Was thinking of having a meet on Friday - 23rd - morning sometime..

we will be happy to come along just tell us when and where and we will try to make it...
whats the play center like at kamba??

The kambah one is bigger inside - it has a baby and older kid section, but Kids Rampage is prob better suited for the younger bubs. I've only been to kids city once - so can't remember what the baby section is like there.
TBH although I've found the Kambah one good mostly - last time I had a hot choc there it was really :barf: I think the cafes are better else where.. but maybe that was a once off..
Maybe we can just stick with Kids Rampage this time, then maybe some other time we can venture nth end to Kids City - I know N would like the cars again and C loved the slide.

We should be able to make it, I'll let you know closer to the day.
I'm really keen to get outside and do stuff though, something that doesn't necessarily cost a lot of money. Not that the playcentres are expensive, but they still cost money, YKWIM.
Anyone else up for a play date in a park or picnic ground or something like that? Now that the weather is nice and sunny again, it would be good to get out and enjoy the sunshine.

I understand - I'd like to get outdoors and somewhere without expense too. Trouble is finding somewhere accessible to all and if outdoors - having some shaded areas as it is getting quite hot (for young skin) - we'd also have to meet earlier to beat the midday sun. Do you know anywhere good? Does anyone have any suggestions? I like Fadden Pines - but not sure that everyone can get there. Does anyone know if there is shady areas at Tuggeranong Town Park?
Kim - I'll ask DH to have a look at my car this wkend and see if we can squeeze another seat in the back - from looking I don't think one will fit but can only try..
ETA - so shall we keep it for Kids Rampage this time and try a park next then?

Yeah, shade is the big thing I suppose. Very important to have somewhere shaded for the littlies (and us big girls as well!) to play. I don't really know any meeting places yet, I need to get out and explore some more.
Canberramomma had some good suggestions for meeting places on the north side of town...are you around to suggest something Sally? I guess that's the other thing though, accessability.
Maybe we can try and start to organise something more regularly - one fortnight on the south side of town, the next fortnight the north, and we can maybe alternate between parks and playcentres too or something. Or if the weather sucks for a park meet, meet at a playcentre or something....I don't know:laughing: I'm just rambling.
I know I'd like to get together more often, and I don't mind travelling to the south side occassionally, but it would be nice if sometimes we could meet more centrally or on this side of town too. I just want some adult company. And for Isaac to make his own little posse of friends too of course!
Not sure yet about Tuesday. Will talk to DH tomorrow when he gets home and let you know.

i can do weekends and nights, its just a matter of advanced organizing, we still need to have a mummy bubby and daddy weekend meet i think!!
sounds good Bec, we just need to pick out some good spots on both sides.
i'll try check out some parks around this area in the next couple of weeks and see whats around and whats good.

AlishasMum - I PM'd you :)
So is everyone happy for Kids Rampage on Tuesday? Or do we want to try a park? - I think thunderstorms are forecast for the nxt few days though.. let me know what u guys are thinking..
I looked up parks and found this one - looks good - its a mushroom playground at Belco markets - has anyone ever been there?
Towering above a terrific adventure playground is a giant yellow, pink and blue mushroom, a Sunsmart initiative of the Belconnen Markets, supported by the ACT Cancer Society. Our giant mushroom playground is six metres tall with a diameter of 15.6 metres covering a total area of 190 square metres, providing shade and cover from the rain so your kids can play all year around. There are benches for parents inside the playground, as well as public toilets and baby change rooms just next door.
it might be good for a nth side meet..

We can't make it:no: Isaac is sick again, and I don't want to make anyone else's little ones sick, so we're confined to the house for the next couple of days until he finally gets over this cold/flu/cough thing my dad so kindly gave to him before he went back to QLD:rolleyes:
Karen I'll go and check out the play facilities at the Belco markets this week. I've been to the markets plenty of times, and never stopped to look at the play facilities before - too busy trying to get in and out:o I'll let you guys know how it looks after I've checked it out.
Have a good day tomorrow.
