Hi,

My DS is going along slowly with his TT, he is 3 and 3 mths. He does well with wees on the potty,(I have to remind him sometimes), but he still has a few probs doing no. 2 on the potty.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips or ideas on how I can move DS from potty to toilet with out to many hassles. He is getting a bit big for the potty, I have a toilet seat that goes under the big seat and a step. The step is a bit small and I was thinking of buying either a bigger step or one of those toilet seats with a ladder attached. What would be better?

Thanks...

Our toilet seat is one of the padded ones that you sit inside the regular seat. Nice and comfy. Nat's 'pee step' as it's now called was actually one that my DH knocked up with some spare bits of wood. We were lucky that he made it too tall then just took little bits off till it was the right height.
I'm not sure how much the ladders are but I think they are a really good idea especially with the handles, gives them a feeling of support, that they're not going to fall in.
I guess it depends how much you want to spend... but I do like the ladder idea.

We have the seat with the ladder attached (given to us by friends) & it is fantastic. Really helps them get the hang of the toilet without it being this big scary thing!

We used a bit of both (potty & toilet) for DS1 who is 3yrs. He loves the fact that he can put the seat/ladder thing on the toilet himself (makes him feel very grown up)!

We got Nat a potty and he out grew it so quickly. We got it when he was 18 months by the time he was 2 and we really started potty training he was too big and would get red marks on his poor little bum from sitting on it.
Luckily he got the idea pretty quickly and has been fully trained since before Christmas.
I'm dreading training PJ though, Nat was far too easy, I'm sure next time round it will be much harder!!
