Hubby and I just started TTC # 2. Its very exciting and nerve racking at the same time.
Ive been on Zoloft for about a year now, 2 months ago I started cutting back to 50mg a day, its 3 days since I last took a tablet (because I ran out).... And Im wondering if I should just go cold turkey since we are TTC now?
What does everyone think?

I went cold turkey and dont recommend it.
I got these funny things liek electrical buzzes in my head for weeks.
Its so hard to explain.
I also got dizzy and headachey and sick.
It might have been just me but take it slow if you can hun.
BIG FAT NO!!!
They have a 37.5mg one that the Dr's will use to wean you off.
I went cold turkey off my meds when I fell pg with Linc, and proceeded to go slightly troppo... PLEASE go to the doc... :hugs::hugs:

Ok. I shall pick up the 50mg tabs today and start chopping them in half!
I just have this feeling that the Dr is too busy to really listen to my concerns about being on antis while pregnant. I dont have another psychologist appoitnment until the 10th either.
So do you think 25mg a day would be OK?

NO, just slowly cut down, half a tablet for a week or two, then a quater of a tablet for another week or so, ending in a quater every second day for about a week. See your doctor, and goodluck.

:iagree: Dont do it hun.....
I got the same feelings as decribed above - i thought i was loosing my marbles!:dizzy:
Please be very careful with those tabs - i was on Zoloft too - just wean yourself of hun....
If it's any help, when i came off of mine i started doing yoga & meditation techniques to help me relax, i also keep a journal that i write in all the time, my psych said it doesnt matter how trivial it seems - write it down! Even something as silly as "Pink Elephants in TuTu's"...
Just get it out of your head onto paper!
Good luck sweet pea...
Big hugs to you:hugs:
Mischief I agree with everyone else. I'm also worried that it sounds like you dont have a very good GP. Sometimes people can't choose their GP (like in country towns for example) but if you can choose yours I suggest you think about looking around for one who will listen to you properly about how you feel about anti's and ttc/being pregnant. Not trying to tell you what to do - just a suggestion. You deserve to be listened to properly hun.
Please dont go cold turkey. I'm also concerned about your Dr's lack of help. Are you able to see another? I wasn't on your medication, but on Lexapro, when it was decided I was ready, I had to wean myself for around a month, cutting the tablet down bit by bit. He stressed the importance of doing this, and not skipping any dose.
Have fun TTC :)
