I need help/opinions from anyone who might have had the same trouble, or is having the same trouble.
My DS 9 months old, USED TO BE the perfect child - sleeping almost 12 hours at night most nights :smiliedance: , but from about 7 months, wakes every 3 hours!! Goes to bed at about 8 or 9 at night, then wakes at about 12ish, wants a feed (BF) goes straight back to sleep, then wakes again at 2 or 3, doesn't really want a feed, but i make him just so he will go back to sleep, which sometimes he does, but most of the time he doesn't, then i take him to the lounge room to play for about an hour and a half, then back to bed till approx 5 or 5.30am...... THIS IS KILLING ME!! :banghead:

Is this normal? Has anyone got any tips? Does anyone think the controlled crying thing works? Please help me with anything ANYONE!! :fingerscrossed:

Hi RynosMummy,

I believe that controlled 'comforting' works and there are a few threads you may wish to refer to in the pro-controlled section. We used it with our Ryno and it quickly taught him how to self-settle thus no more night waking (unless he's unwell or has a night terror but I wouldn't recommend controlled comforting during that time).

Best of Luck !:D

Hi Rynosmummy,

I agree the controlled comforting and crying helps bubbies learn to get themselves back to sleep my 10 month old has been giving me some shocking nights the last few weeks, and i started the controlled comforting at 7 months he was going well going down at 9.30 and i was still giving him a feed at 4.00 then he would go straight back down till 7.30, but for the last month i cut the feed out all together he is eating really good and i give him a boobfeed before he goes down but when i started this he would wake at 2am everynight and would not settle till 4am thats when i would give in and bring him to bed and a bit of boob so could get to sleep. But again a fortnight ago when it happend and i gave in i brought him into bed but stopped giving him any boob and yes he went to sleep so i have persisseted and last night he slept from 9.30 to 5 he stired at 2 but got himself of to sleep and when he woke at 5 i snuggled him back with his blankets and he went back to sleep and wow i feel great:smiliedance:

I find there routines change as they change its just a matter of sticking with it and that can be tuff when you are drained:sleeping: and frustrated:banghead: but i find the forums really help.

cheers.
