My 12 months old son is very good at eating three meals and two bottles. But he is just not interested in fruit. He used to have fruit puree and was happy to eat it. Now the only fruit he likes are kiwi (sometimes) and banans. But I cannot just give him bananas which give him constipation. Please help...... My email is patfoskett@hotmail.com

Thanks!

have you tried canned fruit, like peach slices or pear slices? my two hold them in their hands, they love them.

My son would not eat any fruit and my girlfriend suggested I try sprinkling some cinnamon on it. He now eats bananas, oranges, mandarins and apples. I started sprinkling a fair amount on the fruit and then each time just a little less. He now eats it without the cinnamon. Try it, its a natural product! Good luck.:fingerscrossed:

How about a fruit smoothie?

I wouldn't worry to much. As long as he is eating plenty of other healthy foods like vegetables, cereals, dairy etc I'm sure he'll be fine.

I used to mix pureed or mashed up fruit into things like weetbix or maybe even farex. Or I would give chopped up pieces to the girls as finger food. DD2 likes advocado and banana mixed together (thanks K.M) but won't eat them separately so try mixing fruits together for a different flavour.

wow thats a great idea!! Mine are 10 months and not supposed to have cows milk as a drink, do you think I should wait a few months before trying this (they have cows milk on their cereal)

O&GMUM, use formula or breastmilk or even just water or some very juicy fruit!!

Watermelon was always a favorite here. And grapes.

I know a mum who had the same issue with her son.

So, she figured that she is always sharing her food with him and made a plate of fruit 'for herself' then sat down pretending it was hers. The fruit was all cut up and laid out on a plate for easy grabbing. Before she could even finish a piece of Pineapple he was into it.

What ever works eh?
