Hello lovelies,

I couldn't really work out where to put this, so I put it here.

Little dude is going into the RBCH at the end of next month for day surgery. The surgery will be performed by Dr Ong. I met with Dr Ong today, and was really pleased with him, he came across as knowledgeable and was very easy to talk to. The registrar also reassured me that the paediatric team at the RBCH were top notch in their field...

I am blathering a bit here I know, I guess I want to ask if anyone has had dealings with the RBCH or Dr Ong, and what they thought of them. I know I want the best for the dude, but how do you find out who the best is?

End of blather,

Thanks.

My little brother was in there at the beginning of last year for about a week. It took us about 3 days of visiting the emergency section there before they found out what was wrong with my brother. Most of the nursing staff were nice but everyone who put his drips in were horrible. it took them 3 goes once to get a drip in and he was screaming for them to stop and they werent very nice to mum and i when they did it too. but other than that they were really good and they were awesome when my sister was in there when she was a baby.

My adopted daughter was admitted to the Brisbane Royal Childrens Hospital in September last year. She was in there for 9 weeks and I have to say that the doctors and nursing staff were fantastic.. They pay so much attention to the kids in here. We still go to the RCH every couple of weeks and when we visit the nursing staff that looked after her while she was in there, they always have time to greet and chat to my little 4 year old... Thumbs up  for the Brisbane's Children's Hospital....

Ozzy was part of the hearing program their for babies and kids. And the staff their were fantastic. They explained any procedures and the appointments were always to suit me! For the early tests he had to be asleep and they were so patient and waited 3 hours for him to finally doze off! Even staying past their clock off time just to finish the tests!

Hi.......we have a son, 22 months old , with a rare brain condition and we have been dealing with the Royal Childrens Hospital since he was 10 weeks old. It is our home away from home and it is the most wonderful place. It is full of wonderful caring Angels who go well beyond the call of duty. We have had dealings (and continue to) with heaps of areas...Neurology, Paediatrics, Physio, Eyes, Hearing, OT, Speech...etc. We have not had one bad dealing or found anything at all we can complain about. the Nurses are just beautiful...even down to the cleaners and the canteen staff....they are really all just wonderful special people. They also have the best doctors and care around. William has had hundreds of drips and blood taken and they have all been great and dealt with him wonderfully. Please be assured that you are going to a wonderful place and that your little dude will be very well cared for. I hope I have been able to give you some peace of mind.

Take care of you and little dude.
