My little man had his first needles this morning:( i know it had to be done but it was the hardest thing to watch. seeing him scream like he did made me cry.:crying:
But now this afternoon, he doesn't want to leave my side. i can't seem to get him to sleep unles he's in my arms, or layin next to me. as soon as i put him in his bassinet or move from next to him, it's like he sences it, he wakes strait up and screams for me. i feel so sorry for him. i'm guessing he's gonna be sleeping with us tonight lol:rolleyes: :p
did any one else have this problem. or does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanx

Sometimes the needles can make them feel a little off for a day or two.
Let him sleep with you tonight and give him all the cuddles he needs:hugs:
lots of cuddles and sleep works well for us, and then all is fine within a day or so :)
:hugs:
My dd had her needles last week in the afternoon which was not nice to watch. After we finished we went home and I gave dd a bath and her bottle and she had a big sleep. Later that night when she woke up she had a little temp so i gave her some baby panadol to help. DD had been sleeping through the night but for the next two nights she woke up and had a bottle.
The dr said she could be grizzly for 24-48 hours. I would just give ds lots of cuddles and let him sleep with you if it lets you get some sleep.

Our DD is nearly due for her 4 month immunisation... I cried last time too!
It's almost expected that bubs will be grizzly after their injections. Afterall, immunisation works by having a small amount of the virus injected into their bodies so that they can build up anti-bodies to counteract the virus. Their little bodies are working hard to do this.
Our doctor said that people often give their baby a dose of panadol half an hour before coming to the surgery to help reduce the symptoms after the injection. Unfortunately he told us that after we arrived at the surgery  So maybe you could keep that in mind for next time...
So the best thing to do is cuddle them and just ride it out. They will usually be better after 24-48 hours, but if they're really distressed, a dose of panadol can help everyone get a better night's sleep.
Hoping your bub settles soon...
PS - they used to have to have FOUR injections instead of just two!
PPS - think how bad the doctor must feel...:crying:

Hi there,
I refuse to hold my DS when he gets his needles cause then I'm his saviour with cuddles afterwards.
I found panadol and lots of cuddles help. Sometimes if he is a bit tender, i'd put him in a warm bath and move his legs around, or even just a warm washer over his legs.
Good luck. Hope he is feeling himself soon.

Lots of kisses & cuddles are in order as is some panadol or the likes.
Another good thing is you may find the wound site become a little hard lump or even red & hot so just use a cold face washer over it to help reduce the swelling.
Bubs will be a little grumpy or "off" for a couple of days but as long as that doesnt mean not having any milk or becoming limp or very unlike himself then dont stress all will be fine :D
Remember you have made a good decision for your baby & his future
