To me it sounds like she is not ready for it yet. She should let you know when she is ready to start just leave the potty somewhere where she is able to see it and access it easily and she might see it as something that is not bad to use. I f you force them into doing it when they are not really ready they will most probably be scared to do anything. That is my opinion anyhow. I am currently toilet training DS1 and he will sit on his potty without a worry and is doing well now but used to hold his wees in for quite a while and then wee when you allow him up off his potty. So basically she will do it when she is ready.

How old is she?
My daughter was scared of a potty but prefered the toilet.

She's not ready.

Wait a while. If you try to train her while she's scared of the potty/toilet you could create more problems for yourself.

We tried with our boys.. thinking that Oliver would be fine if he saw Jordan doing it. But instead he became completely over anxious and we've spent the last nine months dealing with a child who is chronically constipated and becomes deliriously anxious and stressed when he needs to poo.

It's only just stopped in the last 2 weeks... when we tried toilet training again... as now he WAS ready... at 2 yrs 7 months. He was toilet trained in 2 days. And has only had 2 acciendents. He's been in undies for a month now.

My DD just turned 16 months and we are starting. were not to serious about it yet, we sit her on the potty surrounded with toys and make a game out of it. she did her first poo last night ..yay..:smiliedance: I think the main thing is not to push it, don't make it an issue.

good luck with it all
