I was just wondering how long do you wrap your little one for, my little one wakes himself up when he is not wrapped with his arms flapping around??? Also in the hot weather should i wrap him and what should he wear under the wrap in the hot weather??

I thoguht this would be the case with my dd too, she kept unwrapping herself and i thought she would keep herself awake with her arms flailing everywhere, but turns out she was ok after an initial cry (which she usually does when going to bed anyway) maybe just try and tough it out and get him used to sleeping unwrapped? If he has ever had a nap without being wraped then his chances are good. If not, then try a light muslin wrap and if its real hot just wrap him up with only a nappy on.

I had the same issue with DD last summer.
She would not sleep without the wrap and I was so confused on what to put on her!
I went with the singlet and nappy and a muslin wrap. Nights wernt too bad but days when hotter I would have her in her bassinet or the pram sleeping in the main rooms just off from the airconed room for her days naps.

I tried everything to get her to sleep soundly unwrapped to no avail, so just went with the above until she one day fell asleep in my arms and transfered to the cot to sleep for 2 hrs for a day nap, I knew then that she was okay to stop doing it.
She was about 4 months and it was cooler so changed it to a sleeping bag instead and she was fine.

Hope that helps somewhat.

I'm still wrapping my DD who is almost 6 months.. I find she sleeps a lot better that way. In the hot weather, I just have a cotton singlet on her and use a muslin wrap (breathable)

Have you got a room thermometer? During the day for really hot days josh would be wrapped in muslin with only a nappy on, or a sleeveless bodysuit. Then, if the temp dropped to the low 20's I'd put a sheet over the top of him at night. If it dropped below 20 in his room he wears warmer clothes. If you look at the room temp overnight you'll get a good idea of whether you'll need to put extra clothes/sheets on your bub.

I don't wrap Skye any more unless shes really unsettled but if its hot I just use a very light blanket.

I've started using a sarong because the muslin wraps are too small for my 6 month old. they say you can wrap up till 9 months if baby likes it.

I know its a worry that they are too hot or too cold! I bought a light cellular blanket for the cool nights and she usually just wears a shortsleeve one piece underneath. our days are around 27 max, nights 12 min. in the day time I don't put anything over the wrap

DD refuses to sleep when she's wrapped. She likes to sleep with her arms above her head and her legs moving around. Doesn't wake herself up too much which is good, but wakes straight away if she realises she can't bend her legs up. At night now I just have her in a sleeping suit (the one with the feet in the bottom) so that her arms and legs are covered, but she can still move around. No worries yet....
