I noticed that Big W have a bike trailer (http://catalogues.bigw.com.au/portal/offerdetails?pageview=two&CatalogueID=1195426593179&gotopage=1&OfferID=1195692642051&CatalogueID=&source=catalogueoffer)that you can put a baby in from newborn. Hubby wanted to get a seat to attach to his bike when Jedd is old enough - but I'm wondering if this might be safer cause if the bike falls over then they wouldn't get hurt...
Suggestions?? :detective:

how cool is that, the other good thing is that bubs is in the shade and maybe no need for a helmet.
by the way Jedd is looking gorgeous now. 6 months today our little bubbas are. how are things going, pop in to the may thread and fill us in.

I think these are great !
We were going to get one because DP loved using his bike .... Then went & injured himself
I definately think they are safer but then maybe others know something we dont .....
Plus as JM said bubs is in the shade which is fantastic for summer !
I have a bike seat, but haven't used it yet... I've decided that it's impractical... there's no shade, I can't take anything with me as a backpack would just smother him and there's no where else to go and i've heard they're quite awkward for a long while...
I'm now looking into a trailer... I don't like the one you've linked though as you can't take it off the bike and use it as a stroller, which is what I'd want to do.

We have a Bike Trailer we bought off Ebay and the girls love it.
I am not sure it is advised to put a newborn in a bike trailer due to it bouncing around from all vibrations from the road. ( probably would have to check with a reputable bike dealer).
We had a bike seat and we used it for DD1 when she was about 12 months old. But with 2 we got the trailer, they also need to wear helmets.
Seekrit - the ones on ebay you can use as a stroller...

We used to have one, I really don't see how you would put a newborn in one though...is there a special attachment?
My DD got fed up with it and grizzled and grumped because she kept slipping down and would end up all awkward. You should also have a helmet on them in the trailer - her helmet used to rub on the back of the trailer and fall down on her eyes.
That is just us though, I see them around quite a bit up here and there are people using them!!
We now have the seat on the back of the bike and bubby likes that as she can see around, it is not so boring for her I think!!
