Hi all,
After spending many hours/weeks reading all the different forum topics I have found the time to actually register. This site has been soooooo helpful. I live with my 7 week old bub Jack and hubby in a fairly remote village on mid north coast so i have relied on all the postings for info- especially reassuring at times.
Look forward to posting
amy :)
Hi Amy,
I just saw your message and had to reply! I also have a little boy called Jack! He is 18 days old (2 and a bit weeks). He is such a good little boy, very placid and easy going - he is sleeping next to me in his pusher at the moment! I live in SA with my husband and Jack, I'm 29 and Jack is our first baby. My pregnancy was really good, his birth was a bit hairy - went for 24 hours and hurt alot!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How was your birth? What is your little boy like? Everyone says my Jack looks like my hubby, which he does, very much so but he changes everyday and I think is now starting to look a bit like me too! Are you breast feeding or bottle feeding? Jack had trouble feeding, so we had to put him on the bottle, pity as I had lots of milk but he is now doing fine and putting on lots of weight. I am now a stay at home mum after working in child care, not sure when I will go back to work.
Would love to chat if you want, I was on this site a fair bit while I was pregnant, it is good.
Hope to chat soon!
Cheers Belinda and Jack :)
hey belinda,
firstly thankyou soo much for your reply, i needed it- had a long day!! my normally calm baby had his first unsettled crying, a mum cant fix it day.
jack is a gorgeous baby, my husband matt and i's first bub. from reading others postings i think we have a gem, until today he has been a bub who spends most of the day awake but not unhappy. He's now starting to look around alot more and is also talking, well oo'ing and aaa'ing.
labour was not so good. i was booked into the birth centre at RNSH (sydney) and although i was aiming for drug free I had checked to see if it would be okay if i changed my mind during it. labour started on tuesday night (after Rove), very mild, and i finally went to hospital the friday morning (5cm dilated). they said i'd have Jack by lunch, but by 2pm no Jack and I was begging for an epidural- midwives said no. At 4pm the doctors were called, and as my contractions had stopped and Jack was stuck i was given epi, induced and he was vacuumed out. But I'm already planning the next one.
Jack is tongue tied which made feeding hard but we have got there. He was feeding every 2/1/2 hrs so I express so I can sleep the first half of night. Now he grazes during the day but is okay at night- sleeps 6pm to 11pm then again 4am (roughly). We also use formula for the odd feed- its made life easier at times.
I read Babylove by Robin Barker, but have stopped now and just do what works for us- demand feed, pop him in our bed at times, let him fall asleep however...
I know this is a long one, but I havent started mothers group yet, thats in a week, and where I live, well its a fishing village with a tiny population and the others are either men or elderly!!
well, J's just woken from yet another 20minute sleep today, overtired baby, ggrrr. It's been good to chat :)
amy and jack
