On the weekend (hospital class) they said a good time to put it in was 35 weeks so you get used to it and just in case.

I've called 2 local hire places today and can't get through to either.
Mel - in Vic we can call the RACV and they give out a list of local fitters. There is also a mobile company down here that does it.
Have you tried googling it?

We had our carseat for quite a few months before I had DD, however we didn't have it installed in the car until I was in hospital. DH went to the RACT and had it put in. Only reason we left it so late was because the car is really, really tiny and we needed all the room we could get, as you had to have the passenger seat nearly all the way forward, and I simply couldn't fit in the car with my big fat belly LoL
This time though, now that i'm driving a bigger car, we'll do it as soon as we get DD's new seat in a few weeks time. I'll put her current convertible car seat on the other side and put her new car seat where the old one was. I want to get DD used to being in the new seat before bubs arrives :)

Honeyblossom - the RTA will be able to give you a list of installers, or any baby shop for that matter. The place where i hired mine from last time gave me the name of one.

One of the places rang me back. I've booked one for $55 for 3 months. Does that seem reasonable?
Mel ...
There are around 4 places in Nowra/Bomaderry that are RTA approved fitting stations ...
Pembreys and Shoalhaven Mechanical (council run?) are the only ones i remember - ring the RTA and they will give you the full list.
I am putting mine in over the weekend probably - I want the kids to get used to sitting in different seats as I am putting mine behind the drivers seat as we have a huge 4WD and I don't want to have to lean over to the middle after a c/section.
I also have a friend with a 5mo. She can't drive due to cerebral palsy and I have missed being able to take her places with me - she is an amazing lady :flowerz:

I have put mine in. it is easier to put them in early so that it is one less thing to worry about and the other kids get used to seeing it there and leaving it alone.
Happy birthday to your daughter

Where do you hire capsules from?? We were given the one we used with DD, but it's not "safe" anymore (I deemed that)... Not overly sure about putting bub in the convertible just yet...
With DD, the seat went in the day we came home from hospital...

I'm not to sure where you can hire them from. Because my sister gave me hers.
I am going to try and put it in myself on the weekend and see if i can do it and then just get it checked, but if not i will have to get it installed.

Widget - have you tried googling it? There is a company in my local area that hires them and sends someone out to install them as well. There is another company that has franchises around Sydney - i'll see if i can find they're name.....

Hire for Baby is the company i was thinking of that has franchises. Look it up in google or yellow pages and see if there is one close by.
I hired the one i had for DS from Buy Buy Baby, but i did have it booked from about 5 months pregnant and got their last available one at the time.

You might have some luck through your council for hire too.
