Hi everyone. Just a question for you parents of premmies. I am 22 weeks pregnant and have a low lying placenta. This has already caused a lot of spotting throughout my pregnancy and last week I had a big bleed and had to spend 4 nights in hospital. My ob told me there is a good chance my baby will have to be delivered early. I am interested to hear if any of you had your babies early due to this problem. I am a bit worried about what is to comne but am trying to find out as much information as possible so I am prepared for any outcome. So any stories or advice you can give me would be most appreciated. Thanks.

My early babies weren't due to the same problem as yours but I just wanted to wish you all the best. :hugs: Having a prem baby is hard but it's amazing what these little miracle babies can achieve. You'll have lots of support here if you need it and remember that it's fine to cry and feel upset. Best of luck to you and bub, I hope it all goes well for you and you can hold on for as long as possible. :fingerscrossed: Try to take it as easy as possible and definitely accept ANY offers of help. Take care.

I just wanted to let you know that I had a low-lying placenta at the morphology scan, and I had another scan at 34 weeks which showed the placenta had moved right up out of the way. They do move, so it might not be an issue at all for you :hugs:
Also, another mummy I know (hi E :)) had a very low placenta, grade 4 praevia I think (the most severe) so she had a c-section but she did go full-term.

Hi,
I too had a low lying placenta with my last pregnancy and it was very low right up until she was born...at nearly 42 weeks :)

Good luck :)

I had a low lying placenta also but at my 36 week ultrasound it showed that the placenta had moved right away. I went to 41weeks.

hi there i didnt have a low lying placenta with my first bubs but i went into early labour and had her at 35weeks everything was fine! but i am now preganant again and the second ultrasound showed up i had a low lying placenta and they basically told me they would do another ultrasound at around 30weeks to see if all is good they have told me not to panic as it normally is ok by 30weeks so i have my fingers crossed all is good for my next ultrasound so i can have the natural birth i want! goodluck to you and i hope all goes well:hugs:
