Does anyone know whether too much computer use by a pregnant woman is harmful for the baby? Even in slight ways?

Hi Rainbow

I remember reading AGES ago a study on radiation from computer monitor screens saying that provided your are about 1 m from the screen there is no danger. This was for the general public (not preggie ladies), it was trying to determine what size cubicles needed to be to ensure that people would be safe (also that was 12 YEARS ago and I'm sure that newer monitors have LOWER radiation levels - and an LCD or flat screen has much lower radiation levels again than a cathode ray tube screen).

I would have thought that if there was a serious problem, we would all know about it. I worked at a computer all day during both pg with no problems (just not good for my eyesight :p ).

Cheers

I dont know much about puters (I do well to access the internet regularly :) ) - but I have become fairly paranoid about my mobile phone??? does anyone know anything about dangers with them either?

I used to keep it in my pants pocket regularly (if at work etc) - now I think that is probably too close to bubs???? any ideas??? or am I just a paranoid freak????

I started carring my phone in my bag instead of my pocket when pregnant. I don't know if it made a difference, but it made me feel better.

I wouldn't worry too much about the computer. I guess the smog we breathe in is probably heaps worse anyway.

Goodluck with your pregnancy.
