This time around I made sure my paperwork was in and they are still saying I cant vote.

Spoon....I was voting for Labor  I doubt my little vote would make any difference in who is chosen but I have never voted before so I really wanted to this time!

LOL I feel the same, I actually didnt enrol to vote unti lI was 21, with a baby on the way, so I thought I better!
If you sent all your paperwork away you should have recieved a letter from your local MP or whatever they are called, saying your new details were registered and you are now able to vote.
We had to change over addresses, sent paper work away 6 times and nothing, got a letter in the mail saying that we were enrolled to vote aat our old address, but it was sent to our new address, and so I contacted the local MP and they sent me out some paperwork which I returned directly to them instead, and then it was all sorted, so maybe try that next time!

Are you sure it's not a mistake?
Go online to your local electoral comission and search for your name on the roll, it may be some kind of stuff up.
I wouldn't let it rest, keep on their back. Your vote is just as crucial as the next person.

Yup did that and couldnt find my name online at all. I changed addresses and they recieved that paperwork bc everything else is coming to my new address.
Ill wait to see if someone calls tomorrow to explain if not i'll be giving them a call back and demanding to know why.

I fyou read my post, the fact that everything is coming to your new address is not neccessarily the case, as we changed our address, yet there was no record of it, we recieved post at our NEW address saying we were still enrolled at our OLD address!
And if they did get the paperwork for your address change you should have recieved a letter with some sort of code thing on it, which you could quote when dealing with them! As its your reference number for enrolment!
They some how are able to get your new address with out actually having chaged your details over from the old address!

I get what your saying but the lady I spoke with said that they hadn't recieved my paperwork with my new enrolement details. They had my new address down and she said they had deleted my old address but my file or whatever said i am 'unable' to vote. She was pretty vague about it all and was reading out to me word for word out of some book she had and said she would get someone to call me back to explain properly.
I didnt even think that I would get a confirmation about it. The letter arrived today saying I cant vote. If I wasnt allowed to vote shouldnt they have sent me out this weeks ago so I could get a new enrolement form off to them?
This is the second time that they havent recieved my enrolement forms and its just getting frustrating.
