Our washing machine blew up last week.
So I am off to buy a new one tomorrow and would love some recommendations.....
What do you have and why is it good/not so good.
And I would love to hear about some front loaders- they seem to be more popular (due to water usage i think?)
Thanks!

Front loaders (for me) are a pain in the butt because you have to constantly bend down to get the washing in and out and it kills my back!
You can get a really good Fisher & Paykel top loader that is just as (if not more) water efficient than most front loaders out there atm.
HTH :)

Thanks- thats actually what I was kinda thinking, and that if it is a front loader DS would get into it and pull everything out all the time!

I also have that problem!! :hair:
We bought an Electrolux front loader about 2 months ago. The one before was a Westinghouse front loader.
Love front loaders because:
Use very little water
Use less washing powder
Clothes dont tangle up like in a top loader
Tissues in the wash seem to collect in the rubber section on the door and dont go through the wash (the models we have had anyway.)

Oh god I should have gotten what you have!! My clothes tangle like they've been through a cyclone, it drives me insane!!! :banghead:
We bought a front loader, an LG, to replace our old top loader (that we named Rough Rangi because it wrecked our clothes).
The front loader is lovely, it cleans the clothes so well and doesn't mangle them. I don't find it a hassle to unload or anything, you don't really bend down, you just reach in.
DS doesn't get into it, he can't open the door. He likes to watch the washing go round though, just like TV but no ads, lol.
I would recommend it, I haven't had any problems with it.

I have a Kleenmaid, absolutely the best washer I have ever had.
I would never buy another Fisher Paykel one though, the motherboard blew twice (just as it came out of warranty) and cost us a fortune in repairs and was just a hassle. The Kleenmaid replaced it - it's pretty much no frills (no flashing lights or beeps) , just a good solid washer :)
We have a Kleenmaid front loader and it is good for saving water, also if you are in qld you get $200 rebate. It has a child lock too so DS can't get into it and is very gentle on clothes.
Meant to add, the clothes are less wrinkled too!
Less ironing, Im a happy camper.
Also, I think our old Westinghouse was better than the Electrolux we currently have.

I have an LG front loader/dryer combo. They're fantastic - especially if space is a consideration. Front loaders are the go IMO, they are much more gentle on clothes, which means they last longer, are less wrinkly when you get them out so less ironing :yelclap: They are also A LOT better with water consumption then ANY top loader on the market!

The one with the most stars!!!
Unless you bucket the bath water into your top-loader. Still haven't figured out if this is a real saving or not?????
