My DD is 7 months and occassionally has some diluted juice. She has since she was about 6 months old.

You will undoubtedly have replies to this thread suggesting that juice is bad and all of that, but it's so watered down, that I doubt it can do much harm (just taste it - it's terrible!). If it convinces bub to drink, then that's a plus too.

If I give some juice to bub, I only give her it with ONE of her meals...and I don't let it sit around with her. Once that meal is over, she can have a final drink, then she gets given water if she wants anymore. IMO, that's just teaching a good habit...that water is best, but juice is a treat.

I wouldn't recommend giving her any her cot or anything - could rot her teeth.

As for the oranges being acidic, pure orange juice would be, but I'm sure it's been so diluted it'll be just a tiny taste of citrus and won't upset her at all!

thanks girls. I gave brooke some heinz tropical and she had a couple sips .. shes really not into it .. i then gave her cold water in her bottle and she guzzled that up .. I might just hold off and stick to water until 9 mths ... 9 mths is when I plan on giving her real foods mashed up etc .. like our meals etc.

thanks again!!!!
