Hi everyone,
I am in search of anyone out there undergoing IVF, GIFT etc. I realise this is a touchy subject with most that endure it but it might be nice to chat. I have just started IVF cycle no. 2. Hope to chat to someone. Claire :)

Thankyou very much for your thoughts pippa. I had no trouble 1st time around we have a beautiful boy who will be 2 in a couple of weeks.
We then tried to use a couple of embryos but we lost both of them. Anyway we are keeping our fingers crossed this time round. Claire :) :)

Hey Claire
I'm not going through IVF at the moment but have done in the past. Just wanted to wish you and your hubbie all the best. It is such an emotional thing to go through but as you know it is worth it in the end when you hold bub in your arms.
One quick question - how are you handling going through IVF for the second child? Hubbie and I are wondering if we can cope with all of the emotions again that are associated with a fully stimulated cycle. If we try again we will have to start from scratch as we have no embryos left.
Take care
Murph

Hi murph,
Well it took us 6 months of "thinking about it" to decide that we were going try again. After we lost our embryos I decided that we would just wait and see how we felt in 6 mths time, if we still had thoughts about wanting another baby then we would do it, I didn't want to rush into anything. I have to go through a full cycle which I started only 4 days ago, so fingers crossed everything will go accoring to plan. If it fails then you know what I have one precious little boy that I am so very grateful for that will get the very best in life. All I can recommend is to have a good talk to your hubby and decide if that is what you want long term. At least I know at the end of all this that I tried and thats all I can do. Nice to chat thanks. Claire

I've been undergoing IVF for what seems like EVER!
Had two full cycles (2nd one hyperstimulated so couldnt have embryo's transferred) and now had 2 x frozen cycles. So all up we have been disappointed 4 times.
The last frozen cycle, was strange because I was nautious every day (even the day I recieved a negative pregnancy test) and for two days after that until I got my period. I dont really understand what that was about.
I confess to not feeling very confident that it will ever work and am wondering how people who have had more than one attempt at this cope with the failures.
We have 4 more embryos of questionable quality left and frozen sperm (my husband is now infertile after chemo) which is extremely poor quality. Our decision after we have used the 4 embryo's is whether we want to try again at all. I would consider donor sperm but my husband isnt keen. After hyperstimulating I'm not keen to do the full egg harvest thing again.
I really wish we could just have sex to get pregnant!!

I am sorry to hear that you have had several unsuccesful attempt it must be really hard on both of you. We were extremely lucky with success on our first attempt. We have since lost 2 embryos which was bad enough. I am due for my pick-up this thursday and transfer on Sat. This is our 2nd fully stimulated cycle and I can understand you not wanting to do it again. I totally understand the comment on having sex to fall Pregnant (wouldn't that be nice). I have been pretty lucky so far so good this time except today I am feeling a bit worse for ware pretty sick actually. Anyway thanks for the chat. Good luck if you try again.
