Really would like to move from Syd to Gold coast. Has anyone else done it? Can anyone tell me what rental prices are like? For all different types of places?

the prices are getting stupid up here. i moved from sydney 11 yrs ago wen it was reasonable.these days i have not heard of being able to get a house under 300 bucks. if you are willing to live in units/duplexes/townhouse you may get one for 250+. but for the cheaper places there is lots of rental competiton.

hey we have a three bedroom in back of nerang near gilston a nicer area and our rent is going up to $330 a week with a/c so we are happy its a nice open plan house.

I am looking at 3 bedroom rentals at the moment and can't find anything in a decent area close to transport and shops for less then $340.

you cant get a townhouse for under the $300 mark anymore. I looked some on the realeaste web sit they were just as much as a house. That was around the coomer area. we were lucky and got one when it was cheap.

At the moment, I pay $260 for a 3 bedroom townhouse with a/c and an ensuite! Man, I don't know if I'm going to be able to do this!

$260 is good we are paying $270 for a townhouse 3 brms with no ac. No ensuit bathroom we got this place around easter and taken out 1yr lease so they cant put the rent up but im sure they planing to put it up. Everytime interest rates go up the rent goes up. we struggling as it is.

we pay $265 for a 2 bedroom, good sized back yard, one bathroom, single lock up garage duplex...
it is good for the gold coast...BUT yep prices are a joke really.....
if you are really conmsidering it have a good look around, you can be lucky. our friends moved a few houses down, 3 bedrrom 2 bthroom, slug, for 280pw....thats in coombabah!!

we thought coomera was a cheaper erea but not anymore. we are not close to the beach. we are struggling so much that i even thought about leaving my partner

Is there any reason you want to move to the Gold Coast? Do you have family or friends there?
If you are happy to be a little further away from the coast then rentals are a bit cheaper. We live in Logan, it takes me about 30-45mins to drive to the gold coast. A 3 bedroom house round here is about $300/wk, sometimes a little more or less depending on what the house is like. Beenleigh area is also ok, tho I haven't lived there myself. It's a bit closer to the coast than where I live, and the rent is (or was last time I looked) slightly cheaper.

You can also look up www.seqrents.com.au alot of the onsite managers of complexes use this site and sometimes you can get a better deal. I hope this helps.

When we moved here we were looking for a 3 bedroom townhouse in Robina, and on average they were around $370+ per week. We ended up getting a 4 bedroom house for $410 instead.
