Hi
My baby used to vomit heaps aswell even after burping. Doc said it was becuase the distance between he mouth and stomach is so short at the moment and the muscle that keeps the food in his tummy is not developed yet, so the milk kinda moves up and down between his mouth and stomach. i try to keep my baby upright but as you said it does not always help and he vomits anyway. i couldn't really find a solution.... but I found that it got better once he was 8 weeks old, now i just get the occasional dribble of vomit...
Are you breastfeeding? My DD is nearly 3 weeks and sometimes she overfeeds and it bubbles up through her nose. I don't think it is a problem. I was talking to my sister and she told me to make sure I only feed 10 minutes max on each boob. Since then I've had less problems unless I'm distracted while feeding and forget. Talk to the ABA. By the way you can't overfeed a baby on BF as they barf it up.

Does he have pain? Reflux can include vomiting without pain, but in my experience pain usually does accompany the vomiting. He could be a happy chucker - lots of vomiting without pain. How is his weight gain? What is his behaviour when he feeds? Does he arch his back or seem scared of the bottle/breast?
thaxx to all of u fr ur response!!!

it does not seem tht he hs pain!!! his gain is fine!! and he is not scared of breast even it seems tht he loves sucking!!! might b tht i overfeed him! because sometimes i need to feed him in very rregular manner according to his demand!!sometimes even after 40 -60 min! because sometimes he sleeps between feeding and it becomes hard to wake him up and feed!! so he again feels hungry after sometime and i feed him!!!!!!!!!!!
i gen feed him lying on bed..and he genrly sleeps after feed.wht i found tht if i dont move him frm fr burping he does not vomit immidiately, means if i keep him in sidde lying postn,he does not vomit immidiately, but if i move him frm tht postn to burp and then put him back in bed, he immidiately vommits..
but one ting touch wood, he does not seem to be sick or anything!!

My DD is doing the same thing. She doesn't vomit after everyfeed but she does overfeed sometimes. I just feed her again after she has vomited and she is fine. She too, is not in any pain. Her eyes are bigger than her stomach. She just likes to comfort suck a lot of the time. You could try and introduce a dummy if you wanted, both of my kids prefer the boob to the dummy.

Sorry to but in, but check out the reflux section. Sounds like you might have a happy chucker on your hands! DS is almost 9months and still vomitting heaps after each feed, but as with your bubs, no pain, great weight gain, just heaps of mess. He wears 3bibs to help soak it all up, but it's slowly getting better with the help of a chiropractor.
