Just wondering if I can put a microfleece liner in Olivias disposable nappy at night. I think a wet nappy wakes her up, I do change it throughout the night, however, I think she is sensitive to a wet bum, I know I would be.

Yeah I'd say go for it! I used the chux-type throwaway liners in Vallerie's nappies sometimes, only because I didn't know about the wonders of microfleece back then!!

Sure id say there would be no probs either but can i ask why your choosing not to use a cloth nappy at nite also ? Sorry not being rude just curious cause i know you have just changed over :hugs:
We do cloth during the day and disposable at night or if we go out. More at night because he sleeps better...

I totally understand that if thats what makes your life easier go for it :D
Was just seeing if maybe a different type of nappy for nite may be more helpful or the likes.
As bubs just goes straight through a normal cloth so there is no way we could use them so im glad we have invested in pocket nappies as when boosted correctly ( which takes a few goes to get it right LOL ) should go for a good 12hrs :fingerscrossed: :D

Allyoo, you have a great memory. I haven't got my cloths yet. Still waiting on them to arrive. So in the meantime thought I might try lining her disposables to see how we go. We are having sleeping issues, have been for about 3 months now and its getting on top of me, so I thought I would see if this makes a difference.

I can't see why not....but if you have a terry towel (or a flanette bunny rug), why don't you try folding them and put a microfleece liner on top and see how it works. I do this sometime when I run out of nappies (forgot to do laundry for instance  ). It works fine although I have to get up during the night to change my bub (I have to get up and feed her anyway so it doesn't bother me) because it's not as absorbent as good fitted nappies, but her bum is still dry.
Good luck and good on you for trying cloth  You'll love them I'm sure.

Aaah ok yep i know what thats like !
Im waiting on my next batch to be sent out this Friday so i can have 3 days worth yayaya :smiliedance: :D
Yeah give the liner a go it wont hurt !
Try a microfleece like a polar fleece ( NOT microfibre as this is what you use as a booster so sucks in all liquid so is bad against bubs skin ) as these fabrics hate being wet so will take it straight to the nappy & keep bubs bum dry :D
At least you can use them if you wish when you receive you clothies !
Oh & btw you can grab the fabric really cheap at Spotlight or Lincraft & all you need do is cut it to the size your need as the fabric doesnt fray so NO hemming required ! I even got some at BigW from their remnants pile really cheap so i have enough to make up liners for my nappies & also a new blankie for bubs :D
Good luck !
Allyoo, what are pocket nappies? We only have regular cloth... if there is something better available I'd love to give it a go!
Ok so here is stupid ol me again:banghead: I'm not quite with it today, so the whole booster thing, is it just like using a nappy liner?? Could I use that kind of thing with a regular cloth nappy?
Pleas someone explain it to me I can't quite get my head around it today... I need another coffee:crying:

This site is an AWESOME resource for cloth nappy users...
What is a booster?
http://www.ozclothnappies.org/info.html#booster
Re other types of nappies around, have a look at the rest of the FAQs at www.ozclothnappies.org and see what you can find out. There are pocket, pouch, fitted, All in One nappies and some great covers around. OzCloth is a great place to start.
Pocket nappies, to answer your question, are a nappy where there is a cover and a liner sewn together to make a pocket. Then you put absorbent fabrics into the pocket and you have your nappy. Very Very easy. So, as an example, you could get a pocket nappy - like a www.greenkids.com.au or www.sandrasstuffables.com.au and put a rectangular folded terry square in it and pop the nappy on. No fancy folding, all the absorbent bit in the place it is needed. Very convenient.
Thanks for the info I'm going to check it out now!!

I do this sometime when I run out of nappies (forgot to do laundry for instance  ).
Or perhaps too busy on the bub hub to do the laundry... :ecomcity:
At least, that's usually my problem :D
