Just wanting your opinions .......DF and I decided to TTC#2 so I stopped the pill and simply estimated I would ovulate on CD14 (I have always had 28 day cycles). First cycle has come and gone without a BFP but I got AF on CD24, a few days earlier than expected.
Now I know it may take a little while for my cycles to go back to normal after stopping the pill but I wasn't sure what is the quickest and easiest way to pinpoint ovulation after stopping the pill.
When I concieved DS I stopped the pill after taking it for 10yrs and was pregnant two wks later after our first try, we were very very lucky, so this didn't happen before and now im full of questions!!!
This cycle I was just going to assume I ovulate on CD14 again, (counting from my first AF after stopping the pill) and try from there, otherwise I have OPK's also which I could use ........ does this sound ok??? I thought i'd give this a go before considering temping and I dont usually pay too much attention to my CM, but know if I start this would help :)
What do you think? Or was your experience after coming off the pill???
Thanks heaps!

There are lots of ways that you can judge when you're ovulating.

There are ovulation predictor tests available from the supermarket/chemist, which are pee-on-the-stick tests (a bit like pregnancy ones) that measure a spike in the lutenising hormone, which happens right before ovulation.

You could try checking your cervix and seeing what your cervical mucous is like - "egg white cervical mucous" (clear, stretchy, with the consistancy of raw egg-white) is 'fertile' CM.

As my GP said to me once "you're horny when you're fertile" - you could judge it by how much you're desiring to be intimate with your DH/DP.

A lot of women experience "Meddlesmertz" - painful ovulation - you could try getting quite in tune with your body to see if you can 'tell' when you're ovulating through pain...

I'd do a bit of research on the TTC threads here - a LOT of the women there have been trying for a long time and are full of knowledge about the variety of methods of catching the egg.

Mostly, I'd suggest that you just relax and enjoy the ride - how exciting to be trying to bring a new baby into the world! :bee:

ETA: Sorry, just read your post properly and saw you already know about CM and OPKs - so I apologise that I was going over old ground for you :)
