View Full Version : Pillow under bum for BFP?????
This is my theory, if people can 'accidently' fall pregnant without even trying then why do we need to put the pillow under our bum?
Was this some wives tale to make fools of us TTCers?????
I am considering giving up the pillow next month....My theory is that is sends the sperm behind the cervix where it gets stuck....

I reckon it's just supposed to help... I don't normally do it, but I tried it the other night... lol DP just thought I was being kinky! ;)

When DH and I were ttc we were at it all the time and nothing happened for about 10months, then I realised I was going to the toilet pretty much straight away - I always thought this was hygenic so u didnt get infections etc etc.
Anyway in Feb DH and I both had a cold so we only Bd'd once and I had read that you should stay in the same position as u 'finished' for at least 20 mins, so we did this and as silly as it sounds I then put my legs up against the wall for another 15 or so and we got a :bfp:!
I'm now a week overdue with our son and I am defininetly going to try it again for our next.

I'd never heard of it before until just the other day my sister said it to me haven't tryed it yet, do we think it works??:D

I used it with my DD and got pregnant on the first BFP, but also I was really lazy and would not get up out of bed after. This time round it is a bit harder to lie still because DD usually wakes up just as we are finishing bd:rolleyes: oh well it's usually cause the cat has jumped on her and she is yelling, "No sha sha, bad!'
hmmm, I have done the pillow thing this cycle, so who knows??

Well thinking back I have tried maybe once of twice before this cycle, and obviously nothing much came of that!
But who knows for this cycle? May be thrid time lucky!
I think it comes down to just having the time and patience to just lay there.. I don't know, contemplate your navel or something! :) I usually make DP wait to BD until we are going to bed, that way he can roll over and snore, while I lay there quietly thinking... But the pillow is so uncomfortable when you are lying there thinking, I end up taking it out and just lie there with my knees bent (like it would help!?!)
Hmm.. I think I just rambled on there, sorry! I am too tired to write all that and not post it, though!

yep used it .... dont know if that is what worked as it took me nearly 4 years of ttc (so really I tried EVERYTHING !!!!!) but where doing that when we finally got our BFP ....
Hi All,
This is our first month of TTC and we are doing the pillow under the bum thing and i had been laying down for anywhere between 15-25 once i think it was even 30mins... So we will see i guess!! We started with a few pillows and we just put them under from the beginning, spose it puts you on the angle from the start so when the sperm goes in it's going straight to the back.. i dunno, i'm definately not an expert! I was then talking to others and they said that using too many pillows may cause it to pool at the cervix so then we switched to just one... i don't know, as someone said people get pregnant from one nighters so who knows!!!
i voted "other' as we used pillow when TTC #1 and got a BFP.
Didnt with #2, my DS.

Well I am 12 dpo and if AF shows up, I might give up the pillow for one month and see how it goes, seeing that so many of you got yor BFP without it!!!

I have heard that it's better to stay in the position that you 'finsished in'. I used to get up and go to the loo right after we finished but stopped that when TTC.

We were laughing about this the other day!
When we were TTC I did everything in the book to make sure it happened... LOL :o
But the month we got our BPF we had decided to enjoy ourselves and that after that month we were going to stop TTC, and I would focus on my career for a while....so there was no pillows or anything else!!!

Honestly I dont think it makes a difference, you are more likely to conceive if both partners are relaxed and enjoying themselves! :yes:
