Hello,
Just a quick question...
Does anyone know what I can do for wisdom teeth that are coming through.
I've tried bonjela teething gel, but does not soothe it as I have 3 teeth coming through at the same time, one has already burst through. Very painful and most of all I am finding it very hard to eat. I have been told that during pregnancy(im 14 weeks) I can not go to the dentist and get anything done about them. Is this correct?
Does anyone know of something that will help me?
Thanx
Lauren

When preg I hurt my back and was in a lot of pain. The doctor advised that I could take panadine and also gave me a script for panadine forte (it's great stuff ).
I think there are other teething gels than bonjella if that hasn't worked for you. Have a look at the Teething area. (I haven't got that far with DS yet.)
Hope you're feeling better soon. :hugs:

You could try SM33 gel or liquid. You can only get it from a chemist, ask the pharmacist if you can use it during pregnancy before you buy it.
Otherwise you should be able to take the Brauer teething relief mixture as it is homeopathic - but goodness knows what the correct dose would be. You could try ringing Brauer, they are in South Australia.

When I was pregnant & having problems with a wisdom tooth I went to our local emergency (private hospital) and I got a script for Panadeine forte and a pethidine shot.
Best $150.00 I'd ever spent!

Thankyou all so much for you help,
I think there will definitly be a quick trip to the pharmacy in the morning.
It it so unbearable. I don't know how I am going to sleep tonight.
I think I have some Panadine Forte around here somewhere, that might ease the pain and knock me out! We can only hope!

Help me please!
My teeth are killing me...
I have resorted to milk, yoghurt and mashed banana to fill me up! I can't eat anything. It is all sooooo painful. This can't be good for bub! Not even Panadine Forte is helping.
I am going insane, does anyone have even any old wives tales to get rid of even just a little bit of pain?
Should I go to a dentist? - I don't know what they can do.
HELP ME PLEASE!
Lauren

The women's and Children's hospy in Adelaide make a mixture called lignocaine. There is also a pharmacy in WA that makes a brilliant teething product. What state r u in? the pharmacy departments in major hospy's should b able to tell u what u can do. also, try rubbing a bit of ice on ur gums, sucking it is the best way to do this and Ice will help relieve inflammation

GO to the dentist !!!!!!!
You poor thing..I had the same thing when I was pregnant with DD and I got all 3 teeth out no problems while pregnant..only thing they dont like to do unless its extreamly nessisary is xrays but they give you a led apron to wear to protect bubs if they desperatly need to do one..
It will take a while cause they will only give you little bouts of annasetic at a time but well worth the time in the chair in the long run. :hugs:

Alisando01- I am in NSW/Sydney
Kristi- I think i am going to have to take your advice on this one! I will make an appointment tomorrow if I can't get it done (fingerscrossed).
Although I am a bit funny about anesthetic while pregnant. Mmmmm but if it is a low dose I can't see why not. Do you have to be a certain amount of weeks into your pregnacy to get it done though?
Thanks for all your help

I was iffy about the meds too but seriously they use so little and top it up like every 15 mins it has no effect on bubs at all..alot of what they did for me was with a cream and not a needle... I was 26 weeks pregnant when I had mine done but I should have gone heaps sooner....moring sickness evidently cause heaps of women to need dental work cause of decay from heaps of throwing up so I dont think it really matter how far along you are..if anything the sooner the better cause if infection kicks in your are going to be in a much worse position with less choices IYKWIM.

Dentist gave our daughter some Chloro Fluro gel...I dont think its a pain killer, but it helped her temporarily.
Other than drugs and removal, not much you can do - sorry

Hi Mummajugs,
Hopefully you've been to the dentist and they've been able to help you out. I just wanted to tell you that two weeks ago I broke a molar in half all the way down into the gum. I was 24 weeks pregnant then and freaking out about going to the dentist. Anyway my dentist doesn't like taking x-rays of any pregnant woman so he gave me small amounts of anesthetic and took the tooth out. It turns out that it should have been a surgical extraction since the roots were all over the place and he had to grind off some of jawbone to get to it. He was really patient though and gave me lots of rests and got it all out in the end. I was in a bit of pain for the first night ( I didn't want to take anything not even panadol, I know I'm a wierdo!) and then my friend told me to try colloidal silver. I bought a bottle and an eyedropper and every few hours I gently swished some around in my mouth and the pain relief was instant. Apparently it's anti-bacterial too so it helps fight infection.
The only real pain I had was for the first night afterwards and it was way worse than when I had my wisdom teeth out. The silver was the best thing ever, wish I knew about it before.
Hope you're feeling better!

is there a dental hospy (not just a dentist) that u can get into? try ringing the state dental service. they may b more helpful than a private dentist.
