Hi all,
My 14 month old son woke up yesterday morning with flemmy cough. No other symptoms. Does anyone know of a natural way of helping him bring this up.
Thanks :p

If I get a bit chesty, I always take Horseradish & Garlic tablets. These have a wonderful drying effect, no side effects. In fact a couple of my friends are singers and they now swear by it.
I'm not sure what you could do for a little one though. Maybe a quarter of a tablet 2 or 3x a day. You can get this from the supermarket, but if you can, try to go to a health food shop as they usually have someone there that can help you out.
My son is 10 mnths and quite chesty right now, no I am adding roasted garlic or ginger to his food at the moment, should see an improvement by tomorrow.
good luck

Thanks heaps for that, I didn't know about horseradish tablets.
We just visted the doctor again today, as he is having difficulty breathing, they have told us to give him the nebuliser with some ventalin. I made some soup on Saturday night and put both garlic and ginger in it. But he has turned off his food at the moment. Poor thing...You know he is such a good boy even when he is sick :)

Let us know how you go. Coughs are one of the hardest things to deal with. My pharmacist says that all the cough elixers/medicines are pretty useless. MY DD always ends up with a cough if she gets a runny nose, Doc says she's bordering on Asthmatic (sp?).
Best wishes
