Hi,:hugs:
I've noticed a few of us want to meet up for coffee. I thought that we could start a thread to see who's interested and plan a time and place.
Looking at everyone's profiles we seem to be pretty spread out around Sydney (Northwest, Campbelltown, Eastern Subs, Wentworthville etc...) so I thought we could try and meet in the middle somewhere? Maybe Parramatta area?
Anyway if you're interested leave a post, feel free to make suggestions of where we can meet and what days suit you (weekdays or weekend etc).
I'm free most week days and saturdays.
Let's see if we can organise sometime, I know some of you already have organised meets before and probably have more ideas.:)
xx Denise

This sounds fantastic - count me in!
I am available anytime outside of M-F 7:30am-5pm - I have a car so getting anywhere isn't a prob. If anyone needs a lift just let me know. I have 6 months til DH gets back so more than likely I wont have plans.

Well Ally, it looks like it's just us so far:)
Maybe we could go out for coffee and dessert one night?
I'm away from the 12th to the 19th of March, but anytime before or after that is fine.
Maybe we should just PM each other if no one else wants to join us:rolleyes:

And my kids have swimming sat mornings.
I work mon to fri, so cant do week days! :)
Cant wait to meet you all!!
Oh can i bring the kids???
~J'dore~
02-03-2006, 15:07
Of course you can bring the kiddies if you want to, although I think I'm going to use it as an excuse to leave them with hubby if we meet in the evening!!! I'm a full time stay at home mummy, I love it but I wouldn't mind a bit of space every now and then.:)
Maybe we could do a sunday afternoon?? (then I could bring the kids)
MumsieMel

ok cool!
in march i can do the 19th and 26th :)
Where?
MilkOnTap
02-03-2006, 17:28
Yep - a Sunday arvo sounds fantastic to me and both of those dates work well too. Come to think of it, I have NOTHING on for March! LOL. Me and my busy life. I sometimes wonder what to do with it all!
At least by the 19th I will know if I have a BFP or not... :fingerscrossed:
What part of Sydney do you lovely ladies reside? I'm in Eastern Suburbs, and can get around quite easily...
MumsieMel
02-03-2006, 17:31
Hey Ally
Im at Campbelltown,
:fingerscrossed: that you'll have a belly full of arms and legs!!

02-03-2006, 17:33
Not too familiar with Sydney suburbs... Is that near Bankstown?
MumsieMel
02-03-2006, 17:38
Further!
Out past liverpool, South West. :)
MilkOnTap
02-03-2006, 17:45
Oh okay - so Bankstown would be a midway point?
MumsieMel
02-03-2006, 17:47
Yep actually Bankstown sounds good!
Does anyone know if they have a playcentre in there? Maybe that would be a good place to meet, then the kids are occupied! :)
If not thats fine too!

02-03-2006, 17:49
I dont know much about the area, but a lot of RSL clubs have indoor play grounds... Maybe something like that would be good?
MumsieMel
02-03-2006, 17:51
Yep that could be good too! Great idea..
How do we find out.....
MilkOnTap
02-03-2006, 17:52
There's gotta be a website or something... Gimme a sec.
MumsieMel
02-03-2006, 18:21
Any luck?
I couldnt find anything??
~J'dore~
02-03-2006, 18:37
Hi, I'm glad more of you are interested. I'm in North West Sydney, could we make it any more central? Say Parramatta? How long does it take you to get to Parramatta from where you all live? I don't think my kiddies would like being in the car that long if it's in Bankstown.
Oh and the 19th works for me too:yelclap:
~J'dore~
02-03-2006, 18:38
Oh and it's not exclusive, the more the merrier:hugs:
MumsieMel
02-03-2006, 18:40
Hey Elle, sure you can come! :)
Parramatta is an hrs drive for me.
~J'dore~
02-03-2006, 18:45
How about North Strathfield? On the map it looks about half way between Parramatta and Bankstown.
They have a lollypops playland and cafe there, this is the info:
@ The Bakehouse - 1 George Street (Corner Railway Lane)
North Strathfield 2137
Your host - Myreeann & Jean-Pierre Tchopourian
Open 7 Days
Mon - Fri 9.30AM - 6:00PM
Sat & Sun 9:30AM - 6:00PM
Admission Prices - Includes unlimited playtime.
Junior Entry 12 months - 23 months $7.90
Super Entry 2 - 11 years $11.50
Babies under 1 year - Free
Adults - $4.50 - includes free drink
If we have more than 10 children the prices are a bit cheaper. (I wonder if they'll let us count babies that may be in progress?? )
Let me know what you think, it might be a bit too expensive.
xx Denise

Oh and Parramatta's about 40mins south of where I live so I guess Bankstown would be quite far... I've never been there so I'm not sure. (I'm originally a kiwi gal)
MumsieMel
02-03-2006, 18:50
Sounds fine, but yes Lollipops is expensive, only worth if we stay long enough IYKWIM?
But im fine with that! :)
~J'dore~
02-03-2006, 18:55
Yeah, it get's expensive when you've got a couple of kids and they want food etc..
Anyway, we've got a couple of weeks to find somewhere. I'll do a google search and see what else is around.

Anywhere suits me fine. Also, if anyone from Sydney or Eastern Suburbs wants to come but are finding getting out the the meet, they are more than welcome to hitch a ride with me :) That includes you Krystal!
We can :ecomcity: the whole way there!
"The Bakehouse" place sounds good - if they are charging admission for kids then they cant be too bad, right? Have you been there before? Are you allowed to take food in? If so we could all just make a place of fruit or cakes or something and that would save a few $$ once we're in there...
~J'dore~
03-03-2006, 08:23
I haven't been to the one in North strathfield but I have in Castle Hill and it's quite good. You still have to run after your kids thou!!!
I don't think you can take your own food in.
If Krystal wants to come I live in Kellyvill Ridge which is really close to where she lives, I don't mind giving her a ride. (I don't bite:) )
Maybe a fenced park might be easier??

Maybe a fenced park might be easier??
Agree.
Will probably be a bit cheaper too...
~J'dore~
03-03-2006, 08:34
Now we just need to find one:thumbsup:
Isn't roselands futher south than bankstown??
MilkOnTap
03-03-2006, 09:30
Would that be too far for the Parramatta chickies?
~J'dore~
03-03-2006, 09:35
I don't live in Parramatta, I'm Kellyville, I just suggested Parramatta cause I thought it would be a middle point for everyone.
~J'dore~
03-03-2006, 10:08
That's too far for me... what about if we meet in the city??
I know distance looks futher but all the major motorways, trains and buses seem to go there and it might be faster for everyone?
I've seen that other groups meet at the Botanical Gardens maybe we could too??
Ok Count me in. But i have to tell you all i dont know my way around the city at all so a lift Denise would be great and im sure you dont bite :D
~J'dore~
03-03-2006, 10:26
No I dont, but my 14 month old does!!! Don't worry I'll hold him back:laughing:

Botanical Gardens sounds fab. Or even Hyde Park?
~J'dore~
03-03-2006, 11:13
Which one is Hyde park? Is it the one by the cathedral??
MilkOnTap
03-03-2006, 11:20
Yep. Just on top of Museum station. Cnr of Elizabeth St & Liverpool, inbetween Elizabeth St & College St...
Not much parking though...
~J'dore~
03-03-2006, 11:27
It just might be too close to the busy road (in case we have any escape artists!)
The Botanical Gardens are down off the road a bit.
MilkOnTap
03-03-2006, 11:29
I've never been to the Botanical Gardens - do they have a cafe or fenced playground there?
~J'dore~
03-03-2006, 11:36
No, just big grass areas and trees. It's just down from Hyde park.
If you're walking towards the Opera house from Hyde park you follow the path around to the right and the Gardens go all the way around to the Opera house.
It's inbetween the Opera house and the Cathedral.
We'd have to keep a close eye on our kids because it is near the water, but we can set up quite far back from the waters edge.
