Has anyone tried the lay down technique that is recommended by Tizzie Hall in saveoursleep.com.au for 9 mths plus?

Hi,

I couldn't help but be eager to respond to your post. This was the ONLY information which offered step by step techniques......we followed them, consistently, and we got an amazing result. We started at 12 months with our daughter who was still being wrapped (and couldn't sleep any other way), it took us a good 7 days to get it down pat, i.e. that she fell asleep with minimal fuss and laying down. The first day sleep on the saturday that we started, my husband drew the short straw as I couldn't stand to see or hear her cry while we did the new technique, he put her down 70 times before she fell asleep....and from there 60, 50, 40 and so on. I loved the technique, because we are not pro-CC, so the idea of staying int he room until she fell /falls asleep suits us, as she would spend more time and energy on crying out for us. Now she is 17 months (soon) and sleep times are strict (but they work)...ie. last night 6.40pm milk, and 7.00pm she was begging to be put in her cot....and she woke us at 7.00am this morn...this is the norm with her, out side of teething/colds etc....so YES we loved it and would love to tell the world about it.

We used the same technique for our DD when she was about 11 mths old but got our advice from Tracey Hogg the Baby Whisperer.

As Maria said the first few times are rough but it does work and I think its great. DD now goes to sleep on her own with me (but DH sits with her still at night ...his choice).

We found it much better than CC as we couldn't cope with that and this allows us a quick cuddle and to talk to her softly if needed.

Good luck, its worth the effort. But make sure you and hubby are prepared for a few rough starts. As long as you expect it, it makes it easier to cope.
