Bashed up by my baby

Hi Everyone,

I had to escape.. I need some recovery time. :eek: My sweet sweet boy is bashing me up!! LOL!!! He is 6 mo and can turn into a tiger in a second. :D My shoulders and neck and face have red marks on them, and I have tiny cuts (now scabs) on my neck - all from my baby's fingernails. I tried to cut them. but there is nothing to cut. He must have retractable claws! LOL!! It really is very cute. He gives me a great big kiss on my cheek (and then digs the claws in).

Anyone else been wounded by their bub?

Yup me too. Now at 12 months it has calmed down though, I haven't had any scratches or bites for a few months now. At least when they get a bit older you can start teaching them not to :)

I do get a few head knocks though....right in the collarbone! :eek: And pulled hair. I also got a busted lip the other day...dont' remember how, but it bled! Ouchies.

Oh well. As long as he doesn't take to beating me up when he grows up, it will be fine. :)

Len, I can totally relate. My 6 mth old has some very sharp nails (even after I've clipped them and filed them down, when she lets me) - if she's not scratching herself, then its me especially my face, neck and hands - she just has not idea how much it hurts!!:( Also ferocious thrashing with her arms and legs - I've been punched and kicked lots of times, it hurts and I've even had some bruises!!:crying: She also has learnt how to pinch, mainly my wrist and hand and don't even get me started on the hairpulling and ear ring pulling!!:shame:

And to think she is the sweet gentle one of our mums & bubs group!! She has the cutest smile, laugh and gives the sweetest sloppiest kisses!!:kiss:

Yep ive been a beaten mama for some time now !
I often get head butted OUCH ! :(
He especially likes to slap me if he cant get his way so ive now learnt to make sure i put him well away from me when im trying to stop him from playing with power cords etc.

Yeah, I get beaten up too by my DD. She gave me a bloody nose the other day. She shoved her finger right up into the nostril and I was pouring blood for about an hour. I was really sore, but she thought it was hilarious.

She also grabs the skin around my collar bone and pulls, scratching and hurting. I tell her a stern no and she laughs at me. I even pretended to cry once and she thought it was the funniest thing she had ever seen.

Do they grow out of this? I would hate for her to be beating up all the other children. I don't want a bully!!

I get smacked on the face and fingers forced into my mouth and scraped around while feeding. He's also pretty adept at twisting the skin on my neck (and its not that saggy!!!!!). But the funniest thing is watching him grab dad's ear and twist or sticking a sharp little finger up his nostril. OOOH I am a mean wife aren't I.

I too have tried saying no, but alas he is still a baby so I don't seem to have much success. Giggling outrageously or wimpering probably undermines my credibility somewhat too...

Can totally relate. My DS was jumping around on our bed this morning being oh so cute :smiliedance: when he jumped right on top of me and kneed me in the belly (I'm 10 weeks pregnant) my reflexes got the better of me and I screamed & pushed him off me, not hard but I scared the poor little thing and he started crying:crying: . I felt so bad. A few little kisses :kiss: and he was back to his joyful laughing self:laughing: . So cute but I hope he hasn't done any damage.

When Amelia gets upset and her little arms get that frustrated jerky movement happening she tends to grab at the little hairs on your arms and pinch with her fists....if that makes sense???? It bloody hurts!!! She also does this to DH chest hairs... hehehe :laughing: but thats funny.... :laughing:
