Today was/is my second wedding anniversary. Hubby was away last year for our first anniversary and is away again this year for our second.
Last year he had flowers delivered to me. So, naturally I assumed that I would receive them again this year.
Nothing.
Nada.
Zilch.
He then told me in a text message that I shouldn't be so materialistic :banghead:
Am I being selfish? Should I 'expect' flowers? Or should I just learn my lesson and not 'expect' anything ever again... :hissy:
What did you send to him? :p ;)
I don't expect anything on any special time... we tend not to have money so we don't 'waste' what we have on material items.

In my haste to post I forgot to add a few things.
1. He remembered
2. He had his mobile and reception
3. He knows that I hurt my neck yesterday - so it SHOULD have been a double whammy (anniversary & get well)

I gave him his gift before he left...

I think he should acknowledge the anniversary and sending flowers is a nice way to do that. So yes, he should know better!!!

If you have decided to celebrate then yep you should have received some kind of gift, especially if you gave him one!!!! Here are some virtual flowers for you:flowerz:

I don't expect anything tbh. I am happy enough knowing that we made it to our anniversary with lots of love Valentine

Dont hate me but i agree with his text message.. :o
Sorry.. :footinmouth:
But in saying that it probably wasn't a wise move to actually say that to you, even if its what he was thinking.. ;)

I agree, if you have decided together that each year you will give each other a gift then you should expect something. If nothing was said, I don't think it's that big a deal.

I've always expected nothing so that if something does come its a bonus :)
We've been married for 4 years now and the first 2 years we bought each other something but now we just get the kids a sitter, go out for dinner, movies or something like that.
I prefer the quality time alone with my husband rather than gifts.
