Jaydensmum - I am so sorry to hear about your little girl, when I was growing up a close family friends little girl had 3rd degree burns and I remember how hard that was on her and her family. I hope she is feeling ok and not in to much pain...

only1mica - I have been given (today's anyway) a due date of the 5th July which is the day before my ds 2nd birthday - weird how it all works out hey.

Well back to me, I am in the world of the living again, well almost back to normal....

After being sick all week dh abused me and made me go to the drs and long story short I ended up needing to go to hospital to be put a drip for fluids and had an internal check of my cervix because I had alot of red blood but it was still closed thank god

I went to my ob today and say a bigger smudge on the screen with a heartbeat so I am soooooooooo relieved that all is well in there :smiliedance: they also said I can go back for a scan whenever i want to check so we are going back in 3 weeks to make sure it is growing well etc I cant wait!!!

I also booked my NT scan because of christmas and so far it is christmas eve - I am going to be so busy...

I cant believe it is all happening I am so excited and a little scared

Hi guys,

It was nice to see where everyone is at! Im nearly 23 and my partner is 29. We got a little suprise on the 28/09/07 when my very reliable monthly friend didnt turn up. We went to the doctors and he confirmed we were 4 weeks and 1 day pregnant, due on the 4th of July next year. Although it was a huge surprise, we couldnt be happier! We had talked a lot about having a baby, and i suppose it was supposed to happen sooner than later.

I've told all my family who are extactic, first grandchild on both sides, and first great grandchild to our 3 grandmas.

I look forward to getting to know everyone who is due at the same time next year. I live in Canberra, so July will be cold which I guess is a blessing for the preganancy!

I have been so sick already and struggling at work. I think people will start noticing soon!

Look forward to hearing from everyone, and best wishes! :)

Hi Ladies,

Just reading through all of your posts and feeling grateful that I'm not alone!! I guess I'm fretting a bit (after April '07 miscarriage) and feeling a bit fragile.

Had a blood test on Saturday (at 4wks and 2 days) and it came back at 380, which I'm told is within range for that time (they said 40 - 2000). Have to get another blood test on Wednesday to see how everything is going. We are booked in for a scan on 6th of Dec (when I am at 7 weeks). Both the blood test and scan seem an eternity away!!!! :hair:

No more spotting at all since Saturday morning (and only the slightest bit then), so I'm hoping we can safely put it down to implantation bleeding.

Trying hard not to worry, but not having any really major symptoms, only some low down aches and pains and lower back pain, and some smell sensitivity. I just don't FEEL pregnant!! :)

Anyone else in the same boat?

Wow so much has happened in here today!

Naomi i really hope dd is ok. My little brother got 3rd degree burns when he was 18 months old, there is barely any scaring at all. :hugs:

Hi and welcome to all the Newbies, looking forward to getting to know you all.

Had my dr appointment today. And now i a so confused?? I didnt want to have any un-necisary scans but she wants me to have a scan to confirm dates? Even though i was charting so i know how far along i am??
Also she has given me a referal for the Nuetral scan at 12 weeks, but i wasnt going to have this done either. Is everyone else haveing these scans done? Also what does everyone think? Should i have the scans done?

Sorry i know that was alot of questions.

Keenansmum so glad to hear you are feeling alot better this week.

Naomi, I hope your DD is going to be OK, lets us know how she goes.:hugs:

Hi and welcome to all the newies who have joined recently. I'm looking forward to chatting to you all more over the coming months.

Well I'm ready to go to bed :sleeping:I'm buggered. Talk to you all tomorrow

Hi Everyone

Kb if theres tests that you dont want done then you don't have to have them. Just tell the doc that you dont want them, they can't force you. If the doc suspects there's a problem then it would be wise to get checked but if they just want to do it because its the norm then you have every right to say no.

Love hugs and kisses

Good morning everyone. I'm 7 weeks today! :smiliedance:Still no more morning sickness since that one day of it. Don't have much appetite at dinner though.

Jaydensmum- hope your DD is ok :hugs:.

Nothing to report here really. Sometimes I don't feel pg either, but then I look down and see my bulging belly and remember how tired I am. I can't wait until I have a real baby bump and not just this bloated business.

Hey guys, I think its safe to say ms has finally kicked in :gloomy: I had a massive headache last night, was hungry but couldnt eat anything but toast and bickies or it made me feel sick and generaly felt a bit queezy. I think its actually a good sign coz last pregnancy when I had a mc this is about the time I was bleeding so I think this one is going to stick :smiliedance:

Jaydensmum - sorry to hear about your DD, hope she feels better soon, poor dear.

Hi Gals

I m new in this thread.Been for a while in TTC thread but finally landed up here
Wow!!!!!!!i m excited

I m due in july, not sure of the dates though coz i used to have haywire cycle. Is there anyway to know apart from dating scans which is done at 12 weeks.
I might be 4 according on the BD date.
Any clues???

fludo
20-11-2007, 03:19 PM
Welcome back Sun!. That's so exciting you are going for your scan tomorrow. Another 2 weeks to wait for me.

Alabama - do you know when you o'd? Because if you do, then you can subtract 2 weeks and use that as the date of your last period and then the calculator will work out the rest. I think you can have dating scans done earlier though - a lot of the girls in here have had scans already.

Only1mica: I feel exactly that way!!!! I was only saying to my DH how relaxed I have been feeling this time. Maybe its because we know we can do it, 'been there, done that'....

Its a relief, I was a basket case last pregnancy, for the whole time me and my DH would not go anywhere that was further than a 10 minute drive from the hospital.

Still suffering with MS, have my first hospital appointment tomorrow - I'll be pushing for a scan :fingerscrossed:

I feel heaps more relaxed this time. Maybe because this one was planned.

The ms is still pretty bad today. I drank a bottle of ginger beer with my toast this morning and it helped for a bit. I had a hot choccie today and it helped with the ms as well.

I am really tired, been at TAFE all day. i am going to go and lie down before DF gets home and i have to go to the inlaws for dinner.

Hi Kangaskippy, welcome!!!

moosmum
21-11-2007, 03:31 PM
Welcome kangaskippy!

Not much going on here - still no ms but really really tired by 3pm. Unfortunately DS doesn't have an afternoon sleep any more so no chance for a nap!

I think I am waaay more strung out about this pregnancy. First time around was a natural conception the first cycle we tried and I didn't know anyone who'd lost a baby or had problems falling pregnant. This time, I have seen so many of my friends go through miscarriages and it took us what seemed like an eternity and so much intervention from the fertility doctors to get pregnant that I am more aware of and worried about things that might go wrong. Hopefully all of the relaxed vibes you guys are emitting will rub off on me and I won't become a complete head case!

Good luck to all who have appointment and scans coming up!

I am back. Feels like I haven't chatted to you ladies in ages.

How are you all.

Sorry I haven't read all the posts, but have noticed there are alot of newbies. Congrats and look 4ward to getting to know you all.

I saw my gyno last Thursday and bubs heart rate was 135bpm (7 weeks 2 days), and he said all looked well, no bleeding around or in the sac, the discharge I had was unexplained but believes bubs is doing well. I am so pleased. I finally feel like I can breathe. He wants me to have another scan next week, just to keep my mind reassured, but everywhere is booked out.....

So the low heart rate he explained was not really low and he said anything over 100 he would have been happy with (bubs heart rate was 107 at 6 weeks 2 days). I guess I was more concerned because I have lost a twin at 109bpm and on the scan report it said the hr was slow.

Sometimes too much information can be damaging to your mind huh.

Thanks everyone for your support so far, and I must say I have really missed chatting after being away for the last 1.5 weeks.

Not sure when I will get to read back, so please fill me in on what I have missed.

Oh and I caught up with Tom's Melissa for dinner last night. It was lovely to meet her, we had a gr8 time with a squealing toddler LOL.!!!!

Forgot to tell you all about my new Car. Ohhh so nice........

Also forgot to say:

I am only home here till the 5th Dec and then off for the whole month and come home Boxing Day.

We go to Gin Gin/Bundaberg/Hervey Bay/Brisbane and then off to Mackay to Xmas.

I have so much to do b4 I go....... You can imagine the paperwork Wade left for me and I have to organise our staff xmas party!

Hopefully I will get more time to relax now, but I guess I should start getting some christmas shopping done:noel: and house cleaning before I put the Christmas decorations up :tree:

I am feeling good. No ms yet. Feel a bit sick every now and then but nothing to bad. I do get like period cramps about twice a day that lasts for about 1-2 minutes. Is anyone else getting these pains. Is it normal? I thought it may be my bladder pushing as it seems to ease as soon as I go to the toilet.

Hope you are all well and your little beans are settling in well. I have a scan in under two weeks now. I can wait. Will the first one be internal at 8 weeks? I can't wait to hear the heart beat.

Have a lovely day.

Hi there,

Thought I might pop in and say hello as we have just found out we are expecting number two on the 13th of July. Was a big surporise to DH and I as I haven't even had AF since before I was pregnant with DS. We are very excited now that we are used to the idea of having another little bub soon.

I have been extremely tired the last few weeks and have had all day sickness about every second day. No throwing up yet though so that is good. DS and I now both have colds so we are all a bit miserable at the moment!

Wishing you all the best for happy and healthy pregnancies....

shereejoy
22-11-2007, 08:15 AM
Alwaysonmymind - not sure, they shouldn't need too. I have only had internals done prior to 8 weeks but believe at 8 weeks they did a tummy one. Even at my gyno last week he was able to manage a scan on my tummy with a lot of force mind you, but it beats having an internal and that was at 7 weeks 2 days.

Welcome Will's mum - congrats and hope you have a fab pregnancy.

Hi Girls, have been reading everyones posts and i can see that everyone is experiencing extreme tiredness as am i.

I wanted to share a little tip to beat the tiredness that my naturopath got me onto.

Take spirilina tablets, you can buy them from a health food shop, they are completely safe to take during pregnancy. (ask at chemist if you would like to check for your own peice of mind)

I have been taking 6 each morning this week, and i am so seeing the difference.

Hi Girls,

Had my scan yesterday, Bubs is 7 weeks 2 days, spot on with my dates and has a healthy heart beat of 152bpm, which FS doctor said was excellent! such a good feeling to see that little heart beat fluttering !! I have my first obs appt tomorrow so excited about that too.

Hope everyone is feeling ok and not suffering too much :barf:

sunx

I'm also 7 weeks 2 days! (Well, haven't had a scan yet, but I'm pretty sure!). Glad to hear bub is doing great!

Hey Ladies,

Hope everyone has had a nice day.

DS has bee driving me batty all day, I have NO idea what his problem is today. Took him to see a friend this afternoon, only to have him totally embarrass me! Luckily she has a boy DS and understands *phew*

Waiting for him to go to bed and start another day LOL!

I got some good news this afternoon as well. Ive been accepted into the Gold Coast Birthing Unit. I have my own middie for the entire pregnancy, her mobile number and I get to meet her on the 17th December. So excited. This unit is separate from the Hospital, where I had a nice labour, not so nice maternity unit experience!

Im 8 weeks tomorrow :)

I think we should leave the boys with the dads and have a non alcoholic drink :p

The good thing about this birthing unit too is that they have huge spa/baths which you can give birth in. Something Im very keen to try!

Has anyone had any sharp lower abdominal pains? I just started feeling them early this morning. It's really low and on one side. It only lasts a second and it's not so bad I double over or anything.I read round ligament pains can feel like that but also read they aren't supposed to start before 2nd trimester?I'm hoping it's a bowel thing. Anyone had any problems like this?

shereejoy
23-11-2007, 10:41 AM
I have had that Fludo. Don't remember getting them until 14 weeks with Lachlan, but then I had them early my last pregnancy that I m/c too. I had these pains a few days b4 going to the gyno and all was confirmed good at the gyno, so guess I am just feeling these ligament pains early this time.

jaydensmum
23-11-2007, 10:43 AM
Fludo - it sounds like ligament pain. Your uterus is expanding and ligaments are soft so it causes some discomfort. Try not to worry about it too much, but if you are concerned just ask your dr. :hugs:

miamama - good luck with your scan today, i look forward in hearing about it. :)

Well not much happening for me. I had some bad nausea last night, in fact close to :barf:. I dont feel too bad today. I cant wait til i start feeling the baby move. With Alethea and Oceana i felt them at 11wks. I hope everyone is doing well! :hugs:

Hi

Fludo – I’ve had these pains too ………………I had my first Ob’s appt today and asked her about it and she said they were perfectly normal and just everything moving and stretching. Ob’s appt went well, the ob gave me a 2 mins dvd of bub !!! I wasn’t expecting that so very pleased !!

How’s everyone feeling ??

Thanks so much Shereejoy, Jaydensmum and Sun for your reassurance. I was really starting to worry. I feel kinda left out on my own as I don't have my first ob appointment for another week and a half, so if something does go wrong, I don't know where I'm supposed to go. I think it's really weird obs don't usually see you until that late. I know it's to wait for all those early m/c to happen, but you'd think we'd need some support during that time too! We also haven't told anyone so I don't have anyone to talk these things through. thanks girls.I'd add some cool smilies but for some reason my computer doesn't like the new ones. It puts all my writing into 1 paragraph too and I can't click anything on the screen - (enter head banging wall icon!).Oh, I see they don't have that one anymore!Miamama - good luck at your scan!Sun - that is sooo cool you got a DVD of bub!

I went to the healthfood shop today and seen what i could get for the ms, they gave me the blackmores ms relief tablets. Also they recommended drinking some peppermint tea. I brought some at the supermarket but havent started to drink it yet. I will let you know how it goes.
Today the ms started at lunch time. It seems to get worse around then and then last all night.
DS starts swimming lessons tomorrow, so i am hoping that i feel ok enough to swim with him. Also my mum is getting chrisco, and we are allowed to go shopping in her cupboards.

Alisonp
23-11-2007, 05:21 PM
Fludo I didn't have my first scan with my DD until I was 9 weeks. The reason why I got one earlier this time is because my cycle was so freakishly long this month (about 45 days...hence my little surprise ovulation and BFP) and they usually time the first OB visit and scan off your LMP.

Otherwise, I would have had to wait another 2 weeks also.

Usually they only scan early if you have had some bleeding or a history of miscarriage.

If something does go wrong you ring your OB and they will fit you in straight away!

fludo
23-11-2007, 06:28 PM
Thanks again girls. I think when the pains started today it all just started feeling more real. I cant' wait until the first appointment and scan are over and hopefully then I can relax again. What a journey we are on!

Hi all!!

The scan went well today, my dates were right and :baby: is due 17th.. Was so tiny!! 4mm, so bizarre, didnt have a scan this early with DD... Had a good heartbeat, 127bpm which I was really happy to see on the screen... You could see the tiny heart beating, just amazing!!:cloud9:

But the water drinking before the test was awful!!! With every mouthful I thought I was going to throw up and there was no way I could hold for 2 hours!!! More in my mind than anything else, all I could think about was how much water I had drunk and how long I had to wait before I could go!!! I havent been able to drink plain water much lately so it was just awful.. Poor DD was trying to help by squeezing the bottle for me!!!

Not much else to tell here, hope everyone is doing well.

Maia's Mummy

From everything i have read and also from my friends scare at the Hospital a fortnight ago, brown blood can be just left overs from implanation or last period. If you get red blood go to the Dr's but still dont panic cause even if there is red blood as long as theres no painfull cramping all should be fine.

Hope this helps. Im not the most knowledgable of bubhubbers. :D

I am in two minds about whether to tell DF.

Maia's Mummy
25-11-2007, 09:13 PM
mmm??? Up to you. but if it was me i would tell DF. Not to worry them, but just that they like to be informed and know whats going on with you and bub. I am positive everything will be fine.

My friend had very heavy red bleeding for 10 hours 2 weeks ago and she and bub are absolutely fine.

Take it easy tonight. At least if you tell DF he can get up to Will in the middle of the night and let you rest.

25-11-2007, 09:23 PM
Oh Libby as hard as it is, try not to worry honey. If you are 8 weeks, sometimes it can be because it is when af is due anyway. Also brown blood is def better then red but in saying that I had the worst bleeding with lachlan out out of all of my pregnancies - profuse red and clots - and he is a perfectly healthy 18mth old. I hope this helps to give you some reassurance. Def rest I know that, that was the only thing that helped things settle in Lachlan's pregnancy. I have brown discharged in all of my pregnancies so far except for the last twin pregnancy where I only discharged at 8ish weeks and it was stuff all. Big hugs to you and put your feet up ok.

Wy & Deeky
26-11-2007, 06:42 AM
Hey Libby,

I replied to your other thread there, I had the same thing at 6 weeks and it was the implantation bleed finally coming out. I didn't have cramping though.

TO be safe, I would get it checked out and in the mean time, try and rest, easier said than done I know with another little person around!

LJ

Hi Libby,

I also had a bleed on Friday - bright red, stringy blood. Too scared to go to the hospital to have it checked out at this stage. Since then it has turned into a very light, brown discharge. No cramping or anything and I still 'feel' pregnant, with MS still around. I am just taking it as a sign I need to take it REALLY easy. If it happens again I will head to the hospital to get it checked out. I have had bleedings with each of my pregnancy so hope it doesn't signal anything is wrong.

Pregnancy is stressful isn't it!!!!

m2be
26-11-2007, 07:05 AM
Hi Libby,

I understand completely how you are feeling, I have had some spotting too. Only a little bit, but still enough to make you worry. A couple of very nice ladies were kind enough to respond to my thread "worry over feint spotting" and it was enough to make me take a deep breath and just relax a bit - which I think might just be the key, as my spotting has slowed.

I would tell DF if I were you, I know mine wants to know everything so he can be supportive (bless him!).

It probably wouldn't hurt to discuss with your GP either - even if it is just to put your mind at rest. Mine has been testing my hCG levels regularly and that is helping me because then I can see proof that all is OK!

And to 34me - thanks for asking that question re the heartbeat, I have a scan next week (at 7 weeks) and I was curious too! Looks like we may have to wait until the scan after to hear something for sure!

Hope everyone else is happy and healthy!

Fi

shereejoy
26-11-2007, 08:17 AM
m2be and 34me - you can definitely get a heart beat at 6 weeks not 8 weeks as somebody mentioned. If it is not there and no fetal pole there normally indicates there is something wrong, that is what happened at my last pregnancy and had to have a curette. I have even had a heart beat at 5 weeks 4 days, so by 6 weeks you should def have a hb.

I am 9 weeks 2morrow and I should practice what I preach after telling Libby not to worry, I 2 have started discharging red last night, only when I wiped and has settled again this morning, turned to brown. But I am so upset and worried. Hard when you live an hour away from the hospital, and I can't get in for a scan it is all booked out, tried last week. Will ring today again and try, crossing fingers they put me in, I need to ease my mind. Easier to do an hour drive during the day with a toddler then at night. I am sick of never having an easy pregnancy. If this pregnancy is successful, this is the last one!! Even though I wanted one more, I am sick of this worry and drama that I always seem to have in all of my pregnancies so far!

m2be
26-11-2007, 08:39 AM
Thanks Shereejoy. I can't wait until next week now!! :fingerscrossed: we will hear something!!

For all of those who are really stressed and could use a hand relaxing, my GP has suggested "Rescue Remedy" which is a Bach Flower remedy and works on a vibrational level and apparently is quite good. I am going to get some today to try!

I have just gotten back from the hospy. I went to the local one here first and they checked me over and said that it doesnt sound like anything to major, but took my vitals and asked me my blood group. Once i had told them that i was a neg blood type, they suggested that i have the anti d injection, trouble was, they dont have it at my hospital (small country town), so i had to go to the next closest which is 20 mins away. Oncei got there the triage nurse checked my vitals again and my bp was low, 97/65. She said that it was nothing to alarmed about, and gave me the injection.
I have been told to take it very easy for the next 48 hours and if there is any more cramping, bleeding etc then i have to go straight back to the hospital.
I still feel pregnant, i still have nausea, no cramping atm and no spotting since last night. :fingerscrossed: it all settles down. I am now going to lie down on the lounge and watch cartoons all day with DS.

I just got back from my scan and bubs is doing really well. Heart rate was 176bpm. This has given me alot of confidence that bubs is doing so well with such a strong heart beat. So the bleed is unexplained, but has settled to brown now anyway.

Hi all:wave:

Willsmumma- Good to hear things seem to be improving for you:hugs: I would say a good rest is definately in order.

M2be- Goodluck with your scan! I can have another one before christmas I rang and asked today-yay!

shereejoy- I was just about to ask how your scan went when I noticed your reply. Good news!:smiliedance:and thanks for the scan advice.

Nanny_Leilz- Hi and welcome I have just started posting in this thread too, good luck for your scan on the 10th! Have you booked a hospital yet?

fludo- I am the same I just cant be bothered with anything lol.

kb- I had my bloods done last week, I still have a sore arm from it! Hope the results are good, Im sure they will be.

Honestly I barely feel pregnant lately. I am having a werid twingy pain on my left side of my uterus area, not sure what it is, hope its nothing.
I am sooo tired but I am waking up all night everynight. My boobs are settling down pain wise now and I have already got a maternity bra as my wire ones were making the pain worse :(
No more actual morning sickness just a little bit queasy occasionally.
You all are so much farther along than me lol I feel I have AGES to go!
We need to be able to use more smiley faces!

3 days til the scan!:smiliedance:

Take care everyone :hugs:

Thanks for all your kind words ladies. I spent the rest of the day lying on the lounge, it was really easy today as DS is sick as well, so we both just lounged around and really did nothing all day. We watched trashy tv and some cartoons. I feel a lot better this arvo.
My mum offered to take will tonight so that i can get some rest, but i told her that he is sick and that he may not want to stay. I still feel nausea, never thought i would be happy to have it, but it is definatly a good sign. No more cramps or spotting, so :fingerscrossed: it was just to keep me on my toes.

Sheree- congrats on the scan!!

So, starting my 9th week tomorrow according to their dates :)

ok ladies i need ur help k

well i didnt breastfeed paige coz it hurt lol wat a cry baby i am

but i wanna try with this 1 k so help me get motavated ladies i really reallly want to this time i didnt wait till my milk came in with paige i stopped after 2 days i was having so much trouble getting her on and no1 was helping me

Mandy - Good on you for wanting to give b/f a go with this bub. If it works breastfeeding is the most amazing thing. I feel so blessed to have been able to experience it especially since it was really difficult for me in the first month or so.

I think the best thing is to try and educate yourself about breastfeeding beforehand. Maybe buy a couple of books, or get some from your local library. Mine even had a video when I checked recently. The other thing is to tell everyone you want to try really hard to get breastfeeding working this time and to ask for their support.

There is help available too from the ABA (free) or from lactation consultants ($$$). My maternity hospital offered breastfeeding classes for a cost after bub was born and so did my local public hospital but those were free. You go in for the day and they help you with feeds to watch attachment etc.

Bubhub is also a great resouce. You only have to read the breastfeeding pages to see there is lots of passionate advice available.:hugs:

Libby, good to hear you are taking it easy :fingerscrossed:everything is going to be fine from now on.

Good luck to everyone with scans coming up, I'm not too sure when we will have our next one. I guess we will find out after our first hospital appt. on the 20th. I soooooo want to see our little bub again.

Beth, I too was talking to my doc and they are thinking of moving my due date to 30 June but won't know for sure until my next scan.:)

Well as for me, I actually got to eat brekky this morning :yelclap:I'm still feeling naseous all day and very tired. Also, I've noticed that my tummy is soooo itchy at the moment.

Mandy, i am in the same boat as you. I bf DS for 3 weeks, but he was just not getting enough, IMO. This time i am definatly bfing. I am looking forward to it soo much. This time i know that if i cant, then it isnt that bad, i know that i gave it the very shot that i could and there is no need to beat myself up over it.

Melissa- take it easy today, it is not worth putting your :baby: at risk to please others.

Had a horrible night with DS last night. He has a mouth full of ulcers. The poor little thing cant eat, it takes him ages to drink. He is in soo much pain, he wakes up because he has hit himself it mouth with his bottle. He was awake every couple of hours and just wanted me to hold his hand so he could go back to sleep.
I am feeling great, i picked at my dinner last night, the thought of it made me sick !!! I am going to go and have a late brekky, i feel like honey on toast!!

I had a scan today because of the pain I had and my uterus is empty :( She said I may not yet be 5 weeks and thats why there was no sac visible. I thought I was 5 weeks tomorrow but I guess my dates could be wrong? She couldnt see anything in my tubes but she said if I was 4 weeks and ectopic it would be too hard to see anyway. I had more blood taken results back tomorrow, we have to see if they go up from last thursday and I should wait a week or so for another scan.:(

Hi everyone,

I haven't had a chance to read through the last few days of posts properly, but congrats and welcome to all the newbies!

shereejoy and scarlett_jasper - congrats on your fantastic scan results - that is such good news and must be such a relief!

34me - hope you get a nice strong +ve with your next set of bloods!

All moving along OK here - had my first touch of ms over the weekend and I was mildly nauseous all day, but woke up feeling fine again today. After blood results at the FS yesterday, found out that I will have to keep on with the injections and progesterone until 12 weeks, so I am a bit down about that because I was hoping to be given the all clear after 7 week scan on Thursday. Small price to pay for a healthy bubby, but it is still tough to think that I have another 5 weeks of it!

keenansmummy
27-11-2007, 03:04 PM
1sttimemum2be - I was exactly the same a few weeks back and ended up going into hospital on a drip because i was so dehydrated and that made me feel so much better, actually stopped the vomiting (well the excessive vomiting)

the dr told me that once you get to a certain point of not eating or drinking the body has trouble accepting anything you put into it that is why i felt so good after the fluids...

it took about a week for me to be able to stand up and not pass out after my hospital visit...

I hope that they have a simple solution like that for you

take care.

Naomi, maybe you just have a big baby, apparently they are really taking into consideration genetics these days. That is what my sister was told when she went for a scan in Brissy and they are both very tall, so she is always measuring ahead now as baby is also tall.

jaydensmum
27-11-2007, 11:00 PM
Sheree - they do consider genetics for bigger babys towards the end but not the begining. In the begining the babys tend to grow at the same rate to the dates. So im just confused now! :)

Wy & Deeky

Ive been given three dates with this bub, now they are telling me at the birthing unit that 1st July is the date they are basing this pregnancy from now. We've all agreed though, it's baby's decision when to come. I was given 4 dates with Wyatt, and my dates that I worked out was the closet, all their dates were 3 weeks out

It's a confusing science LOL!

Thanks for the tip on the Xmas Ham Mel, It's going to be hard this year, everything being served I have to cook on the bbq, prawns, ham and chicken! Im making the salads this year as the pre packed stuff is off the list too!

Naomi, I think they are changing their ideas on it all. They actually told her that at her 8-9 week scan as the crown to rump was longer then 8-9 weeks but the leg buds were not matching to that gestation. She knows when she conceived, they only dtd twice, 2 nites in a row, so their baby's crown to rump was long. They are both very tall people.

Bring on the second trimester - enough of all of this all-day sickness!

shereejoy - my progesterone levels have fluctuated between 75 and 95 which is well within the normal range for 1st trimester, but the FS doesn't want to take any chances because it has taken so long to get to this point - which I understand, but it is still adding a bit of stress to the whole pregnancy!

jaydensmum - must have been so good to see bubby on the scan. So happy all is progessing well for you.

1sttimemumtobe - glad the malaxos did its thing and hope you are feeling 110% really soon.

Has anyone had their baby on the due date? DS definately had his own agenda and didn't listen to when he was supposed to arrive!

Hope they can help you out 1stTimeMum and Shell, I had little brown discharge at 6 weeks with this pregnancy, they explained that it was implantation blood letting go as your cervix is closed and it cant escape as easy. It was on and off for 2 weeks. I was concerned too, like you are. Do you have any cramping?

sshellzp
28-11-2007, 10:01 AM
Nope, no cramping. But I didnt have any cramping when I had a mc in the middle of the year either.

shereejoy
28-11-2007, 10:10 AM
1sttime - hope the hospital can help you.

Shell - I don't mean to alarm you, but I agree with you, they say m/c is cramping and bleeding and I have experienced every type of m/c now, once only brown blood, once nothing, lots of red and clots with lachlan (all was ok), brown and red with this one and all is ok. I could never m/c naturally hence why I guess i never cramped. I don't think we can 2nd guess our bodies, so if you are concerned go and get a referral for a scan. But in saying all of that I do believe generally brown is better then red and if you are around that 6 week mark then Beth is probably right that it is an implantation bleed. I had the same with this pregnancy at late 4 and all of the 5 week mark. Hope all is ok honey. I am sure it is.

I m going to my dr today. I m probably 7 weeks. not sure b'coz of my cycles so might go for dating scan. Can someone pls tell me is it same as an ultrasound, done abdominally/vaginally, where done in brisbane? and is it alright around this time?

Alabama - at 7 weeks they may only be able to do a vaginal scan, but you never know my gyno must have had a super dooper scanner and for the fact he pushed so god dam hard is why he could get it from the outside. Yes it is alright to have a scan at your stage. I had one at 6 weeks 2 days, 7 weeks and 9 weeks 2 days. Hope that is helpful. Not sure where in Brissy sorry, although I will be in Brissy on holidays around my nuchal scan and am going to the Mater.

We actually, we only planned on having Wyatt due to the PND I suffered when I had Wyatt. We only decided about 3 months ago that we wanted to give DS a playmate and felt ready to do it again.

I dont think I would have been strong enough to have the gap any closer, so when I see people with a small age gap, I think "Wow, good on them!, I have no idea how they do it!"

3.5 yrs will be a great gap for us :)

Good Luck Sweetdreams, try and relax hun. Let us know how you go.

Alabama, I have had 2 internals this pregnancy due to having a retroverted uterus (Tilts back), but with my first scan with DS at 6 weeks, they could see everything with a normal scan and a full bladder.

Good for you Beth.

I was so lucky not to get PND with Lachlan. Wade has such a positive influence on my life and I have a history of depression, so I am so surprised I didn't go there. Lachlan as a baby was really hard with severe reflux and feeding issues where we had to tube feed him for 2 mths when he was 5 months old. He refused my breast/bottle for so so long and it was such a fight! I was stressed to the eyeballs all the time, it was horrible.

Oh yep, Wyatt had bad reflux too and I think we managed to survive on 2 hours a day sleep maximum. Still have no idea how we managed to survive LOL! I also has the issues with Breastfeeding, and on top of that, the amount of guilt I recieved from people for not doing it past 2 weeks!

Depression is definately something I would not wish upon my worst enemy!

Well I was told by my CHN that I was border line, but she couldn't believe that I didn't have PND. But I am very very glad.

Did Wyatt ever have to have an endoscopy? We are at that stage of needing another one atm with weaning Losec and ensuring he doesn't have reflux anymore!

I hope our next babies are reflux free. I really don't feel like I could go through all that again.....

Oh and forgot to mention we still have feeding and sleeping issues with our child. It really never ends does it?

We were lucky enough that Wy didn't need one and could treat it without medical procedures. *phew*

We did spend a lot of nights sleeping belly to belly to help ease the pain of the burn on the poor little man.

Oh, Wyatt still doesn't sleep though.... maybe when he starts school?? Here's hoping

Ohhh you were meant to give me some hope Beth. Bugger. We wake up some nights 5-6 times, but on average 2-3 times. Hard to know what is going on alot of the time!

How often does Wyatt wake?

Lachlan also use to power vomit, especially when tube feeding him, he was in hospital over that 2 mth period as they thought something was seriously wrong - he had every test under the sun including a cat scan. It was like a tap you couldn't turn off, it was horrible. But I think it was because his reflux was playing up badly and we were over extending his belly, because when it got really bad he was drinking 10-20ml every 4 hours and then when tube feeding they extended that to 120ml and his little body just couldn't handle it. Lachlan is still only small at 9.3kgs at 18mths old.

Power vomit, brings back memories. Wyatt flooded our lounge room one night at 1am. That was a lovely thing to clean up. Poor little guy.

Sorry for busting your bubble hun :( Not my intention, sorry! :(

Wyatt will usually wake once a night now, fingers crossed he has been sleeping through this last week, but he's up at 5am! Sometimes he will wake for a drink or most times, it's becuase he's kicked the blankets off onto the floor.

Hi Guys

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. You've probably all forgotten who I am. I do log on every day to see how you guys are getting on but rarely get time to post anything with work being so hectic.

Anyway, I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and got another scan on Sat at the fertility clinic and then they will hopefully release me if all is still going well.

My sickness is pretty bad, worse in the afternoon. No actual vomiting but very very close!!!

Wanted to check with you guys if any of you are getting pains and twinges. I'm sure its normal as there is obviously a fair bit going on inside. When I roll over in bed its like a real stretchy pain inside that wakes me up and then today I have a stitch type pain on one side.

Maybe I'm just so paranoid with this being an IVF baby but would be great to get some reassurance.

Hope all well with everyone
Danielle x

Def normal Danielle, no wonder you are worried though. Gl with this pregnancy.

Beth - that was a regular occurance for us. 120ml would come all gushing back out at us.

Hi Ladies,

Just read through all the posts - OMG a lot happens when you miss a couple of days!!

34me, sounds like you've had a really topsy turvy couple of days, but sounds like you're on the upside of things now, so I will keep my :fingerscrossed: for you.

I am nervously awaiting the results of this mornings' blood test (hCG) after my spotting last week, however, I am feeling a little better as I haven't had any spotting for 2 days now. Still a few niggly pains, but I understand that these are part and parcel of pregnancy!!

Have been napping a lot, but have had no other real symptoms other than slightly tender boobs!!

Will let you all know how I go when the results are in.

Fi

PS. Happy Birthday to little Wyatt, just in case I don't get to log on tomorrow! happybirthday

Glad to hear everyone's scans are going well. I have a question for those of you who have had a transvaginal scan - does it feel similar to having a pap smear, or better or worse? Got mine booked for Monday!

Fludo, how far are you now? You may no need one? Vaginal ultrasound is no way near as bad as a papsmear. I would just say it is embarrasing!

WOW alot to reply to!

WyattsMama- Happy Birthday to Wyatt tomorrow Currumbin would be fantastic(Im jealous) I was wondering the same thing about ham too, I was really looking forward to it.

tomsmel-I have had the hugest cravings for seafood especially prawns and seafood extender(which I NEVER eat lol) wish we could have prawns...

1sttimemum2be- I hope you are feeling better and you get some relief from your sickness soon

jaydensmum-What an adorable little bubby! I cant wait til I get a proper picture. Maybe he or she did have a little growth spurt lol.

miamama- hope youre m/s has eased off a bit. I am jealous you get to have baked ham for christmas I want some:hissy: lol

moosmum- Good luck with your scan tomorrow, keep us posted.

sshellzp- Im sure everything will be fine:hugs:

alabama- How did your doctor appointment go?

SweetDreams- Hope all went well at the ob's

fingersx- goodluck for your scan saturday :)

jdc07- good luck for your scan on the 19th!

sheereejoy- thanks for reassuring me:hugs:

m2be- thank you too, how did your blood results go? Any news yet?

fludo- lol I think the vaginal scan is just very weird, I had no pain and only mild discomfort occasionally. I was a bit intimidated by how huge the wand was but she said its mostly the handle:laughing:

I am so exhausted I just cannot sleep lately. I ate a bag of toobs and strawberry milk for lunch today! So healthy I know lol. I counted back to when I most likely conceived and I think I am 5 weeks on friday(which would make sense with the levels etc) making me due on the 1st of August! I guess a scan will tell better. My periods are not very accurate to go off.

Hope everyone is having a good afternoon:hugs:

Well I think it felt better (no scraping sensation!!) but it made my legs cramp lol Maybe that was because I was uber anxious!

I'm measuring to date and a heart beat was observed. He told me m/c drops from 20% to 5% with a heart beat. I said the last one had a heart beat too :( Gawd I just gave myself a wave of panic just thinking that. :hissy: So sick of this panic sigh :banghead::mad::(

Wow you ladies can talk!!!

Well i went back to the docs today just for a check up.I had more spotting last night, but only when i wipe(TMI). The doctor said that i may have over done it and that i need to take it very easy for the next few weeks. He told me to have bed rest (yeah right with a 2 yr old). He also said no shopping, as it is too much walking.

I also got DS looked at and he has hand foot and mouth, :(. He is in soo much pain and all we can do is give him nurofen and teething gel.

happybirthday to Wyatt for tomorrow, if i dont log in. I hope you have a great day.

Kiralee- I hope everything went ok at the doctors today. :hugs:. You poor thing.

Sweetdreams - yay on the scan and bubs is doing well. I too have lost a heart beat, so nothing is a given huh. But hopefully for us this time it is......
