Hey Everyone!! Well I am 7.4 weeks today (still very early) and I have a major loss of appetite. I can't eat ANYWHERE near what I used to be able to eat! (which is probably a good thing), but it just makes me feel sick. I cooked two pieces of toast for breakfast this morning and I can only eat half 1, and that was pushing it. Its a push to eat lunch and dinner too, but if I dont feel something I feel so sick. Is this normal!? If so, when does it pass? Does it at all?
Sorry for all the questions.... its just so annoying :hair:
Any of you the same?

i had this with DD and again this time, i think it is very normal to go off food for a few days, but i found i didn't even feel like drinking either this time, so i bought some icy poles, they seemed to rehydrate me a bit and put something in my stomach.
just try and eat little things, i found dry crackers were good as they don't have much flavor.
hope it goes away soon for you it's an awful feeling.

Mandiii20: I know how you feel. I didn't have any sickness with my first DD, but this time round it is horrible. I have lost my appetite for the past 2 weeks. I really have to force myself to eat, and when I'm chewing it I feel ok, but swallowing is hard, but then if I don't eat I feel sick too.
What a stupid way to be!!
I am so nauseas all the time, worse late at night for some reason.
I actually threw up for the first time this morning before breakfast, so it was more of a dry reach not much to throw up spew. (sorry TMI), but gee did I feel better afterwards! I actually felt like eating my toast and enjoyed it. LOL
I really hope this goes away soon.

Hi Mandiii. my due date is 2 days after yours and I have completely lost my appetite. I had a hugely increased appetite until about a week ago and bought all sorts of stuff that I fancied, now it is all sitting in the fridge and I don't want to go anywhere near it! Hopefully it will return soon.

DeeJay - I am the same as you too, I feel so nauseous as night time, just before dinner and till I fall asleep!!
I havent "thrown up" yet, but I wish I bloody would, maybe then i'll feel better!! What about you mumkc? Have you "thrown up" yet? (seeing as we close in due dates) :)
Yes, I am loving the dry crackers. Cruskets are especially good for me and saladas, but I have to force myself to eat it, even though I know it will make me feel better, I hate the thought of eating for fear of being sick!! LOL :)

Mandiii20, I hear you - LOVE the Saladas! And CHEESE... mmmmm... I feel sick when I am not eating. I don't know what it is that I feel like most of the time and spend more and more time opening and closing the fridge and pantry but when I do figure out what it is that I feel like I feel OK while I'm eating it... then when its over, I feel sick all over again. Advice which was given to me was not to let yourself get too hungry and to nibble on small dry things as often as you can. And drinks lots of fluids. Sometimes your body just needs some fluid. I hope this helps. And no, I have not thrown up yet (hoping we don't go there). Does anyone have any smells that make them feel worse? I work in a homewares shop and can't get far enough away from candles and diffusers!

Hi all!
Yes, I feel exactly the same. Im always hungry but the very thought of food turns me off! Saladas just turn to a revolting paste in my mouth, and I cannot drink either.
I went out and bought all this nutritious food and fruit etc, and just cant face ANY of it! Yet if I dont eat, I just feel dreafully sick:barf:
Really hoping this phase goes soon!

Hi Mandiii - Sorry for delayed response. I haven't been able to get on for a couple of days. No I haven't :barf: and hoping that doesn't change. Still don't have much of an appetite but forcing myself to eat. To make matters worse, I have braces and had them tightened two days ago, which means that dry biscuits aren't the easiest thing to eat! I'm like Noosa though - I am loving cheese sandwiches at the moment. I find I don't have cravings, more that I only have a very small list of things I can consider eating!
Hey Noosa, you may need to do some research into the diffuser scents burning at your work. I know that some can be abortificant (sp?), ie bring on abortion! I don't want to panic you but maybe look into it.
Have a great day all!

Thanks mumkc, will look into it first thing tomorrow. My husband (who works with me) keeps on hiding it as far away from me as possible as he's sick of hearing me complaining!
Oh and I have discovered LETTUCE - YUMMO!!! Mmmm MMMMM!!! Normally HATE the stuff but can't get enough these last 2 days. Off chocolate altogether too which is wierd because I normally can't get through a day without it!

i had total loss of appetite too which I was worried about (I have not had any appetite and can barely eat for at least 6 weeks now).
One book said loss of appetite was a symptom of nausea/morning sickness but less common. The doctor recommended small meals often, also also a drink like sustagen. But she said not to worry too much as the embryo gets everything they need and it is the mother who suffers
I hope you get your appetite back by christmas! I am so ready to gorge :)
