Hi there,
My daughter has been getting high temperatures since thursday she has been grizzly, not having milk bottles water instead she dosnt seem to be dehydrated because she is still drinking water.I give her panadol or neurofen when she starts to get a temp but about 1-2 hrs after it just comes back.Other than the temperatures she is fine no other symptoms.Any suggestions on what it could be?I have taken her to the hospital thursday night and they said she had no sign of infection.
My little one has a virus recently where nurofen or panadol failed to reduce the temperature for any length of time. My GP told me there was a virus going around at the moment. I gave her tepid bath's and sponged her down with water with a little white vinegar in it (on Doc's advice). If there is no improvement I would go back to the doctor again though.
Then again she could be teething (although some do not believe teething as such exists!)

If it's just a temp and she is still drinking and having dirty and wet nappies then it could be teething or just a virus, antibiotics can't help viral infections only when they are bacterial infections e.g. green runny noses, or other flemmy symptoms (be warned I'm not a doctor though!!!) If her temp is getting over 39-40 deg though I would be really worried because she can have convulsions.
It comes back every 1-2 hrs cause the panadol wears off - would reccommend only using either panadol(prefered) OR Nurofen though!!!! Write down all the meds u give her incase u have to go back to the doctor!!!!
Without other symptoms or a rapid increase in temp I don't think I'd be worried
Good luck - follow your instincts on this one though!!!
