Hi my Dh and I are currently on our 3rd cycle of IVF this time we have decided to go the 2nd day transfer as in the past we have gone to day 5 Blasto and lost most of our embies with both times only having 2 remaining to transfer...My question is , I know they say that waiting to blasto stage gives you a better chance but have any of you IVF ladies had success on day 2 transfer...We are kind of thinking that my body will be the best place for them to be staight away instead of me stressing for a week to see how many make it to day 5......?What are your opinions please?

Hi Helenwantsabub,

On our first attempt at IVF 31/2 years ago we had 2 x 2 day embies (four cells) transferred and got TWINS!!!

I know this topic is highly debated. My clinic only does 2-3 day transfers for that reason - they think the best place for embie is in mum!!!

good luck, hoping for a BFP for you!!!!:fingerscrossed:

Hi Helen

Our first cycle was blasto (using ICSI). We had a :bfp: but ended with blighted ovum at 7 weeks :crying:.

FET with blasto :bfn:

New cycle different clinic, 3 day embies no ICSI needed (I have harped on in other threads about the diet we went on which is why we think we did not need ICSI but thats another story). Resulted in a :bfp: And we now have our gorgeous 7 month old girl.

So for us we think shorter time out is better. :flowerz:

Best of luck to you and DH for this cycle.

We went through icsi for the first time in June 06 and had a 3 day embie transferred with a :bfp:. We had 2 more frozen and I am almost to the BT stage of a fet cycle using the 2nd 3 day embie. I have friends who have been successful with a 2 day embie. Am crossing everything for you!!

We had a 2 day transfer, 2 embies and one took, he arrived last week @38wks... :yelclap:

Both myself and DH felt more confident with the 2day transfer, and that the best place is inside mum...

we also only had those 2 embies make it that far...

Good luck..:babydust2::babydust2::babydust2::babydust2:

Firstly Tally Congratulations on the safe arrival of rylan.

Helenwantsabub: I have done 3 cycles all with 2-3day tranfers & had a neg result. Am in the middle of my 4th full cycle . The clinic I go to, I asked them if there was many that had a positive. They said to me that they had a higher than average month:thumbsup:.

I hope this helps.

Had my scan and we have going to get a really good result I can just feel it, my last couple of cycle we got 8 and 7 eggs....This scan I have 7-9 on the left side and 4-6 on the right side.....that makes around 14 to 15 of which 8 are matured and hopefully some more will before EPU.....I am so stoked!!!EPU is on monday morning .......I had a big emotional outburst at the clinic this morning, I think it is because I am so happy and them the parking attendant was so rude to me ....One of the nurses asked if I was ok and I started to cry like a baby.....she said not to be embarressed as it is very normal....But I am so happy it doesn't matter!!!Helen xx__________________

Congratulations on such great numbers !! :thumbsup:Good luck for tomorrow - I can just about feel your positivity through the computer screen....I'm SURE this will be your time hun !
My FS only likes to transfer day 2-3 embies as he believes that science lab dishes aren't as good as the "real thing" to grow a baby !! Makes sense to me, although it hasn't worked for me YET !!
Sending you lots of happy thoughts :goodvibes: and good pick up vibes for tomorrow - let us know how you get on.

Hi Girls,Just a short note to let you know we only got 4 eggs yesterday for my EPU, most of the follicoles were empty.....clinic rang this morning 2 have fertilized, I was very upset yesterday but am trying to see the positive side today, it only takes 1 right?I am very sore from EPU they had lots of trouble getting to the right ovary.....Transfer tomorrow.....I am hoping and praying this is my month...__________________

In my experience I would have to say for us a day 3 transfer was the winner, we had two transferred and have adorable twins as the result! Although I have to admit that was a fresh cycle, and the only Blasty cycle we did was with frozen Embryos.
