Hi everyone!!

Well this past week I have been stressed to the max! Work is really stressing me out. I work in a busy law firm in Newcastle.

I have been soooooo busy the past week and my boss just keeps dumping things on me at 5pm when i am meant to be finishing and making me stay back, or giving me work at 3 pm to finish by 5 pm which is impossible!

Since I have been stressed I have been having cramps. For about 2 days! They come and go but are mainly on the right side.

I am 10 weeks today and really scared that I will miscarry. Is it possible to miscarry from stress?

I seem to cry so easily lately. Still have touble eating. And just soooo exhausted. The symptoms are still there, but I have cramps too.

I'm scared....

I have my NT scan on Sat 15 December and it cant come soon enough for me!!! (sorry for long post!)

i have had alot of cramps with this pregnancy, and after m/c in March i stressed like anything..

Just try and take it easy and don't stress. Bub could just be growing and leaning on things on your right side..

Hi Mandii,

I'm not in your birth group but came across your thread in new posts. I hope you don't mind me posting a response.

Personally, yes I do believe that it is possible to cause harm to an unborn baby through stress. I had an intensely stressful situation at my work in April when I was 12 weeks pregnant. I was highly stressed for just over a week trying to bring in a major deal for my company. At 16 weeks, we found that our baby had passed.

My recommendation is this. If your boss knows about the pregnancy, tell them that you are having issues and you need them to be a little understanding for a few weeks if possible.

If they don't know about the pregnancy, tell them that whilst you are stil committed to your job, you need some additional time for tasks to spread them out across your day. This will also ensure that they are completed more thoroughly and not rushed.

It's easy to say 'don't stress' but it's truly important not to. You need to look after yourself and your bubba first and foremost. A job is a job, a baby is for life :hugs:

I hope you feel better soon. Your cramping could be ligaments or your uterus stretching...but it is a good time to rethink your stress levels.

Hi Mandi

I have been through IVF, got pregnant, had two bleeds (one v. heavy) and therefore have had 4 scans already (at 10.5 weeks). EVERY physician that I spoke to - GP, Fertility Specialist, Obstetrician - has told me to TAKE IT EASY (I run my own business) and to do what my body tells me - the baby is very clever at communicating what it wants. Ie DON'T work too hard (stress), sleep when you want to (if possible), etc. A job is not worth the loss of your precious gift, so do what you need to do to protect your baby. As I said, I run my own business - it 'needs' me, but I am working from home half of every day and taking naps in the middle of the day, as well as not ALLOWING anything or anyone to put pressure on.

Good luck!
