My man and I have had a real rocky road with way more than our fair share of obstacles!
I wont get into details but we had just started to settle down, things were going great until one day i went to the shops with the kids and he stayed home.
When i got back home he was gone! His shoes were still by the door, his smokes and mobile still on back table!
I called everywhere loking for him but noone had seen him. A few hour later he called from police station saying he had been arrested for unpaid fines. They had a warrant and they just came and took him away as he was, not even letting him call or leave a note.
Anyway, the fines were from before we were together, he hadnt paid them and managed to rack up a huge $10grand debt!
He said that unless we had the cash, he would have to serve 3 months in jail!
This was a very difficult time for us as our baby was only 6 weeks old and we were broke.
Well he had to stay in there for just over 4 weeks and was only allowed 2 visits a week so i went in with our baby and my oher son stayed with a family member as we told him Daddy was just away at work, he is nearly 5 and i didnt want him knowing about a place like that.
So i went to see him the first time, it was really scary going there and it was hard seeing my man in there.
He burst into tears as soon as he saw us, we were allowed to hug and kiss but then had to sit opposite each other at a table in the visit room with all the other prisoners and thier visitos and the guards who paced the room watching everyone.
He was so happy to see us, we were both emotional. He took my hand and asked if i would marry him when he gets out!
It was totally unexpected, i wasnt sure what to say at first or if he meant it but he assured me that he meant i and he wanted to know i would be his wife when he got home!
Its what got us through, even though it was only a month it felt like a year and it was hard for me being home with the kids while he was stuck in that horrible place.
I tried everything to raise the money and bail him out, i had about grand and my little sister ended up applying for a loan in her name for us for the rest of the money. (we are paying the loan, its just in her name coz i couldnt get one)
So now he is home and we have a wedding to plan!:hugs:
