I have a friend who spent heaps of $ on BBB's but her lil boy (1yr) always breaks out in nappy rash whenever she uses them. She changes them regularly and has tried using then with nappy liners and tried to treat the nappy rash with zinc cream and paw paw ointment. Is there anything else she can try so she can use her BBB's without her lil man breaking out in nappy rash? :detective:

Does her DS get a rash with other MCN's as well? Could it be her washing powder?

Maybe try and strip wash and see how she goes. Sorry, I don't have any other suggestions.

Has she had the rash checked out by a doctor incase its fungal ? This could be the reason it wont clear.

He could also be reacting to the washing powder/liquid she uses or even the liners.

Ummmmm let me think ....

I guess i can only suggest having the rash checked out & possibly doing a strip wash like the pp suggested. How does she wash & dry them ?

Another cream to try which works wonders for us is Brauers Nappy Rash cream. Its totally natural isnt greasy & i find it works almost immediately with any rash we have had. Another option is boob juice then some air time & making sure she makes the changes in regards to washing.

I had the same problem with DD. It would start off normal nappy rash and then end up fungal. Evil stuff.

I ended up ditching the cloth nappies (yes, I know - a source of shame) .... and never had the problem again.

I'd try a strip wash first.

And then a rinse with Canestan rinse.

And see how he goes. Some bubs just can't were certain fabrics, just like us adults :)
