already Daddy's little girl and Jordan has taken to her no problems. The only issue we have is when she has the bottle and Jordan doesn't understand that it is not his! The worry on his face when he sees the bottle is priceless!
I have uploaded some photos on the link below for you all. I sent the e-mail to Kimba and Sare as I had their e-mails. Sorry that it came through more than once - my hubby is not that great on the computer!
Well it is now midnight so I had better log off and get some sleep before Aleisha wakes about 5am.
Love to all and if I don't get on before hand:
HAVE A SAFE AND MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILES AND I HOPE SANTA BRINGS YOU LOTS OF PRESSIES
Kev, Lucy, Savanna, Jordan and Aleisha
xxxxx
:xmas: :noel:
Lucy - Aleisha looks like such a chubber! I love those long, delicate fingers, so cute. Great to hear it was a better experience, and that you were able to choose your own path re feeding with total support.
I think Abbey knows the mirror baby is her, it might just be another her. She has trouble kissing mirror mummy though, other Abbey keeps getting in the way and stealing the kiss.
Kimba - I think Jet sounds fine with his speech. Not all of Abbey's words make it into her permanent vocab, and she pipes up the most amazing flukes. Like she's thinking it and it accidentally comes out.
She wont mimic me, so she misses lots of words there, she doesnt know animal sounds beyond the woof woof she used to say but hasnt in ages as its much more fun to make mummy make them.
Jet is probably absorbing all these words you are teaching him, and will use them when he's ready. I dont know why they make up their own words for things, Abbey does it too, but I think if he's capable of saying real words, and is willing to converse, albeit in babble, it will be fine. Just remember, actual words lead to back talk! Maybe his language is all 3 languages combined, which makes sense, and he hasnt learned they dont go together yet.

Kimba- this is exactly how Nedd is at the moment.....my SIL (who has 3 herself) says he is definitely 'talking' its just a matter of deciphering his language! He will give me once off- yesterday he said narna, and car clear as day and in the right context, but I rarely hear things more than once or twice if I am lucky! I am thinking bout ringing the MCHN in the new year just to see what she thinks.
I think Abbey knows the mirror baby is her, it might just be another her. She has trouble kissing mirror mummy though, other Abbey keeps getting in the way and stealing the kiss.
Nedd was doing this too- it was so cute, he'd lean in to kiss mummy in the mirror then do a swerve at the last minute to kiss himself cause he got in the way! :p
Busy packing here, we head off to the inlaws tomorrow....hmmm, trying very hard to psych myself up for it, but I know it basically means I lose my child for a week, MIL has already suggested that perhaps Nedd should sleep in their room over the christmas period as it is furtherest away from the living areas and they have lots of people over so it is noisy, which translates in other words to "I have been racking my brains to come up with a reason i can have my grandson COMPLETELY to myself for the week".
She also has this obsession with discipline...Nedd has started whacking us and saying don't, to which we politely remove his hand, say No Nedd, and move his attention to something else- she has already questioned why we don't hit him back  , and whenever she meets others with kids the minute they do something wrong she asks the parents if they smack and if not why not.....I am so worried about the day she has Nedd to herself and he misbehaves, if she even dares touch my son she will get slapped upside the head right back!
Anyway, hopefully it will be an ok week, atleast i get a rest and don't have to worry bout housework etc, but it is exhausting trying to keep on top of my game with MIL scrutinising every move I make (I think I told you bout the last time I was there and Nedd wouldn't settle and she stood outside the door watching me the whole time).
So anyway, I am about to pack up computer....
So have a lovely christmas all, take care, drive safely, give those beautiful bubbies lots of cuddles and kisses.
Hope you all get spoilt and santa makes a visit, drink, eat, and be merry!
And a big special thankyou to all of you for providing me with a wonderful support network, I honestly would be lost without my bubhub oct group! :hugs: Awww group hug, Love youse all!!!! :D
Oh Bliss...DH has taken Jet out for a couple of hours so I have the place to myself :yelclap: Of course there are a million things I need to be doing to prepare for our trip away instead of logging on here, but my excuse is that I'm downloading some albums onto my iPod for the drive down the coast, hehe, including kids music to keep Jet amused, and the latest Maroon5 CD which is my Christmas present to DH.
So while I'm doing that...
Sal - Enjoy your trip and your stay with the outlaws, I hope your MIL isn't too stressful. my mum is a bit of a smacker too, god help me if she ever feels the need to smack Jet, I'm not really sure how I'd react! Yep Jet is definitely talking in his own language, just like Nedd. I can usually understand what he wants, but only because I'm used to it...I figure all we can do is keep talking to them using the proper words (rather than their own words) so at least they're taking it in, and encouraging them when they do say the 'right' thing.
Michelle - thanks for the reassurance, had to LOL at Abbey 'accidentally' coming out with fluke words, Jet does that too. It sounds so freaky, it's like he's been possessed. And then he never says it again. You're right about mingling the languages, he says 'Bapa' for food - more specifically, weetbix! or any other food in a bowl - because that's what his carer calls it, she says it's Portuguese for food (or baby food). Jet gets a bit funny and won't kiss the mummy in the mirror, he goes all shy and ducks his head under my chin, I think it freaks him out when he sees Mummy holding his stalker-baby!
Lynn - great to hear from you, not sure if you got my email that I sent because I got a bounceback for some reason? strange...anyway Aleisha is gorgeous and it sounds like the second time was a charm for you. Even your hospital visit sounds lovely, it's great that the middies and LC totally respected your experience, wishes and judgement, I guess that's the benefit of doing it for the second time. Poor Jordan being confused by the bottle, it must be hard for them to adjust, but it sounds like he's handling it pretty well - I'm not sure that Jet would!
It makes me a bit sad but we've decided to wait for #2 until Jet's a bit older...financially we just couldn't cope right now with me taking mat. leave again, and also I just couldn't handle a little one on top of Jet being such a handful! If we can wait until 2010 then I'll have long service leave which would ease the financial strain...not sure I want to wait THAT long though, I'd be almost 38!
Anyway - :xmas: :xmastree:I want to wish all my BubHub mates and their families a Safe and Wonderful Christmas with their loved ones, and a totally fabulous and prosperous New Year. Thank you so much for all your support and friendship, it's so great to be able to come on here and have a sounding board and your support, it's gotten me through some really tough moments. And I love hearing all about your bubbas and seeing them grow up.
Talk to you in a few days!
Oh, she is just gorgeous Lynn! :) Cluck, cluck, cluck! Wow, 6 hours between feeds  Sounds like bliss for the time being!
Olivia pays no attention to the baby in the mirror, she just shyly grins at me, or plays peekaboo.
Merry Christmas All.. Hope it is a lovely time of reflecting on Christ's birth and enjoying family :) :hugs:
Hi everyone,
OK details!
DP had been out the night before and had gotten home in the wee hours (miraculously not waking me up!) Anyway he was up early cos he was working on Sat. I could hear him packing his lunch then I could smell the grill and hear him washing up... I thought "weird" as it was 5.30am. Ella slept til 6 and we both got up, and DP had cooked a big brekkie, so we all sat down. Ella scoffed hers in then was running around on the floor, and DP says "you know, I can't think of a better time than while we're sitting down having breakfast together, with our beautiful daughter running around and another beatiful one on the way, to ask you to marry me" !!!!!!!!
It was quite lovely, but of course Ella celebrated by doing a poo....
No ring yet because (this bit is funny) he bought one a couple of years ago (which I suspected) but hid it carefully at his parent's place when he'd had a few drinks... and now can't remember exactly where it is! So, as it's a $1500 ring (!) he'll look for it while we're there over Christmas, then if he can't find it we'll just buy one next week (much cheaper). Frankly I don't care in the least - it's still going to be the best piece of jewellery I've ever owned! Hope that's enough detail for everyone (you'll probably regret asking :ecomcity:)
Hi Pam - Merry Christmas, you know how you described it is exactly what it's all about in my family! Ella's going to love Christmas Eve mass, as they have an early one in the park for the kids. She will just run round in her santa hat looking adorable and having a ball!
Kimba - lol at the tanty photos! Coming inside always brings one on here too. We're looking at October 2009 (baby will be over a year old & I will probably be finished feeding by then) but we won't plan the finer details til after Christmas. Toddlers seem a bit random with their vocab.. Ella will be obsessed with a new word one day and then will NEVER say it again! But I notice she imitates us a lot in rythm and tone of speech. It's very cute but not intelligible.
Hey Sal, your MIL sounds like a send-up of a stereotypical nightmare MIL! Hope you get through it ok. Glad you didn't get washed away. DP's parents are actually really pleased as they now won't have to cart stock water all summer!
Michelle, I chuckled my way through your posts. You make Abbey sound like such a character (although I know that's one of those cheesy words that can be really irritating!) You are so right about Mum memory wiping away all the bad. Actually I used to "selectively remember" things before I was a mother... just means now I have an excuse for being a bit of a fantasist:D
Lucy, so great to hear about your positive birth experience! It doesn't matter what kind of birth or feeding type you go for, if you're happy with it that is so terrific!! (makes me optimistic about round 2 as well:)) Wow 6hrs between feeds, that's amazing, I hope she keeps it up for you!
Lesley  great to hear how well Montanah's doing.
Maryann that's great about Darcy walking :smiliedance: girl!
Sare, thanks for the congrats!
Well (after my monster post! you can tell I'm a bit happy) I actually got on here to wish everyone a big Merry Christmas, as I'm off to Mum & Dad's tomorrow. :xmastree:Have a happy & safe holiday, and thanks for being such great mates all year, what a source of comfort, entertainment, reassurance, and so much more you've been (oh, I'm getting teary... hello hormones!)
Bye!
 everyone,
Tis the season to be jolly....
We've just gotten back from taking the boys to see some Christmas lights. There weren't that many on (we went at about 8.30pm), but we have had such a big day at a family christmas bbq, that I didn't want to keep them up any longer than we had too!
Have been absolutely flat out this past week. I guess that happens at Christmas time!!
Well, we have two bits of exciting news this week -
The first bit: I had my 12 week scan on Thursday, and all seems to be going well at this stage! I have to call for the results of the NT screen after Christmas, but all seemed ok from the scan. We got a pic of bub's legs - like we're looking at it from the toilet bowl, iykwim, and, at this stage, there doesn't seem to be anything protruding!! I'm not going to get excited either way as yet, as it is still too early to tell for sure, but it's something to think about anyway!
Our next bit of news is that we definitley have a walker here!! J seems to be walking more than he is crawling now. I'm so proud of how he's come along with it this last week. He seems so confident in what he's doing. The boys get so excited each time they see him walk, as if it's the first time they've seen him do it, lol! It's really sweet to see that they are so proud of him also.
We had a bit of a scare with T on Tuesday. He was very close, only cm, from being struck by a car :( The boys were with my Mum, and decided they'd run off on her, and Mum being a bit too trusting, didn't chase too far behind. M took off across the road by himself, then of course, T wanted too. Mum (and T)was very lucky that she scooped him up when she did as there was a car coming when he decided it was his turn to try and dash across the road. I was able to see what was happening, but couldn't help with the situation, as I was in my car on the other side of the road....As you can imagine, I was mighty angry with M for taking off, then angry with T that he tried to copy, then thankful that they were both ok, then cross with my Mum for letting them get too far ahead, etc, etc. So.....I have bought my Mum an extra speical Christmas present this year. One of those wrist straps that you put onto the child. You know the ones? And there are new rules - 1 child at a time. I feel like a little bit of a *****, but as DH said, you don't get a second chance with life!
Enough about what's been going on here....
Michelle: Bummer about the TV. Pity you didn't live closer to me - I have 2 old TV's, in good working order, sitting in my garage! Love Abbey's mirror antics, too cute!
Bec: WOW! Another congrats to you! You're just doing all this so we notice you more, aren't you, lol!! How exciting for you all! I hope DF can find your ring, and if not, as you said, you can go and pick one out together!
Kimba: I hope you got some of your packing done!! I often find that when DH has the boys out, I have alist of things I want to do, then I end up spending my time on here or facebook, lol! 2010 will be here before you know it! We're just about in 2008, so if you make it Dec 09/Jan 10, maybe it won't seem too far away? Lol about Jett's tantrums! Funny! Re: Talking - J doesn't really say too much either, and I'm not really too concerned just yet. M was a slow talker as he had grommets at 13 months, and T was a fantastic speaker from day dot. I still get comments today at how well he speaks! J says a few little words, like Mum, Dad, Nana, Ta, Fish, Duck, Yay, Vroom. He doesn't give me any animal sounds, etc. I know he is taking everything in, and he is processing so much, but just not saying too much. I have to remind myself that he is only 14 months old, and at the moment is trying to perfect other things - such as walking, etc.
Lucy: Congrats on the arrival of your new little girl! I've had alook at the pics....she is just so cute! She is looking so alert too. If I didn't know better, I would have thought she was a month or two old  How exciting for you all.
Mary-Anne: YAY for Darcy and her walking!!
Lesley: Great to hear Montanah's doing well, and the op has finally been done! It was decent stay in hospital you had? How did you survive that? I had to go in with T for one night, and that was enough for me!
Sal: Good luck with the Monster In Law! I can't stand mine at the best of times, so I take my hat off to you for spending all that time with yours under the same roof!! J has just started climbing onto the couch recently too! It's driving me crazy! T has already pushed him off once or twice , and I'm often finding him hanging over the back of it, or jumping on it, or his latest....running from one end to the other! It's enough to make my heart skip a beat! Boys will be boys, lol.
Off to bed now, for what I wanted it to be, an early night! We have a busy day tomorrow - picking up the chicken, picking up the cakes, putting together M's new bike, assembling the trampoline, then on top of that, I have to clean the house for Tuesday, finish wrapping the pressies..... It makes me shudder just thinking about it all!!
:tree: I want to take this opportunity to send all of my best wishes out to you all this Christmas. Please drive safely on the roads, enjoy your time with family and friends, and especially, your children! Eat, drink and be merry (for those that can, lol) Thanks to you all for your friendship and support this year....our second year together! :shakehands:
Sarah xoxox
I just wanted to wish you all a very happy and safe Christmas :xmastree:. All the nice sentiments have been said already, so I won't repeat them. Thanks for just being the great, supportive, friendly people that you are.
:xmas: :tree: MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES :tree: :xmas:
Oh - I forgot - I noticed my Margaret Fulton cookbook out on Sunday morning and asked DP about it... he blushed and said "well I wanted to make sure I got the egg mix right".
Awwww. Valentine
Considering I have a whole bookshelf dedicated to cookbooks, he did quite well to choose the right one!

:tree: MERRY CHRISTMAS:tree:
Wishing everyone and their families a wonderful christmas and a fantastic new year!!
Yay Christmas!
I've just tidied up, hidden the dirty dishes, and laid out the presents. Now I'm listening to Christmas songs while thinking about which Christmas movie to watch.
I borrowed a leetle 30cm tv from my bro, which Abbey promptly decorated wit blue crayon, but its just the right size for her little head. Mummy's fat head prefers to watch her stuff on the laptop. Without needing binoculors from the couch.
Had a great Christmas Eve, lunch with the family who adopt us each year for one day, got some chockies, Abbey got a book about flushing the toilet (LMAO) & a dress. I also found our local post office was clearing kids books at insane prices - I got a "that's not my pirate" for $3! Great gift for my nephew. I grabbed a bunch of stuff for almost nada, so that helped plump up Abbey's present pile for tomorrow.
Merry Christmas to all and drive safe! :hugs:
Hi All
I hope you all had a great day yesterday. We had a wonderful one with Kayley enjoying all her pressies and a great family xmas outside in wonderful weather.
Not going to ramble on here today but just wanted to send everyone my best wishes and I hope another good relaxing day is held by all today!
Oh and Kayley did not start walking by Xmas!!! Oh well she will get there in her own time I just wish everyone would stop asking if she is walkign yet!!
WOW!! What an absolute flat out couple of days we have had here!!
J is walking everywhere now!! Doesn't crawl now...will much prefer to walk. He looks so so cute, he cracks me up everytime I see him walking, lol!
Christmas Day was so full on!! DH and I were awake before the boys...it was so sweet to listen to their responses when they woke to find that Santa had been. M woke first, had a little look, then came down to our room. When T woke, we could hear him yelling about something - he was cross that M had gotten up without waking him, lol!! Bless him!
neither of them were very impressed with their first present they opened.....a lovely dollop of reindeer poo, lol! they were told that if they weren't behaving themselves that Santa would bring them some reindeer poo, and that he did. T was very much upset, head in the hands and all. I have taken the funniest sequence of photos of him....will be ones to keep for ever, lmao!
The boys were spoilt rotten once again! It's just way too easy to do, isn't it? Then my sister turned up - more pressies. Then my Dad - more pressies. Then my Mum, and OMG! t was like Santa had visited once again, lol!!
We had a lovely day though. I prepared lunch for the first time! I did really well I thought, apart from eating a little later than what I had wanted (we ate at 2pm), but it was delicious! Turkey, chicken, ham and lamb, with lots of roast vegies, followed by cheesecake, choc mud cake, plum pudding, fruit salad, and mince tarts....yes, we were all rolling around the floor afterwards, lol!
Boxing Day was spent with DH's mum and step dad. The children received even more presents, much to their delight. We had a nice relaxed day, BBQ for lunch, left over sweets for dessert, then the boys spent most of the afternoon in the pool. It was very nice.
Today DH took me out for lunch. The boys are in daycare, so it was nice to be spoilt for a couple of hours :p I was also given the rest of my Christmas present! I got an absolutely gorgeous Guess watch, and a 75ml bottle of Estee Lauder's Beautiful perfume. I just love them both! On Christmas Day I was given an egg poacher/omelette maker, and a gardening board. I gave DH an 80GB iPod, as he doesn't get the radio where he works in QLD.
Tomorrow is going to be jam packed again, as we head off to DH's Dad for the day. The boys will have a ball riding their motorbike. M got a new bike for Christmas, and T got given a new scooter, which I'm sure they will want to take with them (he lives on 5 acres). We will all deserve a much needed sleep in come Saturday, lol!
I hope everyone else had a great Christmas, and is recovering ok, lol! While I have a quiet few minutes, I'm going to go and have a lay down

So that was Christmas! all that anticipation and preparation, and it's over so fast, for another year. I always feel kind of deflated afterwards, anyone else?
Our trip down the coast was good, best drive down and back that we've had in ages. Christmas was lovely and Jet got totally spoiled by everyone, but we'll officially have a 'no more toys' policy for a while now because we just don't have any more room! Is it rude to set up a bank account and tell people to just give him the money instead...? LOL.
Only bummer was that Jet got really sick on Christmas Day :( he already had a bit of a cough and hasn't been 100%, but at lunchtime on the big day suddenly got a raging fever/ running nose/ glassy eyes, and his cough got really congested. Boxing Day he was even worse. And I've never seen him so clingy for me! crying if I put him down, not wanting to go to anyone else, he's even slept with me the last 2 nights (which meant no sleep for me, as he stirs/ cries every 40min or so...)
He's marginally better today, still has a fever and a horrible chesty cough, and still sooky/ cranky, and wouldn't nap...but the doc says it should just go away by itself in another few days, and hasn't given him anything except Ventolin syrup for the cough (plus the usual Panadol, Dimetapp) so I guess it's good that it's nothing too serious...
Anyway that kind of put a damper on Christmas for poor Jet! but it was still a good time with family etc. and despite being so unwell, he did seem to enjoy himself...
I am sooooooo tired though...tonight I've dosed Jet up, and really hoping for a better night than the last 2...:fingerscrossed:
Hi Girls,
We had a lovely Christmas, although it all goes a bit too fast. The girls got spoilt rotten. I have no idea where to put all the stuff they got.
Yesterday was our wedding anniversary...9 years. It didn't get off to a good start, I didn't talk to dh all morning as I was still p1ssed off at him from the night before. He didn't organise anything, so it was really a non-event. I should know better than to leave him with the responsibility of organising anything.
Today's my sister's b'day, so we're off to visit her and tomorrow is mum's. I swear it never ends.
Kimba - Sorry to hear that Jet is unwell again. Hope he's back to his normal self soon. Good luck with the 'no toy' policy, we tried that and of course we were well and truly ignored.
Jackie - It looks like Keanu loved his Chrissie pressies. Lara wouldn't open hers. She was more interested in Eloise's presents that she had already opened.
Sarah - Your Christmas period sounds so busy. Your boys must love it. :yelclap:to Jarvis for all of his walking. I have to admit I miss Lara crawling...she seems all grown up now :( I miss my baby girl.
Better go and change Lara, she stinks!
Lovely to hear that most of us had a good Christmas :)
Olivia only got a few toys, although she has had more fun playing with the boxes than the toys, lol. I think I will be leaving them out for a few days as they are entertaining her so much!
Sare, I know what you mean about missing them crawling! I think crawling babies are so adorable... they just seem so much more grown up when they are walking!
Olivia has some new words now, she says 'oos' for shoes and 'outdide' for outside. She is obsessed with going outside to play and explore. From the minute she finishes her breakfast she wants to go out to play! She will bring me her shoes and say oos outdide, gesturing to the door. It's cute, but I don't enjoy spending so much time out there!
Hope you all have a great new years!
I forgot to tell you guys before...I finally have my boobs back :smiliedance: I weaned Lara over Christmas. It was my Christmas present to me :p
Sare - Congratulations on the reclaiming of boob! I still dont own mine. She only gets boob for dawn, morning nap and bedtime now, but the rest of the time she likes to show her love by yanking my shirt down/up for kisses.
I planned to wean at 18 months so she's got a bit of time yet, she better enjoy it, I need them back sometime!
Abbey spent an hour this afternoon running around the yard in laps dragging the watering can. She's an odd monkey. Peekaboo around the bush, with the can. Examine the washing, with the can. Up and down the concrete, with the can. It must have felt pleasant to drag, I dont know.
She is testing her outdoors limits though. She knows she isnt allowed past a certain point, so goes there, and very slowly inches past it. Mummy is yelling stop come back but there dont seem to be any real repercussions so she goes a bit futher every time. Cheeky bugger! I'm going to have to surprise her with something unpleasant next time she does it. Like the hose! She cant go anywhere, its fenced, I just cant see her over there.
She also tests the other sections of the yard. Hmm, Mummy said this bush was prickly, and she was right, but I think I will walk into it more to prove I can. Does Mummy stop her? No, daft baby can walk into prickly bushes if she's silly enough. Its all just to see what I will do.
Kimba - I usually feel deflated after Christmas, but this year I didn't. Maybe because my Christmas with Abbey was so simple, she had a couple presents and we had a nice day together, and because she's my little fun monkey I was able to get into the spirit, which I haven't done since I was a little kid.
I hope Jet is feeling better. Pity he got sick at Christmas, for you and him!
Sarah - Gotta ask, what was the reindeer poo really? I have the Beatiful perfume too, its lovely. I haven't worn it in ever so long though.

Keanu took steps last night on his own...YAY!!!
he would take a few and then stop and clap and say yay!
sooo cute... :smiliedance:
Hi all,
Jet is still sick and doesn't seem to be improving, he still had a fever this morning and his cough is just awful, I think it's a chest infection...I have to keep dosing him with Panadol/ Dimetapp/ Ventolin but it's barely easing the symptoms and in the meantime he's grizzly and tired and clingy and clearly miserable. He's barely eaten anything for the last 5 days and not even drinking much milk (usually he guzzles it down).
If your doctor said on a Thursday 'give it a couple more days and bring him back if he doesn't improve', would you go back on the Saturday or would you wait a bit longer? I'm deliberating whether to go back today or not...our usual doc isn't in until Monday though and I don't like the weekend doctor: he waits in the pub next door playing pokies until they page him to tell him there's a couple of patients waiting!
To top it off Jet's bottom molars have just cut through so that's added to his misery, and it looks like he's given his bug to me because I have a really sore throat, so I'm sure he has a sore throat too, which would explain not wanting to eat. The poor little bugger!
Anyway lucky I'm on holidays so at least I can be with him and give him lots of mummy-time, but this holiday hasn't been as much fun as I was hoping so far...
Jackie - congratulations to Keanu on walking! It's so cute how pleased they are with themselves isn't it. He looked very happy with Christmas, from your photos.
Michelle - Jet is in love with our watering can too, he drags it up and down the balcony and pretends to water the plants. And he's the same with the limit testing! his current fetish is climbing up things that he's not meant to. I hover anxiously but secretly I hope he has enough of a 'fall' to scare himself into not doing it, without actually hurting himself.
Sare - Poo to DH for not doing something special for your anniversary, mine would be the same so I know how it feels...maybe if you drop enough hints he'll surprise you next year for your 10th? And congrats on having your boobs back! Jet seems to have completely forgotten that he ever had a relationship with mine (or maybe my low supply was so frustrating that he just blocks it out!), he much prefers my belly button and blowing raspberries on my tummy.
Pam - I agree about the crawling babies! so adorable. Every now and then Jet will crawl around laughing, like it's a game, and it makes him look like my little baby again, awww. That's cute and clever of Olivia to ask to go outside like that! Jet just brings me his shoes (he calls them 'shh') and yells 'bye bye' while banging on the door
PS :( OK it gets worse...Jet tripped while playing on the balcony this afternoon and smacked his forehead on the edge of a terracotta pot  you should've seen the bump! I iced it right away (try holding a sick and cranky toddler still with an icepack on their head!) but it still came up in a massive bump and bruise. I feel so sorry for him, he's really having a ****e week...he'll be glad to go back to daycare I think...:(

he still has a bit to go before he is fully walking...but finally!!
Hi All
Jack - congrats on the walking. I think that leaves Kayley as the last one!! I can still only get 4 - 5 steps out of her at the most and that is pretty inconsistent!
Kimba - sorry to hear you are all unwell. Was like that here a couple of weeks back and Kayley and I still have a cough. She basically didn't eat for 5 days and had puss on her tonsils - poor mite!
Michelle - Kayley doesn't like outside too much yet. The grass is too prickly and while she isn't walking we don't go out there a lot - she does like it at my sisters where there is a lot of shaded and paved areas though.
Kayley is still coming out with lots of words. Has started with please (peas or dees), down, meiow, ball, balloon (boon) over last few days. And she loves her table and chairs set and her colouring books and crayons too (nothing on the walls yet)!
Well it is very hot here at the moment (hit 40 yesterday and I think again today and tomorrow) and our air conditioner in the family room is terrible - will call the agent tomorrow). I think I have conjunctivitis too (sometimes happens when I get allergies and wear contacts) so off to the doctor today.
Sare - congrats on having your boobs back! Mine have shrunk even further now which is a bit sad but is nice to have some shape with an underwire bra!
Pam - Kayley loves the boxes too!! She has spent a it outside in her new sandpit but it is too hot at the moment to spend much time out there - even in the water.
Well I have to run. If I don't get back on again - I hope everyone has a
:babydust2:HAPPY NEW YEAR!!:babydust2:

Beck - keanu isn't doing it regulraly...he is still learning and building up his confidence...so don't feel as tho you are the last one...Kayley will do it when she is ready....same as keanu...he will get more confident and that will take time!!!!!
it is sooo windy here today...

What a great Christmas present. I had a feeling that you would be next. Hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months.
Who's due next? Pam, Kristin or Di?
While I'm on here, I'll wish you all a Happy New Year just in case I don't get on tomorrow. Hope you all have a fantastic 2008 (it looks like a lot of you are going to be super busy :p)
:smiliedance: Congratulations Georgia!!! :smiliedance:
How exciting!! More Oct pregnant Mummies!!!
Hello everyone!
We had a lovely Christmas, and I now have a sparkly ring on my finger too :D we went ring shopping on Sat in Canberra, and it was really hard to get something that fit me, but I refused to wait until next week for a resize - I have waited long enough and wasn't leaving without one!
We're off to Young today to meet up with DP's dad's side of the family - his poor aunt hasn't even met Ella yet! It's a picnic in the park which is nice in theory but it's forecast to be 47 deg... hope there's lots of trees...
I've been a bit worried cos we've told a few people about the PG and now it seems like everyone knows, plus this time with Ella I was feeling sick all day every day and now I have almost no symptoms... I just feel like we've tempted fate by telling everyone? Silly I know. Would I rather be feeling seasick all day??
Hey Sare - don't you think Di's twins will keep her busy enough  Happy NY to you too! Congratulations on the boob reclamation. I expected to feel sad when I weaned Ella but I definitely enjoyed being able to drink at will, and buying my first gorgeous bra in a long, long time! (not that I got to wear it very long....)
Congratulations Georgia!!!!! :smiliedance: We have fairly close due dates then. How exciting!!!
Hey Beck - Ella used to not be so keen on crawling on the grass, but she likes walking on it. Actually I'm a bit worried about the shoe thing for daycare (sorry, total tangent)- maybe I should get her used to wearing shoes over the next couple of weeks! We also gave crayons for Chrissie, but havent' let her use them yet... how do you set Kayley up?
Kimba, so sorry to hear Jet's crook (and you too!) Doesn't sound like the weekend doc's worth a kick in the butt -maybe he should be spending his "spare" time reading up on current medical developments?? And poor Jet falling like that too. I hope things improve for you guys soon!
Yay Keanu on the walking :yelclap:
Oh I should clarify -the reason I'm a bit worried about the PG being a figment of my imagination is that I STILL haven't been able to get into a doctor for bloods... they only have two left at my medical center not on holidays and I couldn't get in til the 20th (I'll be 10 wks by then!) Going to have to go to the other doc I think - who is a total tool which is why I don't go to him anymore - but surely he'll be good for an order for blood tests?

CONGRATS GEORGIA:smiliedance:
Ok so I now am officially staying off the computer for fear of falling pregnant. I cannot belive how many of october mummies are preggers!!... Its a bit eerie, in a good way of course. But just in case its catching through our monitors, I think I will have to stay off bubhub for a few years!!
I have to run but I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy new year and hope you all have a great night tonight!!
Hey Sare - don't you think Di's twins will keep her busy enough  :
 That's just how my brain works...jump from one thing to another. My brain went went Georgia pg...another Oct mum having a baby...Lynn's just had Aleisha...who's due next? But in typing it just went from Georgia being pg to who's due next. I wouldn't wish any more on Di, she's got a full plate already (plus I'm pretty sure that she said that her dh has had the snip)
It's a stinker her in Melb today. We're off to a BBQ later today... me thinks (and hopes) it will be an indoor one. Then again 42 doesn't sound as bad as the 47 deg heat you're heading for Bec.
Happy New Year to you all again.
TUI! (Typing under the influence LOL)
Just wanna say "I LOVE YOUSE ALL" hahaha - just kidding.
Not that I don't love you all of course but I'm not that drunk. Not yet anyway! Intending on getting there though - Jet is in bed and since DH and I aren't going out to celebrate we intend to get quietly smashed at home. After all I'm not TTC or BFing this year, might as well make the most of it hey?
Georgia :sunshine: huge congrats! (again) - I was so excited the other day when you told me, I was wondering how long it would be before you shared the news on here! Hmm, now, when you bet me $50 that I'd be pg by the end of the year didn't I also say that I'd raise you $50 that you'd be pg before me? I won't hold you to that though - you have enough to worry about now!
Speaking of TTC I have to say I get very clucky when I read about all you pg Oct mums out there!!! but at the moment it looks like we're putting #2 off for quite a while yet, at least till 2009, if not 2010. Which sounds like miles away  but I have long service leave due in early 2010 so it makes sense to wait till then, if we can...
Jet is much better today, no fever and his nose isn't as runny. We didn't bother taking him to the dodgy doc on the weekend, thought we'd wait till today at least and today he was so much better we didn't really need to. But his cough is still really awful, so if that doesn't improve by Wed I'll definitely take him back.
Jet's got 16 baby teeth now! :D His top eye teeth have just cut through and the last of his first lot of molars... So I wonder if that means I might get some full nights' sleep soon? I can only hope...:fingerscrossed:
Sare - Happy New Year to you and your family. I hope you have fun at the BBQ and for your sake I hope it's inside and airconditioned! 42 degrees is just obscene. Thank goodness it's not that hot here in Sydney. I think Pam is due first then Di, then Marion and Sarah, then Bec and Georgia - but I could be wrong?
Maryanne - I'm with you, it's almost unbelieveable how many of our group are pg again. I hope you and I aren't inadvertently next!
Bec - even a tool of a doc is good enough for a pg blood test. TBH I never even had a blood test when I was pg with Jet, just peed on a stick for my doc to confirm it, then did scans from thereon in. Congrats on the sparkler on your finger, we'll be married 5 years in March and I'm still waiting for mine...I figure the longer I have to wait the more effort he'll have to put in when it finally appears!
Beck - 4-5 steps is walking as far as I'm concerned. But obviously Kayley's focusing her energy on different things, she's very clever with her vocab! You guys have a pool? ahhh I wish...
Oh one more thing...Jet seems to have finally learnt to say NO (took him long enough considering DH is constantly chanting NO NO NO at him!). It's very cute right now, but I'm sure it will wear thin verrrrrry quickly...
Anyway HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your families, I hope that 2008 brings all you wish for
Hi guys,
well it would seem my instincts were spot on - I started bleeding yesterday (as soon as we arrived at the picnic of course) and still going today. Went to the hospy last night (neg blood group, have to have a needle when these things happen) and the wee test was still positive, but it can take a while for your HCG levels to fall, so that's neither here nor there. Of course, being a public holiday today, can't get my bloods to confirm one way or the other until Wed, and can't have the ultrasound til Thur. Bit of a crappy time really. I wish I could just know what's happened and get on with dealing!
Sorry bout the sad post on NYD :gloomy: but I wanted to talk to someone, and I don't want to tell family etc til we know what's happening for sure.
So far there's no pain and not a lot of mess so it's all a bit surreal really!

Hi girls....
I've started a new thread for the NEW YEAR!! :smiliedance:
Bec: :hugs: Sending you lots of hugs. I'm thinking of you, and hoping that all is going to be okay. I know it must be hard with today being a Public Holiday, but try and get some rest, and take it easy. You don't have to say sorry about posting....that's what we are all here for. :hugs:
