My nearly 3 yr old daughter has routines that she has to do and she's quite obsessive about it, such as checking the clock several times a day and her routine before bed that she cant stray from. i wonder if this is normal. do any of your children behave this way. people have suggested it might be autism but my sis who is an early childhood teacher seems to think its not.

Any ideas?

Have you seen someone about it?
It may just be a faze she's going through, but there is a condition called obsessive compulsive disorder.
Some personalities just function better on routine and structure.

I have a 3 yo son - who has his own funny little ways.

If you have a persistent question at the back of your mind, perhaps a visit to your GP or talking to your daughter's kindy/carer...someone outside the family may be better able to give you an objective assessment without the risk of "love goggles".

Good luck!
