My DS has just gone 7 months and everytime he reaches a month milestone I am just in awe of how quickly he is growing!!
I am already preparing myself for the big 1st birthday!!
Btw well done on your first year! I think it is quite an achievement myself!! :smiliedance:
Wow, time does fly when you have a bub :) Are you having a party for him?
Your post actually made me realise how close my DS birthday is....he turns 3 on March 22  Better get the birthday cake book out soon:p

Yep we are having a big birthday party with family & friends along with his blessing ceremony next Saturday !
Mind you we still havent organised the food etc LOL
Tis ok as we will be doing a lot ourselves !
Still trying to decide whether $90 for a cake is too extreme :o
My DD is also turning the big 1 soon (14/03/2006) & I too am having trouble coming to terms with it, don't get me wrong I love her & all that she is today but I still miss the little bundle that would love to be cuddled & who you could hold for more than 2 seconds at a time. Now she is a big girl, Liv only wants cuddles when going to bed or is upset & even then its hurry up mum, there are things to see & ppl to see & stuff to get into to. Although with her growing up have come some amazing things to like kisses & waves, being called mummy & sung to & of course having her run to the door to greet me is always pretty special. Ahhh, I don't feel quite as sad now.:yelclap:

Yup I would hate to say it Ally but time flies. I remember when my firstborn turned one...AND NOW HES 24 :o
sniff sniff...
 $90 for a cake:eek: It'd wanna be the worlds greatest cake for that price...I'm glad I can make cakes, and if I get stuck there's always mum to help, I can't imagine paying that much just for a cake.
Hope you have fun with his party...just make sure you have more than you and DH to do everything otherwise you'll end up stressing all day and wont have time to enjoy yourself and spend time with bub:)

LOL im lazy :o
I could make it i suppose but i want it to look a certain way actually maybe you could help (?) what icing can i use to make it look like the icing of wedding cake IYKWIM its not marzipan but has that look ?
Its sooooo gorgeous it is square with blue icing with bears playing on top with his name in icing at the bottom with a few more iced decorations but its a caramel mud for 30 people thus making it pricey !
Sorry, can't help with the icing question, mum would probly know but shes at work...
That cake sounds beautiful...and yummy too...can I come to the party?:D I love mud cakes, but haven't had the time, or energy, to make one for years, maybe when both my bubs are in school I'l get around to it again :p

Oh darn what use are you then ;) :p
Hehehehe everyone always likes the mud cakes !
I wasnt even going to get one as im not a fan but as everyone has pointed out its not just me eating it
We had a white choc mudcake for our wedding & the icing on it looked smooth like marzipan but was actually white chocolate icing, maybe thats what they will put on your cake? Just a thought.
But you are the mummy, it should be a cake that you like too...after all, you have done all the hard work over the past year, not grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc...
Are you gonna let bub have some cake too? I bet he wont be too fussed on mudcake.
