Hi girls,
Just wanting some help / advice re: babysitters.
We have a Christmas function on Sat 8 Dec & have no one to watch Heath ~ Family circle is limited.
Trouble is, We live in Canungra & I've no idea about care in the area & wouldn't know where to start.
Would love some recommendations if you can muster them?
PM me with ANY advise.
Thanks :hugs:
Hey Hun,
Just a thought, does Heath go to Daycare etc? If he does, maybe one of his carers are willing to look after him at your place after hours at an agreed rate? I know some Daycare's offer that.
I found this link for you too, might help :)

there are quite a few babysitter websites online.
Also Try Gold Coast BabySitters, I am a group leader at a kindy and quite a few of the girls there are registered through them. They are in the yellow pages I think.
Also ang if you mention to Heaths kindy teachers that your looking for a babysitter and ask them if anyone at the kindy does it you will probley find that there are quite a few.
Our kindy doesnt do it, but the individual carers/teachers do. IYKWIM
If you get stuck you can always bring him to my place, Jayden would love a little playmate! :)
Hello there
Try dial an angel. I used to work for them while caring for the elderly. nice bunch of people. They offer people for anything, and you will never get any one who dont know what they are doing.

I'd like to find some one that we can use again IYKWIM. Some one that Heath can get to know & get used to in his own environment.

Hi... I called dial an angel and gave it a miss because we wanted someone we could have every fortnight same day same time so we and the boys could build up a trust. They told me you basically get whoever is available on the day which didn't suit us at all.. Although as Nella said, Im sure they are all great but I didn't want different people thru the house who we didn't know.
I registered to findababysitter.com, u pay a one off fee (think it was around $35 for 3 months) u then have access to a database of sitters/nannies, you read their profiles and contact them direct, set up interviews and can hand pick someone who is right for u. You can also do a search by area so u may be able to get someone close to u.
i just made sure my criteria was to have a bluecard, first aid cert. childcare experience and refrences. After I checked and did the ring around I set up a play time to see how the person interacted with the boys.
I found the most beautiful babysitter (she's on holidays till Jan tho so Im missing her...lol) this way, and she's someone I never would have meet otherwise. totally recommend the service.
Sorry for the :ecomcity:

Thanks heaps for that, I need as much info as I can get.
Much appreciated!:hugs:
That's a shame that nobody at your daycare/kindy could do that.
My DS goes to school & DD goes to daycare - we have no family close by or anyone we could rely on for babysitting. Thankfully I did ask the carers personally if they knew of anyone in the area & DD's carer in the nursery is now our babysitter. We would be lost without her, she is just great & loves our children just like they love them :)
Good luck with it - it's a daunting task finding the right one, but I'm sure it will happen for you :) :fingerscrossed:
HAve you tried the bubhub directory? I've just done a quick search (http://www.bubhub.com.au/servicesnanniesqld.php#otherqld), check this page out. There are Gold Coast babysitters listed.
